I lost my patience around ep 21 with all these side characters and SSD OST playing in the background at every…
yea its a shame that the most exciting arc (imo) was placed at the end bc everything about it is just epic, people who drop it will unfortunately miss it
ive seen some actors in reuters and the novel surely has these role names, but usually mdl wont accept edits to the cast unless the sources are credible, so there hafta be citable announcements from youku or other official accounts
Probably a drama that kills off a lot of characters, but surprisingly, I’m not sad about it. Normally, I’d…
similar thing happened to me, only cried for general bai's death in the beginning and then had difficulties later on. i still consider the story moving, but i think something about the final editing ruined the atmosphere for me
final comments: loved the show, an 8.8 imo. the best way i could describe my mixed feelings is trying an overpriced michelin star dish. high quality ingredients (acting, costumes, story, cgi etc) are great but cant be fully appreciated if not cooked well together. i cant deny that i was emotionally moved by many scenes, but there was always a lingering feeling that something was missing. mainly it was how the music/camera shots occasionally ruined the atmosphere (ex. that zhou shen song, became repetitive albeit heavenly during the BSxFY scenes). i saw many weibo comments that this show was on track to become an iQiyi 10000+ show but failed because of the final execution. the god arc was the most hyped but seemed to have been rushed through faster than the fox arc, the failure to allow the main CP to shine was what ruined it's heat index. in the end im still grateful for being able to watch such amazing cast and crew deliver, but unfortunately i can understand why the heat index couldn't reach that threshold.
perhaps it only works on laptop display, but the link is supposed to display a ranking board of the current hottest shows, wi th each show’s index next to its title. probably wouldn’t work on mobile
I agree with you on this! him assuming those letters were from Bai Shuo was the biggest ick for me, it speaks…
tysm cause i thought i worded it terribly and no one would agree 0-0 im sure ill tolerate the ship more later but it feels like that whole "protective attitude" he had for baishuo for like 20 eps was just on a whim? he never even confirmed if she wrote it or not? he just headcanoned a version of her that he liked ???
ik the fu ling chong zhao ship is sailing rn but i dont like the "mistunderstanding made me mistake my lover" trope. like he was touched by bai xi's heartfelt notes but assumed it was baishuo, so now fans can go "oh yea he never loved bai shuo so now the cz x fl ship can sail" as if the heart can't move on. same thing happened in eternal love of dream where the evil ji heng suddenly turned good and told the guy she rejected "oh nvm turns out i loved you all along hahahaha even though i killed for the male lead it wasn't real feelings". no hate towards the ship, it's just the previous buildup feels wasted when they try to push the "destined lovers" narrative
although idk which arc you're referring to, imo the heat index dropped bc of the frame story. there's an intricate…
yea occasionally there are explosively popular dramas i can't get the hype about, and sometimes it's hard to pinpoint why my taste differs so much. LBFAD fans praise the show's chemistry, acting, story etc but it was hard to immerse myself into it. maybe i'm like an emotionless monk now after watching so many dramas 🙂↕️

im sure a lot of fans are quite emotionally attached to the show, and it's good that they can feel moved by the scenes to that degree. however, i mourned over bai shuo's dad's death but the following episodes hit me less, maybe it's because it went fast then slowed down? since the story is interesting i think it deserves an 8-9 stars, but i agree that a lack of balance can throw off the vibe
From music to characters. Everything has been great except screentime. Too much of eternals useless arguments…
although idk which arc you're referring to, imo the heat index dropped bc of the frame story. there's an intricate web of character relationships so it's a pretty great "hook" factor for viewers, however frame story has always been a tricky device to use for a plot. mystery hooks in an audience but a lack of context can leave viewers unsatisfied, building many plot lines can help the drama stand out but also dissatisfy viewers who wanted to see more development of a certain plotline. im still enjoying and willing to continue to watch, but i do think it's a shame that the drama couldn't reach it's full potential. i think i'll be very hyped for the final god arc tho!
