For me, the issue is that there is no one who is likeable. And everyone is dumb. The FL in particular is dumb AND passive which are always a terrible combination of traits to have in a lead.

well, Americans always drag things out. The American version of the good Doctor did not give the ml a girlfriend until season 3.

Does the FL's family still get away scot-free with conspiracy to rape? To me, the ML's ex is nothing compared to the FL's family. I am glade they did away with that plotline in the Chinese version.

I was not saying the drama has been "messed up" by the changes (we won't know until the end), and to be honest, being pretty faithful to the source material and being unfaithful, can both work and both not work. I was just disagreeing with the premise that changes are always determined by the change in medium when it is not always the case

That may be true, BUT it is also true that adaptions (Korean, American, British, Japanese) often change things purely because the screenwriter/director has no interest in the source material and is just interested in their own spin on it.

i am on episode 3 and i am pretty confused about the 2fl. What is her relationship with the ml? Is she his boss or wife? She seems to have no issues with telling him what to do or sending what i though were his employees away. Does he not own his restaurant or something?

I think that is because a) Rowoon's character in that drama was more of a supporting character. Eun Dan Oh was the clear central character and it was her that carried a lot of the scenes; and b) Rowoon's character was a bit blank slate, so it did not require a high level of acting ability. But he is pretty, so he will always get praised.

Nah, Viki subbing is too American. I vastly prefer Netflix subbing. Netflix also an American company does not feel the need to translate things like 112 to 911. How stupid must Americans be that they need an emergency number "translated" to 911.

Most Chinese dramas diverge pretty heavily from the Novels they are adapted from. "Dance of the Phoenix" turns an independent woman who rescues herself & who dislikes the ML; into a damsel in distress, that needed to be rescued by the ML every five minutes and falls in love with him at first sight. "Once we get Married" was nothing like the novel except some character names, it actually improved the novel massively though(novel was trash).

Prequel with the same cast makes no sense. It becomes an entirely different genre if they do that. Because season one is when they met each other and the monsters. You either do a sequel with the old cast or a prequel with a new cast.

The issue that bothered me is because you focused on trying to tell me something I already knew, then gave a dictionary definition of it, when I had made no comment about whether it was a satire or not. I am very aware of what satire is; from "A Modest Proposal" to "Animal Farm", from "A Business Proposal", to "Whats Wrong With Secretary Kim", from subtle to parody.

Is it deliberate that the FL's senior is a terrible child psychologist? I find him very unlikeable, not because he is part of the love triangle but the fact he is terrible at his job. Seriously why did he go into this field. He is a terrible pet owner too.

You gave a motivation to the producers that they were trying for realism with a plot point. They are NOT going for realism anywhere. Whether it is satire or not, I fundamentally disagreed with your premise that they were going for realism. You then came back with the non sequitur.

That is what i thought this was an adaption of at first.

The Child character is way too uncanny valley for me. He comes off as a creepy caricature of a real child. But then I have read way too many CNovels and cute, precocious, genius 4-6 year old boys are everywhere and are all exactly the same as each other along with this character.

Sapai Import is great, but it is only my second favourite Thai "Contract Marriage" drama. You do not seem to have my favourite which is Jao Sao Jum Yorm (2018)

it sounds like you are saying they separated due to noble idiocy. Noble Idiocy is the single worse reason for break-ups. It is way worse than fights and even worse than amnesia.
