Personally, Jao Sao Jum Yorm is my favourite Mik Thongraya series (in fact it is my favourite Thai series of all). But Sapai Import is a very good second choice.

If you are looking at Thai series specifically, Mik Thongraya dramas are generally pretty good ;

1] Jao Sao Jum Yorm (2018) - Apart from one misunderstanding (that lasts for about 1/2 epsode) once this couple gets married they stay together.

2] Sapai Import (2020) - Another cute flirty couple.

The kisses are the least of this shows worries actually. The fact that every time the leads are finally getting along, the next episode will have something to break them up again. So they do not really get together until the last 20 minutes of the last episode.

Even actresses like Park Bo-Young gets called out for her acting on this site. The strange thing is, that the largest segment of those calling out female actresses (and their characters) seem to be female. So not sure if it could be called sexism, more like jealousy/bitchyness that the female leads (actresses and characters) do not deserve to be with their male idols. Even if the male lead character is a rapist (looking at Thai dramas), the female lead is more likely to be called out than the male lead on here.

no. I gave it another go, but just as he is getting along with her better, suddenly she would do something minor that sets off his entitled petulant anger again and then never explain why he is angry. so i just gave up. i like both main actors, but the male lead character is just too abysmal.

She is forced into being his maid (for a stupid reason). KDramas (and CDramas) love forcing their female leads to be maids for their arseholish male leads. How else are the female leads going to "fall in love" with these misogynistic wankers. And how can these misogynistic wankers accept these female leads unless they are subservient to them.

Her brother is a bit of a waste, and I feel getting so far in debt that it is affecting his sister is certainly worthy of "dislike". His dynamic with his sister though is relatively normal but he himself is not, what with his constantly walking into other peoples apartments & bedrooms. Like seriously who TF walks into a strangers home without an invitation and proceeds into their bedroom?

And if you want weird family dynamics in Chinese fiction, you only have to look at any sister/sister dynamic. It seems in Chinese fiction, a girl having a sister is basically a girl having a mortal enemy. (Strangely in Taiwan fiction, girls having sisters is seen as a normal healthy relationship).

You haven't watched many CDramas then. This is a light middle of the road CDrama. There are a lot of them way worse, eg "Love is Sweet".

um, sleeping with an unconscious person you have no relationship with just because someone else told you they were willing is STILL RAPE.

The female lead in the novel is the total opposite of the female lead in the drama. Smart [novel] vs dumb [drama], Athletic [novel] vs Clumsy [Drama], Independent & rescues herself [novel] vs Clingy & constantly needs to be rescued by the male lead [drama]

As someone who likes the novel, this adaption is terrible. In the novel, the female lead is athletic, brave, smart, competent, independent, has a low opinion of the male lead at the beginning & has a tendency to rescue herself.

In the drama, the female lead is clumsy, cowardly, dumb, incompetent, clingy, falls in love with the male lead at first sight and constantly needs him to rescue her.

The FL does not know martial arts, and is not even a great melee fighter BUT she is good at surprising people who underestimate her physical abilities (enough to let her escape a sticky situation). And as someone else said, she is damn good with a bow.

I like Zhao Liying, but she would be seriously miscast here unless she has a cameo as the older Shen Maio. The transmigrated Shen Maio is a 14-16 year old girl. It is ok to age the character up to 18-20, but having the character be any older than that loses a lot of the setup and theme of the character.

sigh. You are deliberately misrepresenting her here. She made her choice MULTIPLE times, he kept coming back and pushing, guilt-tripping, manipulating her until she gave in and made the choice HE wanted her to make.

The screentime of the 2nd leads is fine. The screentime of the 3rd wheel in the 2nd lead's relationship is not. His solo screentime serves absolutely no purpose and always feels superfluous.

What is up with people constantly saying rating of 7 or 8 out of 10 are "low ratings"?

Probably there should be two ratings, one for first impressions and another for overall impression, but in general I think both are equally valid, (though misleading when merged). But what is worse for me is that there is this really warped idea (mainly influenced by americans) that ratings of 7 or 8 out of 10 is bad.
