I'm never in a drama slump because I tend to switch country every now and then... So I have a great drama balance!…
Why not try "Autumn Concerto"?
It's a bit of a classic, with quite a few cliches, but I believe it's worth it. A very romantic story, with lovely landscapes too. :)
OMG! this is the best anti-slump advice I have ever gotten and I have been watching for 9 yrs now. Your points…
Yes, popularity can be a double-edge sword for a drama. Some choose to watch it because it is, some to NOT watch it for the same reason. Lately (that is, yesterday, lol), I found out that even too much discussion on a drama can be detrimental to a genuine liking. At times it's hard to distance ourselves from the opinion of others and form our own in a totally independent way.
By the way, good to read you, Aria. :)
good article, i go in phases as well with TV some days im really craving drama like i need it so bad and after…
I'm a little like this too. Because I need to feel intensely, I also get easily deprived of energy, be it laughter, tears or simple angst. Perhaps the same happens to you, you fear... "tepid", and this is why your mind is always looking for something new and different that can light up your emotions.
Slumps are always lurking in tepidity, at least for me. :)
Ahh, the last one is the most difficult. I haven't succeeded yet. I'm always talking about it but the biggest…
Ohhhhh, I can sooooo relate to this.
I lured my husband into the drama world with King 2 Hearts, almost 4 years ago. Because it had shortly aired in Korea, no Italian subs were available, so I ended up translating it all, with the sole purpose of showing it to him and my mom. Both were deterred by subs, but they got used to them a lot faster than they had expected.
And just like you, while translating I ended up rewatching the whole drama by myself, then with my husband and then with my mom, lol.
I think I know the script by heart.
So you see, don't feel too lonely in that long way of yours: you're not. :)
OK i wanted to stand up and say " hi, I am peacewon and I am a drama addict" LOLOL You nailed EVERYTHING.…
Thank you for your lovely and funny reply. :)
Wow, rewatching a 54 episode drama multiple times isn't a task, it's a challenge! ;) But I know the feeling very well and after such a heated enthusiasm, a setback is almost inevitable.
Good luck with your next watch, then. May the gods of wuxia sweep you up again and find you a flying buddy! :D
I really like this article! Very cute, I'll remember this for when I finish Queen Seon Deok!
You already know it's going to cause you withdrawal symptoms? Many consider it the best Saeguk ever made ( I myself don't know, I haven't seen it), so I suppose it'll be hard to find something that lives up to it.
I'd watch a short Japanese comedy after it. :D
Good article! :) Really do agree with the drop without regret point - I do this a lot with other things and it…
I haven't been notified of any of the comments or the replies either. I have to come back here every half an hour, looking like some kind of megalomaniac who needs to re-read her own article 100 times over. :P
lol the 5th one haha, personally I fangirl-ed for 3 years to my sister about kdramas and then when i started to…
It's nice to share the pleasure, isn't it?
I can even appreciate a drama a little more when I'm watching it in company, because I try to see things through the eyes of the other. Newbies are usually a lot more lenient and teach me some patience. :D
I love your article ^^ It is so true even if I don't think it's a bad idea to watch less dramas from time to time…
You're right. I still remember when I complained I couldn't get out of the obsession and considered joining a therapy group, lol. You know, something like "Hi everyone, I'm a drama addict. I've been sober for a week now..."
*Claps and cheers*
;)
"It took me a lot of patience and, at times, brute force, to persuade a few of them to give it a try."…
LOL, and I wasn't kidding about the brutality of my deeds. I literally forced a whole drama down my best friend's throat (well, her laptop, to be more precise), and kept on calling her to ask whether she had watched the first episode! I had so many drama stalkers to learn from, after all! ;)
Now we are at a point in our firiendship when she calls me only to know when the next dose is due, ungrateful thing! ;);)
*went straight to reading* *stopped in the middle* Aaahhh I know this writing style!!! *goes to the top* I knew…
Bravo Pretty Akai!!! The OST!
I know many don't put too much importance into the music of a drama, but I do. An Ost can be that decisive aspect of a show that makes me love it to bits or get annoyed with.
Huge hugs! ♥
I agree with the "Drop without regret" - did it as watching "current airing drama" just because…
Exactly.:D
You know when they say: you have to give your all to make your love relationship work. But if it becomes, as you put it, an obligatory job, what's the point of all the struggle?
I'm a little fixated with the analogy... sorry, lol.
Hey, good to see you writing articles again! I've learned the second rule after my 50th drama. Dramas are better…
We do.
It helps regaining a modicum of balance and can even be beneficial to my real love life... if only my husband weren't one of the monsters I mention in the article, lol. ;)

We are a cool club, aren't we? :D

Are you in love right now, by the way? :D
Ah, the Boys Over Flower baptism: who hasn't gone through it?
What does not kill you will make you stronger - or pickier. ;);)
