My older brother is graduating from UTSA this weekend, but maybe we can set something up for Friday? A friend recommended Love 911. Have you seen that yet? And I'm doing OK! Almost fully recovered from the eyeliner tattoo! I'll show y'all a picture whenever we can get together. How about you? Everything going good with school?

Started City Hall cause rewatching Greatest Love left me wanting more Dokko! The character he plays in this seems decidedly un-Dokko-like, though! And seriously, can we tell Korean Ajummas to ban the lead's haircut from their style options? It never looks good on anyone!!! It's giving me Full House Take 2 flashbacks :p

I get so sad when one of my favorites enlist! It's sooooo long without them ;p I do understand the necessity, but man I'm selfish enough to hate it :p
We are the opposite! I am more into dramas than I am into movies. It takes a lot to get me to watch a movie! My friends Akumi and Little Dream and I get together on a chat room and watch movies together, that's the only way I watch them. But we will have to add Love 911 to the queue!
I am a pretty bad dramathoner as well! So much school work has been left to the wayside in pursuit of just one more episode :p luckily, I can get a lot of school work done at my job, since its not our busy season anymore!

They did confirm that they were dating :) but he enlisted so it will be a while before he is back. Bums me out! None of his other dramas are worth watching :(
Yea, it's not the leads kissing unfortunately! The kisses are good, but not that good :p
I am in a bit of a slump right now! Nothing I start catches my attention so I have just been rewatching my favorites. I did finish School 2013 recently and it was excellent! I am not usually someone who enjoys dramas without romance, but that one sucked me in and wouldn't let go!
How about you? Anything exciting on your radar? I don't think
I've heard of Love 911 before.

The gif of Gumiho is actually her and the second male lead watching television together . She doesn't know anything about the modern world, so he is flipping through channels and teaching her. It's a funny scene!
that's so disappointing you had a bad experience with QIHM! I watched it before I realized there was a world of people like me out there that loved dramas, so I went in with no expectations and was dazzled by it. It eschewed all of the drama conventions I had consistently in every drama before that, so it was a pleasant surprise. Have you seen the extended ending then? Now that's a hot kiss!

Missing You has a great ending!! It's full of hope and laughter and, most importantly, love! It will make you cry a dozen times, but it is worth the emotional roller coaster. Never have I rooted for two characters more than Jung Woo and Soo Yeon! It's not perfect, but it does make it as only the second drama I've rated a 10 (Queen In Hyun's man being the other). You're right, I hate sad endings, so I never recommend dramas that have them!
I am not a huge Shin Min Ah fan, but Gumiho totally turned me around on her! She was so delightful to watch, and Lee Seung Gi was, as ever, a lot of fun in this role. He has perfected the role of male lead in desperate need of some maturity! I will say, Gumiho has one of my favorite first kisses in it! It caught me off guard and it was so sweet!!
Rooftop Prince is a drama I hesitate on recommending. My first time through I had literally
Just finished QIHM and so I was constantly comparing. In Hyun is immeasurably better. But they are also really different! In Hyun is about the romance with comedy dashed in. Rooftop is equal parts melodrama and romance that can't decide if it wants to drop the melo part for comedy. It comes off a little schizophrenic. And the ending isn't all that great. It's not sad, per se, but it's not really happy either. Mostly just unsatisfying!
I loved "onion dressing", hilarious :p And good god, did Jan Di wear some of the ugliest outfits known to man! I disagree on the skirts though. I think it's refreshing to see a young person not be obsessed with how high she can get her hem line without actually seeing any of her lady bits! They could have been a bit shorter, sure.

I'm having the exact opposite problem! There is nothing that sounds good to me! I have just been rewatching old dramas. I rewatched Lie To Me, Missing You and The Greatest Love this weekend! Partially because it hurt too much to read, so I needed to watch stuff I didn't have to pay attention to, but mostly because nothing sounds good to me to start right now :p
The eyeliner turned out really great! I was pleased with how it turned out :) I will definitely send you a picture in the next few days whenever it gets picture ready :p I have never had a tattoo before, so I can't say for certain which hurts worse. I'd imagine that a regular tattoo probably hurts worse, just because I don't think they do any numbing. With the eyeliner, they do try and numb the area as much as possible. It still feels like razorblades on your skin, but it's manageable pain. And it's over so quickly! It took about an hour each. And yes, it is scabby right now, and irritated. I should have taken today off of work and stayed home one more day, but Franchise Tax Deadline is coming up next week, so I needed to clear my status report.
I think it's a good idea to put Baker King on hold! Too many great dramas to waste time on something you're not really feeling right now! That's disappointing that YSY's character wasn't all that great! I guess that means I can safely put it off my "wondering about" list :p
Did Time Between Dog and Wolf have a good ending? I had it on my list for a while, and then I think I took it off cause someone said it had a sad ending. Or maybe I am remembering another drama? Too many dramas, so little brain space :p I may have to give it a shot tonight! Even if the lead character is annoying :p I don't think I've ever wished death on a main female lead before!

I really loved Haeundae Lovers! It was all fluff, though, next to no substance. And what it tried to pass off as substance was a little ridiculous. But Nam Hae and So Ra's relationship is just so sweet, and addicting! There are a couple of good kisses, more so than most dramas I think :)
After HL, it's two sets of Missing You gifs. I agree, YEH always has great kisses! And Missing You is no exception :) It's an amazing drama, all three leads were just incredible.
After MY, it's My Girlfriend is a Gumiho with Shin Min Ah and No Min Woo. Two Queen In Hyun's Man sets is next and then it's a Rooftop Prince gif set. And then of course, Reply 1997 :)
Inuyasha!! I would totally watch that ;p I haven't seen any of your pics, but loved the article :) I'd love a Card Captor Sakura drama with a slightly holder heroine. Oh, or Kyo Kara Maoh would be good! I'd say Fushigi Yugi, too, but Faith was pretty danged close :p

I knew you'd understand my disappointment :p And that's what makes it worse, that I just couldn't imagine him as the love interest, so when it turned that way, my brain couldn't comprehend it!!
Minoz wants to watch The World They Live In so I think I am going to give that another shot. I really want to watch a school drama, so I might give Shut Up another chance her soon, too. I can't really watch anything right now though, my eyes hurt way too much to focus on subtitles. The tattoo hurt like b*tch, but I really like it! The only bummer is that they can't connect the top and bottom til a month after. They don't want to tattoo in that spot the first time cause it's so sensitive. So you go back a month later and they do the last little centimeter. But other than that, I am so pleased! I'd be more pleased if it didn't hurt so much :p
I am glad you got the green light on Iljimae! I'd have been worried too! And your far braver than I am, I need the romantic ending :p I think that is why I am so terrified of historicals. In order for them to be realistic, the endings can be all chocolate sundaes with cherries on top! That's the ending I prefer anyway :p Keep me updated on it! How many episodes does it have?
How's Baker King going? I'm sure you've finished it by now, did YSY ever become a better character?

Already on 9? THat's awesome! That means it's close to be done :) So is that new time travel show! It just has two weeks, I can't wait! I have seen the first 4 episodes of Worlds Within, but I have been meaning to finish it! Why don't we watch that one? I just got permanent eyeliner done today (a tattoo on your eyes of eyeliner), and so my eyes are too swollen to really watch a lot of dramas, but since I am 4 ahead already, why don't you go ahead and start and hopefully by Sunday I will be able to keep my eyes open enough to read subtitles. As it is, my little brother is typing this up for me :p
ahh . it such a stupid drama . how can be a teacher with his student ? i wanna Eun Byul with Moo Shin aka TOP…
Why, oh why didn't I just read the comments before I wasted time on this drama!?!! That's why I dropped it, I found out who she ended up with. So freaking ticked off!

I have ONE rule in dramas that I stick hard and fast to. All other rules, I will break if there is a good enough reason. The one rule I don't break is teachers and students having relationships. I spent a good deal of I Am Sam expecting Moo Shin to be the love interest. Finally, I started wondering why he was in like 2 seconds of the first 9 episodes. Maybe I should have figured it out sooner, they left enough hints in retrospect, but I totally did not expect her to hook up with the teacher. AT ALL. I am so pissed off! First off, the teacher was the nice/innocent/naive guy who really just came off as a mentally handicapped and stupid. He was having a cute relationship with the teacher that I could totally get behind because she was shy, naive girl. I get it, students in Korea are older than students here, but it still seriously bugs me! Now I wasted all this time on a drama I can't even finish. Bummed :(

SKDLGNADLRIGNWLKEGBALKNMLCVDSLAD,ZXEWDS2 - that's how ticked off I am right now. I just screamed "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" at my TV four or five times before Shawn came in and told me I seriously needed to be medicated :p I need to rant to someone, so the next comment is a spoiler comment on I Am Sam and why I just wasted my life on it. Just letting you know, so you don't click on the spoiler one in case you don't want to be spoiled.
I can really relate to some of these. Sometimes when I'm watching them eat really good looking ramen, it'll stay…
I'm glad I'm not alone in that! I think that might be why I haven't started season 3 of Game of Thrones yet! It's so gritty and has gratuitous sex and violence scenes, it would be a shock to my poor Korean system :p That's funny that you blushed when he held your hand! Haha, I don't know how our poor boys put up with us!

Boys Before Flowers was the first drama I watched after it took me 8 years to finish Full House :p The first time I watched it, I loved it! It was so dramatic and even if Jun Pyo was an ass with really awful hair, I loved how immature he was, cause it meant a lot of growth. Well, minor growth in his case, I guess :p I don't think Jun Pyo really ever changed that much. But when I went back to rewatch it after I had seen a couple more dramas, I couldn't believe how awful it was! The acting was so over the top and ridiculous.
That sounds terrifying, the accents that mom and dad must have had if it bugged you! I probably would have skipped too! the only drama I have watched where I actually enjoyed the little kid parts of it is Missing You. Though, enjoyed probably isn't the right word, since it was so sad for most of it. Hopefully YSY starts growing on you! It would suck if you watched it for him and then didn't even like his character :p
Hedgehog was soooooooo cute! His 1,2,3 Go! stole my heart from the get go :p Dramafever stopped carrying it cause it wasn't all that popular, I think, so I never rewatch some of my favorite scenes like I normally would :p
Yea, I was talking with someone about wanting to watch Hong Gil Dong and they told me not to, since I am anti-sad endings. Did you get a green light on the ending to Iljimae? I think that's why I am reluctant to watch historical dramas, they all seem like they will have sad endings! I want to watch The Moon The Embraces The Sun, but people refer to it as a Korean Romeo and Juliet, and we all know how that ends! I haven't found the courage to ask if it ends the same or not, cause I like the idea of watching it someday :p
Haha, I love the word smarmy :p I probably use it too much!
I can really relate to some of these. Sometimes when I'm watching them eat really good looking ramen, it'll stay…
Haha, I'm with you on that one Akumi! PDA is so much more scandalous now :p Even on American TV shows! Shawn and I sat down to watch Wonderland the other night, and there is a sex scene in some stranger's bathroom, and it was totally scandalous! I ducked my head and looked away before I remembered that that stuff didn't bother me :p I'm sure Chris will be sad the PDA will be toned down once your back on your feet :p
I have caught myself bowing before, and thought afterward that people must think I'm really weird :p I also fall into the wanting to be able to use chopsticks part, but I am far to uncoordinated to get it down, no matter how hard I try! Someday... :p This was a fun article to read :)
