Yan Xun's character development has ended. His trait and goal are sealed in the Icy Lake incident. No more room for development. What remains to be seen in the next episodes is the result of his choices. And, it will be his downfall.

Had they cast an older actress, I bet we would still complain. This is what we usually do when watching Cdrama.

I think this Chun'er is an alternate version of Chun'er. In my view, in Princess Agents, her character was depicted as having closure, accepting her ill fate, and moving on. Her character matures through failure and bitterness. Here, she still has a grudge, and her story remains open to an unknown ending.

Storywise, it is unbelievable that, after that heavy fall from grace, she would instantly and easily regain power. Also, her madness is too explosive, more like a childish tantrum. She just lost the charm of a fallen princess. She has every reason to stay away from palace politics, but the story draws her into another vicious cycle. This type of character rarely gets redemption. She will end badly.

Agree! Rebirth has more believable female generals than any other drama so far.

It is not bad. People are just divided into 3 camps.

1. Have watched Princess Agents, but disappointed by the fact that the old casts do not resume the roles. They complain about the casts a lot, not the story.

2. Haven't watched Princess Agents and treat Rebirth as a stand alone project. They are confused because Rebirth is actually a continuation of PA. They just don't get what the story really is, and expect it is a romance with LYR as main lead like in Blossom. They complain everything.

3. Haven't watched PA and waited for its continuation. They enjoy Rebirth.

The 7+ rating comes from those who complain and feel disappointment. It is better for you to understand the why behind the rating. It is not the story and production that bad. People just are different in their experience, expectation, and enjoyment.

You just rewatch and enjoy PA then. You don't have to know what will happen after the Icy Lake. I personally won't miss Rebirth. I am so curious about the final.

The story has multiple POVs. Every episode covers at least one scene about each important character. It is not a highly character-driven drama like POJ.

I am too busy to read the comments and argue with haters. I enjoy watching it alone in calm atmosphere.
