I would continue. It looked a bit cheap to me as well in the beginning but it improves. I'm not sure if it is Bled Castle but in one scene KRW looks over a beautiful lake from a castle. I think Ljubljana is shown briefly too and it is a pretty town. I'm liking the story thus far (episode 1) even though the fantasy element is still a bit confusing to me. The production values are not as high as Goblin but I think it is still work a watch.

I didn't even notice the scar being absent. I think your theory makes sense. There are so many different story lines going on but they all seem to be connected.

Eh... I don't know that I'd necessarily blame Go Ah Ra. I don't think her character is written that well. She just has too many damsel in distress scenes. It seems like someone is saving her every episode.

It would be really fitting if 444 was Joon but they found Joon's body. Also what about the first scene of the series when he swam underwater to a car and said something about it being his body in the car? I'm pretty confused right now.

Agreed. Normally I adore movies like this but I just couldn't buy their romance at all. It was sooo rushed and I didn't understand why they needed to get married right away. 16 is way too young to be getting married anyways. That just doesn't make sense.

I don't think it was the age gap that bothered the reviewer so much as the "insta love" that resulted in a marriage proposal so soon after meeting. I also found it hard to suspend belief because of that reason and normally I love age gap romances.

Agreed. The plot holes are problematic. I don't specifically look for plot holes when drama watching b/c I only watch dramas for fun and I like being able to shut my brain off for a while. The fact that I am still seeing all these plot holes is problematic. That being said, I love the premise of the drama and the black humor. I also love the reaper character. I'll probably still keep watching at least a few more eps to see if it gets better (I'm on ep 4).

Doctors kind of plays into that theme. They never begin a relationship when they are student/teacher. They meet about 10 years later working together as doctors and that is when they begin their relationship.

Oh my! How did I miss an American remake of Boys over Flowers? Seems like I dodged a bullet there. Yes, I think in general the West does a terrible job remaking East Asian films/movies- other Asian countries seem to do a better job.

I wouldn't support student/teacher relationships in real life but I enjoy watching dramas/movies about it. Of the above I loved The Innocent Witch, Kou Kou Kyoushi (both versions), Doctors, and Secret Love Affair. I would also recommend Tenshi no Koi (My Rainy Days) which involves a high school student and a college professor. It is a really touching movie.

If I remember correctly, you can play Japanese DVDs on American DVD players. You just have to switch the DVD region. You have to be careful though b/c you can only switch it a few times and then it becomes stuck on that DVD region. I've never done it myself so I don't know how hard it is.
