I mean, Eun Gi is just a silly boy lovesick over Duk Mi. When he came to the woodwork shop, if anything, he actually…
I have a different view actually. I think both Choi Da In and Eungi are doing dirty to the couple, it's just that Choi Da In is better at it. The fact that Eungi failed to split their relationship (and even mistakenly strengthened it) doesn't change his intentional tricks. Plus he was the one who told Choi Da In about the fake dating. That's tactful cuz he csn then team up with Choi Da In to break them apart. Either Choi Da In and Eungi are both wrong for meddling with two people who are clearly in love, or both are not wrong for loving a person and wanting to compete for that person.
Am sure you talking about the apron.. You naughty naughty...Why does it matter if he is sexy or not.... It the…
Whether suitable actors were chosen for characters also matters and could affect the plot presentation. Imo not everyone is suitable to be the robot, but Yeo Jin Goo is a fair choice :)
I don't think it's confirmed, but they say that the second season will air from late Dec to early Jan, and third season is unknown but probably a few months after the second season.
I wonder why they have to split it into three seasons even though each season only has 6 episodes? And the seasons are aired sooo far apart from one another... I wonder how that would affect the appreciation value.
I was skeptical about Yeo Jin Goo playing Night Tenjo at the first cuz he doesn't have the sexy vibe, but after watching the latest trailers I think he's pulling it off better than I expected. He kind of reminds me of Jiro in the taiwanese version of Absolute Boyfriend. I'm getting more hyped about this :D
Garrrgg I KNEW IT!! Another fake kiss! PD really loves to tease us, hmph .\_/. (But I think my heart just exploded cuz they still kissed irl at least X_X)
Both are good questions, Amy.1. The dramas we included here as "romance" were simply the ones who had the genre…
Thanks for your clarification! I find it very convincing with the numbers given that the popular dramas are mostly romance-heavy ones and it's even better having taken into account the overlapping of genres. Really good article! Looking forward to see the list you compiled :)
Hi Amy! Thanks for reading ^^ To answer your first question, the overall definition of the Romance genre is that…
Thanks for your information! I feel like romance in kdramas have been a popular theme for over 20 years, and was probably the major reason why kdramas have become globally recognised. Romance appeals especially to female audiences as well, which is likely the main target demographic of kdramas, and it never gets old, so I can see why writers would keep milking something that is successful.
This is a VERY comprehensive article and I can tell a lot of time and effort was put into this. Thanks for giving us the interesting information!
I just have two questions: 1) What dramas are defined as romance dramas? (Is any drama that has romance elements in it a romance drama, or does romance have to be its main theme?) 2) A potential bias in the statistics about the popularity of romance may be caused by the fact that some popular dramas that have romance but not as the main theme are being counted as romance dramas. (Like... Maybe they aren't popular or rated highly because of the romance, but because of the other genre tags.)
I'm sure that romance is truly the most popular genre and the main reason why people would prefer a drama over the other, but there is also a possibility of over-counting of the effects of the romance genre on people's preferences due to a blurred line between romance-centric and non-romance-centric dramas that happen to have romantic side elements.
It's a really cute drama and I'm digging the romance. Kim Jae Wook is very handsome and suitable for the role and the leads have good chemistry. I like it way more than What's Wrong With Secretary Kim.
I watched the japanese version many years ago and I bawled like a baby. I couldn't get over it for a whole week. I really wanna watch this one but I'm afraid I'll be heartbroken again :(
I see that you're a fan of Ashes of Love! That's my favorite drama! We seem to have a similar taste :)
- Strong Woman Do Bong Soon
- Queen In Hyun's Man
- I'm Not a Robot
- Because This is My First Life
- Are You Human Too
(But I think my heart just exploded cuz they still kissed irl at least X_X)
Betting that this one gets a better ending to mend my poor heart...
