So I completed it. Lovely, lovely, lovely drama. I'm quite sad I won't be seeing those people anymore, I could have easily done with more episodes. It was a sweet ride, full of heart.
By the by, do you know why it's related to Flower Boy Ramyun Shop? Because there's flower in both titles? Honestly, I can't seem to find a bond, and yet everybody talks about the two as if they were related. I haven't had the slightest desire to watch the ramyun shop, as it seems to me it's the typical rom-com... not my cup of tea.
Have you seen it? :)

Thank you my dear, yours is beautiful! Are the pictures from Yerevan? Wonderful! :)
As for Shut Up flower..., I'll definitely let you know what I think. I was contemplating to write episode reviews, but I'm marathoning through it and enjoying it a lot, I am not in the mood to sit, ponder and write down. This is a drama to be... drunken in one shot (or a couple, lol)
But, like you, I'm mesmerized by the friendship, by the heart of it all and even by a certain "japanese" flair to it. I don't even know how to explain it, but thisis the kind of drama I would expect from japanese, who are masters in putting friendship on screen. And because, despite my loving Korean dramas to pieces I have this "thing" for Japanese ones, I consider it an added bonus. ;)

Apparently, we were both too lazy to check. ;)
Whatever: thank you for accepting. :D

By the by, I'm in a drama slump too - it happens to me every time after watching a drama I truly fell in love with. But today I started Shut Up Flower boy band and have been captivated from minute 1. I was going to suggest this to you on the thread you opened in the recommendation forum, but you have watched it! And loved it, from the look of your rate. :D

Violeeeeet!!! :D
I'm watching Shut Up Flower Boy Band right now and since I thought it was brilliant from minute 1, I went reading a couple of reviews and found yours. Why didn't you tell me there was this gem of a drama in the forest of silly K-music things?
I love it!!
Off I go to watch episode 4. Hugs!
;)

Finally someone who hasn't rated My Girlfriend is a Gumiho a 10. I still believe an 8 is too lenient, but your review is a pleasure for a detractor of that drama like me.
Thank you! :D

Ah, so it is one of those dramas... I'm not a fan of lies or misunderstandings dragged for too long, they frustrate me. I suppose goong will stay on my ptw or on hold list long enough. Honestly, I doubt I'll ever be able to make that list much shorter. New dramas appeal to me more (at least k-dramas). They are finally starting to create females who appeal to my taste more: less whining, stronger, and smarter. Or so it seems/I hope. :P

So, why did you give it an 8? :D

Indeed, we have a lot of taste in common. :D
Then let me be useful one more time and recommend you NOT to watch "The Intimate Lover". Not only it's very explicit, but it's also a totally pointless movie, with no plot other than those two exercising on every available surface.
I can't remember how I landed on that film for the life of me, LOL. But if any of your sources mentioned it, I suggest you elaborate your idea of disturbingly dark. ;););)

Sorry, I couldn't help but laugh at your latest review. I've read the other two about sexually explicit movies and I think you should either change your source of recommendation, or surrender to the fact that it's your destiny to warn us all. LOL
To clarify, I didn't laugh at your review, I laughed at the premise.
Your reviews are extremely well written, I always enjoy reading them. :)

Thank you, Jeanie. :D I'm really glad you like and read them, they would be even funnier if I remembered everything she comments while watching, haha. It's a true pleasure to have someone in the flesh appreciating asian dramas: it's a new experience to me too, and makes me watch something I know well with different eyes.
The best part of it is that she watches with her normal critical sense but without prejudices and no expectations, except being carried away by a story and the way it is told. It's refreshing; no "ah, this is dragging", or "I wish the plot would go in that direction instead of the other one", no mention of chemistry or cliches. She reminds me of myself when I started watching. :D

Are you immersed in something good? ;)

In Secret Garden, on ep.2, Joo Won stands with his back to his library and the titles of the books appear in overlay, forming a sort of poem in itself. That is the moment I thought: this will be one of my favourite dramas.

I have never read Sei Shonnagon, but I've noted it down right away. Thank you for recommending it! :D

Novels and poetry references, on the other hand, are one of my deepest indulgences. It's always been, since I was a child and used to read the Donald Duck comix. Whenever they would mention a book, an author, a passage, I would go into a frenzy to find out about it.
One of my favourite psychologist is also a writer, his name's Aldo Carotenuto. He writes wonderful essays on the dark side of the mind, full of references to Dostoevskij, Levi, Nietzsche, Kafka and less known autors and poets, and to me it's like jumping into a pool of new doors to open and new things to discover.
One of the very first Asian movies I saw it's "Turn Left, Turn Right" with Takeshi Kaneshiro. In it, the female protagonist is a translator of Wislawa Szymborska, and this is how I got to know my favourite poet, 7 or 8 years ago.

Hahaha, thank you so much for your feedback, Bladey. By the way: do I have to keep on calling you this? Unless you tell me your real name, I'll start calling you Jae Shin, because for some reason when I think of you I imagine her. For both loving Si Kyeong, perhaps? ;);)
But what's in a name? Is a rose... etc etc.
Sorry, I'm not drunk, I swear.
With words, just like you, I have likes and dislikes which depend a lot from the people saying it, but now and then from the word in itself too, and its... wavelenght, probably. Ottokke on top of it is mainly used by dumb females not knowing what to do after splitting a fingernail. The kind of scenario I've seen too often in K-dramas and can very well do without. :P

She's a blast. You should witness her encounters with my man: they share the same kind of no-nonsense humour and their dialogues often sounds like JooWon vs. Oska, to give you an idea. LMAO
She's also very pragmatic, which makes her commentaries at times so surreal I'm left speechless. Hahaha.
When Si Kyeung kissed Jae Shin she commented: "finally! Was he waiting for her to start running towards him?"
So morbid, but I couldn't help it: I laughed.
Oh, and she absolutely adored their piggyback ride. She's totally new to them, and I have to say this one was one of the best piggyback rides ever. So sweet.
*sigh*
