What are they doing with those actors in Korea? And why are they so weak to get along with it? I know Jun Ho only from Just Between Lovers, but I still remember how much I liked his acting. He was good-looking too: very round face, darker skin, very Asian eyes. A very charming and refreshing cutie. Now look at him. I was trying out this series because it's trending. Didn't recognize the actor at all. I only saw people talking about Jun Ho, and remembered the name. Pale white skin, sharp very narrow face, underweight, eyes look different too. And don't tell me he aged!
This is just sad. I'm not hating, so don't come at me. I'm honestly just sad. Such a lovely actor with great energy, now he looks so unnatural like a wax figure.

TayNew was an odd choice for this. Very odd.
I have heard he was good in The Wrap Effect. I didn't watch the series, though.
When he does BL they always press him into those cute, clumsy and vulnerable roles. I have seen him in a hetero series where he was a bit more mature and manly. He can pull it off. Wasted potential.

TayNew was an odd choice for this. Very odd.
"Tay trying to look cool is just off-putting & New squishing himself to look small beneath Tay is just so wrong too."
Hahahahaha! I didn't want to say it, but those two don't work as your classical top/bottom stereotype, because New is HUGE. That's why I liked them in Kiss Me Again. It was so obvious that those roles didn't work on them, and they were smart enough not to try that hard, which made everything so fun and exciting. There was that kiss scene in the lake where I got heavy top vibes from Kao. Those two have lots of potential to play with those top/bottom roles, reverse them. But since GMMTV is playing it safe, they just press them into those stereotypes, which feels unnatural and forced.

In Thailand, they have what's called a "pilot trailer." It's a trailer that's created before the show is actually…
KinnPorsche too. They had such a well choreographed insane fight scene in the first trailer ...! And then in the series there was nothing like that. The fights looked amateurish.

TayNew was an odd choice for this. Very odd.
I remember that I had more issues with New's character, because they changed him for the third time. In the original series Kiss Me Kao was a nerdy and awkward kid with low self-esteem. In Kiss Me Again he transformed into a pretty cheeky guy, and in DBK suddenly he became a weak coward, and New had the same painful expression throughout the whole series while playing that character.
The writers had no real idea what to do with those two characters, if you ask me. They just milked the couple, and now they are doing it again.

Many times the final series doesn't look anything like the first trailer.

KinnPorsche for example looked like a gritty noir series, at the end it was a silly rom-com with some violence and blood. The Eclipse looked like a spooky and violent mystery series, at the end it was a rather tame and slow fantasy story. Be My Favorite first trailer even had a different main actor, and they also changed the personality of the character.

Hate to say it but for me the pilot lacked spark and went through the motions, like a cover band playing someone…
They are just milking the couple with this one. DBK 2.0, a cheesy soap opera that is as exciting as watching paint dry.
They could have switched their roles for once. Nope. Too dangerous. Play it safe. Give them fans what they want.

TayNew was an odd choice for this. Very odd.
I liked the couple in Kiss Me Again a lot. They were funny, and despite playing the typical top/bottom roles, their interactions felt different. Kao was pretty cheeky, and didn't take Pete's bulls*it. Pete on the other hand wasn't very convincing as the dangerous top, so the whole dynamics were hilarious and exciting.
In DBK they went down the soap opera style and made everything cheesy and boring.
Now we are back to similar roles. Since New has a cute face, he is always the bottom. And Tay for some unexplainable reason has to play the top. He was great in 3 will be free where he had a completely different role.
They are just milking the ship with this one.
I don't expect any great acting, especially not from New. I honestly don't like it when he acts overly cute, and I also don't enjoy it, when Tay acts overly cool. They could have changed their roles for once, make New the top, and Tay the clumsy bottom, but nope. They play it safe, and give the fans what they want.

It will probably more like Step by Step as we have mature, aged characters (30 year old) so us OG BL Fans who…
This is not about plot (though I can't see how a 30 years old virgin with superpower is a mature plot), my issue is the style.
This looks 100% like DBK 2.0, which was too slow, too cheesy, too polished. I remember you could watch it in 2x speed on Youtube and were still able to get the subtitles.
I'm just not into soap opera.
Watching the trailer I feel no excitement. Not to mention that New again seems to play the same character ike in DBK, when he acted completely different in Kiss Me Again. Because of the cute face they always give him such roles. And Tay of course has to play the charming top. He was incredible in 3 will be free. Why not giving him more roles like those, where he can really shine and grow as an actor? Because they don't want to piss off the fans. They play it safe: Soap opera with their typical top/bottom roles. This is 100% just fan service to revive their ship. No originality here.

Well, I was loving it to the moon and back, but since ep 7 I'm hating it. You can really destroy good characters…
I will try to express my thoughts by not writing a long ass comments (well, I guess I failed):
Kawi: His character changed too much to the point that I think it's unrealistic and not well done. That an introvert suddenly becomes an extrovert superstar is unbelievable enough. He also became worse in many aspects in the future, and I think this is not consistent with his personality. It makes no sense how he is worse off, even an alcoholic, if he gained so much in his new life: friends, a girlfriend, his dream career, his best friend as his manager etc. He was doing better when he was all alone, depressed and broke. So the only thing that apparently is giving him such a hard time in this future is his love life. I don't like how they make his happiness only dependent on his love life. The death of his father isn't the issue, he died in every timeline.
Pisaeng: Great coming out plot, but for what? He apparently is "only gay for Kawi", because Kawi is the only one in his mind for f*cking 10 years. The character is very pathetic and even creepy in the future. Celebrating a love confession anniversary, when the love is unrequited, and being constantly around the guy you love, when that guy is in a relationship with your good friend - disturbing. Pisaeng is either dense and naive, or he has some ulterior motive. But to be honest, I assume the writers didn't think that far and just believe this is the portrayal of a romantic and pure love. That Pisaeng wanted to marry a woman in the first future despite being gay is also very, very low. I question his intelligence and morals at this point.
Pear: such a weak woman! She is beautiful, the hottest girl on campus, intelligent and rich. It's an accomplishment to mess up your life so badly. Weak. Pathetic.
Kwan: I have no words
Knot: Well ... no character development here, but at least the writing is consistent. He is indeed an asshole and remains an asshole.
To sum it up: It makes no sense to me that they ended up like this. And the most important question: WHY? Because that love triangle makes them unhappy? I'm not a fan of the idea that you won't be happy until you get your fated love, even if you have so much you can be thankful for in your life. Kawi really hit the jackpot, and he still messed it up.
I don't know where the writers are going with this story, but I hope they have more ideas than just making Kawi and Pisaeng a couple, so everyone lives happily ever after. That would transform that thought-provoking story into a cheesy fairy tale romance.
They fooled me into thinking this is a story about life, love, friendship, your dreams, your losses, your hopes and your regrets. At the end of the day it's only about their love life that will decide about the outcome.

That plot, though ...
Virgin superpower
And New is playing the shy bottom. Again. Sigh.
I feel like one of those housewives who watch cheesy soap operas. I miss the good old times when BL was more edgy.
On Be My Favorite Jul 9, 2023
Since more time passes, I start to think differently about this series. Well, something was off with my anyway since ep 7 aired.
My heart tells me now that this is going in the wrong direction.
First, I have still no idea why all of them were able to mess up their life so much. Kawi was always problematic, an introvert of the kind, who blames others. He thinks nobody approaches him, but when they do, he is the one giving up too fast. With the help of Max and Pisaeng he got out of his shell. So what now? He became a superstar (a bit unrealistic, but whatever), an extrovert, an alcoholic, an asshole, he tramples on other people, he hurts them, he is too self-centered. Like how did that happen? Was that really in his nature? Is this really well-thought-out character development?
Then Pisaeng: they did a good job with his coming out, but what is it worth, when he is doing nothing than longing for that one single guy his whole life? In that case they could have done the "I'm only gay for you" plot. Wouldn't matter. We don't know at this point how many gay relationships he had, but they make it look like Kawi is the only one in his heart. That's also unfair to any partner he had before! Isn't that a fairy tale romance of the cheesiest kind? Some say, this is pathetic. I still find it creepy. When you're so focussed on someone, that tells me more about yourself, than about the person you love. Btw: Has he even a job? A career? What is he doing? Chilling in a van for so long, because he is so sad - not everyone can afford that.
Pear: She comes from a wealthy family, but in the last episode she said something about being "nearly jobless". Why going after the superstar-guy? Build a career on your own, you had it all on a silver plate. Nope. I want a family, and have to marry a cheater. Pathetic.
They did that whole episode just for shock value, and they were successful. But if you think about it, it doesn't suit the characters, and it makes me wonder how they fix this mess.
If going back and dating Pisaeng is saving everyone ... woah! I mean, you have friends, talent, a career - it's all not enough. You need your fated love. The other two have also friends, money, Pear at least has a supportive father, it's all not enough. I don't see how those people have a difficult life. Just don't do romance then, and cherish the friendship! Kawi with losing his only parent was the only one who really had it hard, still he gained so much in the new timeline, and still he didn't manage to make a good life for himself. Pisaeng had issues with coming out, but what's with Max? He is out there in the open from the beginning, lost his friend, because he is gay - at least he thought that was the reason for Kawi distancing himself - still he is a manager and the voice of reason in the future. Why isn't he fucked up? Where is his fated love?
And Kawi losing his dad isn't the issue here. He did much better in the first timeline. He became the much bigger loser in the new future. The whole issue here seems to be that he and Pisaeng have to be a couple. Nah ... my condolences to all the people out there who don't get their fated love. No wonder your life is messed up! You can lay back and don't try harder, I mean, it's understandable you're a mess! *sarcasm off*
Seriously, Kawi should just go back to the future where he was all alone. Saves a lot of people a lot of trouble.
They have to save this mess in the next episode, otherwise I'll drop it. They really managed to make me dislike this characters in a single episode.
I'm just not entertained by watching such self-destructive, pathetic people.

True! The drama is exactly how it's supposed to be as a whole. This is why I love this show because everyone falls…
Will they really make this character the villain, and that's it? I thought he has a bigger role.

Hahahahaha! But Kawi became really an asshole, didn't he? I never expected him to be so focussed on his career,…
I had the same thought, but they focus too much on the love triangle. At the moment it seems dating Pisaeng will solve all of their problems. Is it really that easy? Kawi is just messed up. In the new timeline he has friends, the girl of his dreams, his best friend by his side as his manager, his dream career, he is loved by many people ... what else do you want? His father dying is tragic, but nobody lives forever. He was an adult when he died. He had friends who helped him copy with the loss. The first time he was all alone, but he did better. His lonely, sad and depressed subtitler life wasn't that messed up if you look back.
So his issues are indeed rooted in the love triangle somehow.

Honestly, no wonder he left everyone behind and went MIA for 1 year. Boy is actually trying to move on but I guess…
I hope he is mad. Well, something happens, otherwise Kawi wouldn't embrace him and cry like he did in that preview scene.

plot twist: what if Pear's child is Kawi's, instead of Not's, and Not is actually the good guy because he stepped…
Hahahahaha!
But Kawi became really an asshole, didn't he? I never expected him to be so focussed on his career, but some may argue he did it to make his dead father proud. Still, it looked like the fame has gone to his head.
