They don't have many good scripts, that's the issue. GMMTV series tend to fall apart in the 2nd half, because they don't have an interesting story to tell. That happened with The Eclipse, My School President, Bad Buddy and many others.

I just thought about it today. In the very first timeline where everything started, Pisaeng, who is gay, wanted to marry Pear. That sure wouldn't have been a happy ever after marriage. So unhappiness was awaiting them even without Kawi involved.
About Kawi's sexuality: I for once thought the "I'm only gay for you"-plot is realistic. You feel Kawi's struggle. He is unsure, hesitant, but then again he is drawn towards Pisaeng.
I would love to see how they explore the sexual aspect of their relationship, but this is GMMTV, and honestly, it's better they don't go there. They would mess it up for sure.

I agree with you, but whatever happened, I think it's true, that he doesn't like it when people assume he is gay. He has any right to feel like that. Nobody has to celebrate gayness or queerness, and I'm hoping they will get over that ridiculous pride month. It's beyond stupid to be "proud" of who you f*ck.
But that said, if someone would assume I'm gay, I wouldn't snatch like he did. Because ... I don't care. And I don't care, because deep down I don't think this is something bad or good, something to be ashamed or to be proud of. And his reaction shows indeed that he thinks differently about this matter, which again, he has any right to.
But I also understand where those rumors are coming from. That some lovely people out there make it their mission to cyber-bully him shows us the ugly face of this LGBTQ+ (feel free to add more letters, sigh) activism.

So you want someone who loves you unconditionally and enjoys suffering because of you? A guy who wanted to marry a woman, despite being gay? A guy who still keeps his friendship with the one he has a crush on, even though it has a negative impact on this guy's relationship with his long time girlfriend?
Seriously, that so many people think this is romantic, explains why this world is so "toxic" ;P

People hate on Krist, also the story is not really mainstream, not easy to process.
I think when they keep this quality up, the rating will get higher after the last episode airs and many will binge-watch it.

Nahhhhh ... No one else than Krist could pull that role off. The director wanted him to act like "animated", "manga style", and he delivered. He sometimes looks straight out of Japanese or Korean webcomic in those cute scenes. He is also the only one who is able to change when portraying his older self. It looks like even his physique is different, from small-skinny to normal weight and manly. He is a chameleon.
He did the same in Sotus. I remember back then how baffled I was when angry manly Arthit suddenly became such a cutie.

Thinking about ep 8 and Pisaeng's reaction to that kiss, we can assume that it's not the first time that Kawi showed some interest just to chicken out later.
I mean, Pear is now married and moved on, Pisaeng and Kawi both are single, why not starting a relationship now? There was never a better time for them! Instead, Pisaeng runs away. Why? Because most likely Kawi kissed him before when drunk (and maybe later didn't remember) or he at least gave him false hope. Is Kawi even a cheater, I mean, he was with Pear the whole time? So another commenter is absolutely right, when they said, Kawi is the enfant terrible here, that sucks the life and happiness out of them, lol.
But you know ... a better future is ahead, so let's forget. Well, it's a bit hard for me, but I will try. Hopefully the upcoming fluff in ep 9 will cure my sour soul.

Well, if the competition are such series you mentioned, then Be My Favorite is a new moral high ground.
Pisaeng's behavior isn't 100% selfless. He must have known that his constant presence in Kawi's life will have a negative effect on his relationship with Pear. When the press knew about them being a bit too close, then Pear knew it too. How is that, being in a relationship with a guy who has feelings for another guy? One of your best friends, too. How must that feel?
They were just all caught in that toxic love triangle, and apparently couldn't get out of it for a decade. I just hope we don't see that future ever again.
Pisaeng finally distancing himself from Kawi and sending that postcard was the right thing to do. I admire him for still loving Kawi from a distance. He should have done that much earlier, though.
I just hope, they will get their bs together and not going around in circles. From ep 9 we will get fluff again, but also drama? What is it this time?

Well, what argument is this?
People can't differentiate between "the characters act immoral or are flawed self-destructive people" and "The series is bad".
If they keep this up, then this is the best written BL I have ever watched. And I have watched many. That doesn't mean the characters are good people. I think their behavior is very questionable, but most viewers are blinded by the chemistry and cuteness. I'm honestly shocked how so many aren't able to look behind that and really see how disturbing this love triangle is.
Someone said this is such a feel good series. I didn't "feel good" since ep 7. What's there to feel good about this mess?
We will get some fluff in ep 9. So maybe that will make me feel good?
Ah ... about the bullshit comment: What are they going to do now? Will Kawi again go to the future? Will it be a mess AGAIN? I will tear out my hair if they don't settle this fast.

People will tell you "this series is soooo romantic", "Pisaeng is such a green flag", "Kawi is sooooo cute" and every discussion ends there.
Seriously, in Ep 8 Pisaeng said "When are you going to stop doing this" - so I assume Kawi made it a habit to kiss him when drunk. Then the flashback scene with Pisaeng where he asked him if he said something about them to his friends ... well, what's there to tell? Maybe that they make out when drunk?
I'm glad the Kawi we watch, the loser from the future, will now make his life and Pisaeng's life better, so he is at least a fast learner and he seems to have good intentions. Now. But seeing this future tells us that there is bad in him. It takes something to make your guy friend who has a crush on you suffer for 10 years. It also takes something to be around your crush when the guy is in a relationship with a woman. Sadism and masochism at max. I also don't understand why Pear is into Kawi. She has enough other options, you would assume.
But in all seriousness: I understand why Pisaeng and Kawi are into each other. There is a deep connection you can feel through the screen.
I just hope they get their happy end fast. I'm tired of their bullshit.

I thought they have only good chemistry when they play those top/bottom roles, with Krist playing the cutie. So I wasn't sure what kind of roles/series they could do together after Be My Favorite, because I don't think they would enjoy being stuck in those stereotypes.
But since we travelled to the future, their chemistry when both are more mature is just as good. So I think if they want to stick together, they can find an interesting project that fits them.

Mike was supposed to take the role. He was in the first trailer. They didn't only change the actor, they changed the character too. The Pisaeng we finally got is more vulnerable.
But no drama here as far as I know. Most likely they thought Gawin is the better fit, and Mike stepped back.

Btw, in that context I liked it that old Pisaeng with some balls was back in the last episode. He gets mad and annoyed when Kawi is difficult.

I saw someone saying he was attracted to Pear because she is such a lovely, positive and bright person. This was a genius observation, then in one of Kawi's narrations he complained about the world being so cruel, and people should be nicer, so nobody had to struggle that much. I don't exactly remember what he said, but it makes sense that he is attracted to such a friendly and open person that was nice to him.

I like what they did with Kawi's sexuality. He is not a closeted gay, he is into women for real, and that interview scene in the future showed us, that he does not want that other people think he is gay. So there is the social struggle, but also the struggle about his feelings. The character is very similar to Arthit from Sotus, so I wonder if that's a reason why Krist took this role.
Anyway ... it's pretty relatable. In most "I'm only gay for you" situations there is not even a struggle. They play it like it's the epitome of romance, when you chose someone because of the personality, even though you aren't sexually attracted to the gender. It feels different in this series, though. Kawi comes across as curious, but also insecure and hesitant, but then again he now made up his mind - finally! -, he is determined to go forward, he accepts that he needs Pisaeng in his life. Not to mention that Pisaeng being officially gay (even though he seems to be only into Kawi, lol) makes this plot more believable. No need for two guys figuring out their sexuality.
But I really like that plot, and I'm curious how they work out as a couple.
Also, less scenes with Not and Pear would be appreciated. I'm just a bit tired of the Pear drama, even though she deserves her happy end too.

Honestly, I don't think you must have so much trust or transparency to share your diary with your loved one. There is nothing wrong with having some things that are personal to you. People should learn to love themselves a bit more, and not be dependent on others to the point where they need to strip naked (I'm talking metaphorically here) to build trust.
Still, I wasn't aware the diary was so personal. He talked mostly about his time travel, didn't he? Pisaeng's reaction also didn't show that he was touched or aware of what Kawi was giving him here. He was mostly confused.

I'm not that romantic, I think that's the issue here. I'm more about logic and how believable something is, and how people react. That's the reason why I disliked the Pisaeng development, even though everyone was wearing their romance google and said "I need a Pisaeng in my life".

On a side note: The diary was only the documentation of his time travel. Was it really that personal?

They saved the Pisaeng character for me, because I was mad at him being so pathetic and weak.
Only thing I didn't like in the episode that Kawi gave him the diary. Odd choice of storytelling. I have to rewatch the episode, but I think it was done to create the misunderstanding - Kawi wanted to move forward with Pisaeng, Pisaeng thought he wanted him out of his life. But I feel they should have chosen another way to push the story in the desired direction. I liked it that only Kawi knew this secret. For an outsider, this is just hard to believe. In Pisaeng's place I would have thought Kawi is crazy, but they just brushed over it and moved on. A bit unrealistic.
Everything else was good, though they are moving a bit too fast from scene to scene, go back and forth between past, future and somewhere in between. But for a GMMTV series, the editing and pace is so far so good.
