Just a too draggy drama with usual annoying female lead and uptight domineering male lead. Female leads both friends…
No, I really do not like the nerdy girl romance (I think it worse than the main romance). Not because of the nerdy girl, but because of the nerdy boyfriend. I just never really liked him. BUT I agree, the best friend and the artist had the best romance plotline, though much like the lead romance I wish they had got together a lot sooner.
When will they officially get together. Can someone spoil me!!
"Officially"? Very late, around Episode 28 I think. BUT unofficially, the ML constantly finds ways to trick/manipulate her into pretending to be his girlfriend (until she realizes what he has done, "breaks up" with him and he moves onto a new trick.
First episode and not liking the fl's mother or her sister. Why is in Thai lakorns they always push the female lead to submit to a rude obnoxious male lead. (Well we know why but it is annoying). And I wish one of these days the female lead in a lakorn will call the police and have the male lead arrested for assault.
Yai is literally the ONLY reason I'm even trying to finish this drama!
Yai has nothing redeemable about him. He is a typical Weir character. This a guy who WILL hit his spouse and children. It is only a matter of time. Then blame them for "making" him hit them.
As frustrating as she is, he is just as bad. "No one loves me or trusts me, even though I'm going out of my way…
Not only that, he does physically assault her multiple times when she is a kid during the flashbacks in the first episode. Everytime he was storming off after a confrontation with his dad/stepmom he was harshly slamming her out of his way as though she was an object. Which is why I despise him. He is a violent bully.
No. They are all stupid. Weir's character is as dumb as the FL. Just run away. Run away!
Weir usually plays stupid misogynist characters so this is really nothing out of the ordinary for him. So I am not why it should matter to you since if you like him, he plays to type here. It is normal for him. The average character Min plays is usually a bit smarter than the average Weir Character but here, she is a dumb as a load of bricks I agree.
How does the FL fall in love with him? Seriously. He is not going to change. Sure he might stay faithful for year max, but the guy is trash. Just like his mother. In fact I advocate incest in this case. The ML and his mother are perfect soul-mates for each other.
For me, this & Jao Sao Jum Yorm (2018) are my favourite Thai Dramas. "Jao Sao Jum Yorm" is another Mik drama and…
Yeah Mik is my favourite Thai actor, partly because of his characters. Min and Pooklook are my favourite Thai actresses and I wonder if part of that is because they are both in Mik Dramas where his character is sweet and dedicated to his love from the start.
The sisters are not twins, and that is one of two huge plot holes in "Charming StepMom (the other involves the fiance). And despite the main leads having good chemistry, the second couple is rather offputting and icky.
In fact, I would rather recommend "Terius Behind Me (2018)" if we are going for step-parents. It is about a secret agent who ends up the babysitter of his widowed neigbour's kids. It is a lot more fun and the romance is cuter, though a bit more subtle. BUT it is a Korean drama and not Thai.
What is up with Thai dramas making the male leads Misogynists? I don't mean sexist, I mean full on misogynists (ie they hate and distrust women). ug. I like Min and Om but I just can't with this synopsis. The guy hates women because his mom left him. And he is supposed to be the male lead?
I think they spent way too much time on the creepy Bantao/Namfon pairing. It is not just an icky plotline, but it is also a dull one. If you fast forward the bits with those two, this is not too bad as the two leads are enjoyable when they are bouncing off each other or the children. But whenever the creepy uncle (Bantao) appears not even the leads can make him interesting let alone palatable.
But this really needs the "Fantasy" tag. Because the reasons for the ML to disguise himself in front of his family and avoid them for years; and the reason for the fl to move into the ml's house are all fantasy.
I'm halfway through and I just don't understand what her sister was thinking ..... I mean it's not like they look…
And he deliberately targeted and stalked her whilst being aware of who she was and her age from the start. The guy is a creep.
Now as long as people are legal adults I usually do not care about age differences. For example the age difference in Goblin did not bother me. But here, the age difference was coupled with the facts that a) it is his friend's daughter, and b) he did not fall in love with her after knowing her, he bloody chased her from the start when all he knew was her age and her identity as his friend's daughter.
Ok, When does the female lead find out the male lead's identity? Because I need the male lead to stop coming off as an angry entitled incel. And since he is acting this way because the fl shouted at him once when they were kids hopefully he stops acting like an arsehole when it is finally revealed.
80% of the time the female lead was really annoying. Other than that it wasn't too bad.
hmm, interesting, because 80% of the time i found the male lead an entitled arsehole with incel tendencies. So if according to me the male lead was bad and according to you the female lead was bad, which parts were not bad?

The great thing about Mik's dramas is that you can be sure his characters will NOT be using rape as a "seduction technique".
I am sorry I can not think of any. You might like "Charming Step-Mom" but that is about a woman pretending to be her sister who ends up taking care of her sister's fiance's kids.
Is the Female lead only going to stop being a victim in the last episode? This is god-damn frustrating. I do not believe she was ever in love with the ML (and he certainly was not with him) so wtf does she constantly believe him. ffs.
Sadly the female lead gets dumber every episode. And each episode you think, she can't get any dumber can she, but she can.
And she seems to be less his bodyguard and more his maid. And though she grumbles about it, she accepts being his maid as if she does not know the difference between being a maid and being a bodyguard. By the end she is weak and passive as the male lead gaslights her.
