The Male lead is constantly going "oh are my parents dead, i am too late to save them, i am useless, are they really dead", in an internal monologue. They turn out to be alive of course.
Then 10 minutes later, another 5 minute internal monologue of "oh are my parents really dead. I couldn't save them. Are they really dead. I am useless. I couldn't save them". - They turn out to be alive this time as well if you couldn't guess.
I am two episodes in, and i have a question. Are the other episodes full of over-emotional cheapshots like the first two episodes? Scenes supposed to be dramatic, but coming across as cringey instead. The ML's scenes with his parents feel particularly egregious. Instead of making the audience "emotional" during those scenes they just make the audience cringe. (see below)
I agree, except I refuse to accept "strong" as an adjective for a female character unless she is physically strong.…
I do not think it needs an "alternative" as such, since i feel it is a trait that should be expected as it is with male characters. I would much rather turn it around, apply an antonym adjective to those with "doormat/damsel in distress personalities". Strange as it may seem, i think "weak-willed woman" is a much better turn of phrase than "strong woman". It then makes the "weak-willed woman" the unusual, the outlier. Even then, i prefer "passive" instead of "weak willed".

Come on now, lets not be disingenuous here. The op is NOT using "strong" in the context of her physicality. They are using it in regards to her character/personality/mentality, which is NEVER used in the same context it is used in regards to a male character.
That is not to say the OP is being sexist or dismissive of women, just that "strong" has become an ubiquitous description to refer to female characters as "strong" as if it is an attribute that is extraordinary for a woman to possess. Most people rarely think about what the use of the word is suggesting; that a "strong" woman is NOT a trait ordinary woman possess.
Example of some dramas with mysogynist male leads??
Not all of them use it, but a lot of do. Luckily there are some Thai actors that you know if they are starring, you know there will be no "rape as seduction technique"
Terrible summary above. What is this show about? The above summary seems to be just the background of the three main characters. It does little to tell you what the show is about. Is it about them killing the people they don't like; or about them bonding and complaining about their undesirables.
Example of some dramas with mysogynist male leads??
I generally do not think "misogynistic male leads" are all that common in KDramas, certainly not like they are in CDramas. But there a few. "Secret Garden" and both versions of "Something about the 1%" very much come to mind.
Undemanding...that's what I would use to describe this cute-fluffy drama where main leads are almost always together…
i would generally use the word "suffocating" when a story (book, tv series, movie) have the central romantic pair always together in scene. I do not mind if they get together early but if they have no sense of existence distinct from each other i will probably skip
This is a very good drama. First episode was struggling to see if did like both male and female Lead but honestly…
I have only just started this drama but i am struggling with how poor the strategic purchasing team is. Take away the male lead and we have; 2 interns who only started the day before, a lazy woman who pays little attention in team meetings and a weak team leader who is subservient to his underling. How is this a top strategic team at a huge corporation?
3 episodes in; liking this but this is one of the worse financial strategy teams i have ever seen. A big corporation goes out of their way to hire a financial genius (the male lead) to lead a project to purchase a big hotel and they give him the worst inhouse strategy team to assist him. 2 interns who were only hired the day before, a lazy girl who pays no attention during strategy meetings and a weak team leader. Does this corporation really want to purchase the hotel?
even though they say this is a remake of the KDrama "somethingintherain" the general plot is the same: guy from…
Chinese Dramas and Webnovels love their pseudo-incest. I guess it is lucky he is not her step-uncle.
And i there was/is a tradition in China of adopting child daughters as child brides for sons. A tradition so infamous for it's poor success rate that it is a posterchild for the Westermark Effect
I still don't understand how he doesn't have an allergic reaction when she's around him, I don't know if I missed…
in "I'm Not a Robot" it is because his allergy is actually mental affliction that has a physical component. He is "allergic" because he has a deep fear/distrust of humans (from an incident as a child). Since he thinks she is not human, his "allergy" has not kicked in.
I just finished watching a Cdrama with a very strong FL who’s smart, confident, and beautiful. It’s called…
i tried watching that but i thought the ML and pretty much the entire class except the FL were all awful. But the show tried to present that it was the FL who was wrong/ awful and the ML and the class who were right. Absolutely frustrating. I gave up after episode 2.
I watched all 19 episodes yesterday. I am amazed by Zhou Yi Ran's acting. I am convinced there is a male soul…
Is this one of those body swap shows where the actors are acting as a generic member of the opposite sex instead of what the other actor has already portrayed the character as? Or are the actors actually acting as each other?
For me, the issue is that there is no one who is likeable. And everyone is dumb. The FL in particular is dumb…
I actually liked the fl in My Secret Romance. But I also thought she did not really have "passive" as a defining character trait like Woori does. Weak can be fine in a FL, as can stupidity. But combining those with passive really makes it hard for a character to be likeable imo.
