Where are you guys watching this? I watch it on VIU and last night's episode ended at the part where Zero Ten…
I watch it on VIU too and I've noticed the difference in cutting points too. It seems VIU is airing the original version while SBS trimmed it down. Something similar happened to Scarlet Heart too. Usually k- broadcasting stations shorten dramas that have low ratings, but foreign streaming sites keep the original because they already subbed it.
I'm always skeptical about Shin Se Kyung. Her acting ain't that great neither are her dramas, so if she were someone else she would have lost her place as a lead actress already. Can't help but to attribute her success with her wealth and family background.
(I don't hate her, I'm just cautious about whether I should really watch this)
How is this a 7.9? I know it's not the next Descendants of the Sun, but it's not that bad. A below 8 rating on MDL is very low and usually only dramas with an extremely cliche plot, a horrible ending, or a plot that's all over the place would get that. This drama has none of these fatal problems. I admit it's been progressing a bit too slowly, but the main course has just been served and we're starting to see some interesting plot development recently.
That Lee Jong Suk story is interesting, I'm a longtime shawol but I've never come across the story that he was…
From my understanding, LJK wanted to debut solely as an actor, while MH pursued acting as a SHINee member. Maybe SM thought LJS was better off as an idol and wasn't willing to invest into him as an actor.
They lose the money. Gov has highest power in China, so if dramas with Koreans are banned they are never getting aired (until KR CN relations get better maybe)
It's hard to imagine what it would have been like if they had debuted under those groups. Plus it's not certain if they'd even make the cut, since groups usually experience a big change in the final member lineup before they debut (I think around 10 people claimed they almost debuted under Girls' Generation, so yeah) IMO all of these actors/actresses chose the best path for themselves and they're doing a great job acting.
I can't understand why people are rating this low on purpose just because they dislike bot X human relationships or want the FL to be with the second ML. If they can't accept the genre/main tags of the story and the lead relationship they shouldn't be watching in the first place because this is really what the drama is about. Plus 09 is a sentient being capable of experiencing emotions so it's not like falling in love with a home appliance.
Love the symbolic meaning of the story's title. The family is not only stealing literally, they are also "stealing" a space in society to live and have family. They are outcasts of society and everyone sees them as dishonest criminals, but their bonding is much realer than anyone can imagine and their emotions the most sincere. They can't call each other a family and nobody outside would recognize them as a family, but they are more family than a real family. The message is beautiful and thought-provoking.
There's a lot of hate towards the FL here, but having watched all three versions of this drama, I actually think the korean ver FL is the nicest? The other ones pretty much ignored the ML's favours without much appreciation at all. At least Dada was grateful most of the time from the start and only felt annoyed when the ML was overly passionate and crossed the line or did stupid things that she had to follow up with.
why do korean dramas have to always mock chinese people like that......
Maybe they were unable to cast someone who was native so they just had a Korean who knew a little bit of Chinese to stand in? Dunno. I'm Chinese but I didn't find it offensive. I actually giggled when he talked. Maybe there were other more racist k-dramas you've watched, but I feel like this one wasn't that bad.
if they cast an actual fugly no soul would watch it
Agreed. They could have used makeup to make her "uglier", like giving her braces/protruding teeth/full face acne/big scar or burnt mark on her face, etc. Not saying that people having these characteristics are ugly, but just some things can be added to change up her face so that she's not just the normal Park Bo Young that people recognize her as
I think Young Goo bringing Dada to the beach is just his dream or something. That was such a sudden change of…
Sometimes k-dramas cut away some parts to make the episode end in a cliffhanger. Then they add back the missing part in the next episode to explain what actually happened in the middle that led up to the cliffhanger.
(I don't hate her, I'm just cautious about whether I should really watch this)
But the rest of the drama is innocent D:
He's a sentient being so he should be respected like a human
As a Cantonese speaker, listening to Soo Geun is hilarious XD
