i think there's a stark contrast between fanyue and chenyu for this reason. they both are powerful and seemingly ruthless demon kings, but we've been able to see fanyue develop compassion for baishuo, unlike chenyu who treats his underlings like crap even if they've done so much for him. it's probably the shows way of conveying that there are good and bad eternals as well as good and bad demons. no one is born inherently evil or good because of their affiliation

i prefer this over dramas that try to recruit 20+ people to act out these immortal/demon groups even if some of them cant act, but the cold spring palace does look very empty with 3 people 👁️

unpopular opinion but SML isn’t that annoying 🫢 like it’s all down to your personal tastes but i feel like he has it rough too. he’s having a hard time breaking his ties with baishuo because he actually cared about their engagement while she saw no value in it. she has her mind driven by revenge while he’s chasing after his losses. i pity him every time he has to stare at fan yue and bai shuo’s budding relationship 😆 he’s the typical 白月光 character, the pure justice fighter who loses in the love triangle, so maybe people aren’t used to
