In these early episodes of Rebirth (up to episode 7), many viewers are still struggling to accept the show. There’s a lot of distrust toward the cast, the production, the story—everything. Expectations are clearly high. But honestly, the comparisons and criticisms are normal. There’s a nine-year gap since Princess Agents; it is almost a decade. Many viewers now are younger or new, or they’ve forgotten the original story, or have been influenced by other popular dramas they believe have “set a higher bar,” whatever that means.
The early disappointment is understandable. They simply don’t have the same memory, background, or nostalgia from when Princess Agents was at its peak. They didn’t feel the heartbreak of watching Yue and Xing repeatedly separated, or the longing for a continuation and the promised happy ending. They didn’t experience that lingering feeling of being left hanging for years at that cliff in the Icy Lake. And so, they may not share the same patience or the satisfaction of finally seeing the story continue.
For those of us who genuinely care about the Princess Agents/ Rebirth story, it’s not wise to argue with viewers who see things differently. People come with different experiences, and those experiences shape how they judge the show. In the end, the drama itself will prove whether it deserves our love or criticism, and we still have many episodes ahead. Princess Agents once proved that it carries depth in its themes and storytelling. I believe Rebirth will offer that same kind of value.
People why does my girl xia meng never get role where her character gets a lover i watched 2 dramas and both so…
Chun'er was played by Li Qin in Princess Agents. Chun'er as character is the most heart breaking in my view. She was such a beloved Princess, kind, and naive. She loves Yan Xun genuinely. But Yan Xun chose the path of revenge and use their wedding to rebel. He break the marriage, leaving Chun'er devastated. She tried to pursue him, but in the way she met some bad guys. They deflowered her and torture her prince brother who tried to save her. She later become vangeful. She even led an army to fight Yan Xun, but defeated. She was demoted as commoner, but still tried to kill Yan Xun. In Rebirth, we see her as a mad woman, but she is the product of a tragedy told in Princess Agents. I found the new young actress playing her character is quite well. We still have many episodes to learn how she evolves.
This is a proper 40 episode drama and a 11 year age gap.So is the novel any good? For me to start watching it?…
I read the novel but don't enjoy the story too much because it is a transmigration story. The FL has memory and ability of a modern woman. The drama adaptation doesn't follow this, and create a kind of wuxia-political story instead. We see how the FL builds her skill under ML's guidance and protection. The moment of their partings are truly heart breaking. When FL finally understand that she loves ML, peaked in frozen lake tragedy, it is really really heart breaking. So, it feels like a healing to see they will meet again in Rebirth.
they should have just made a remake version this looks like a sequel people wont be able to connect with the character…
The original story is massive. They should not make a remake. Not efficient. I prefer a continuation/ sequel that cover the second part of the story. If you want to connect with the past, just watch Princess Agents.
In my view, it is primarily a continuation. But, to help new viewers understand what happened previously, they put some flashbacks in episode 1-2. If you want to know more about the past events, I suggest you to watch Princess Agents. It is free on Youtube.
I watched Princess Agents. The ending is a cliffhanger, makes me dig into the novel. Now, we have Rebirth. It is truly a blessing for a fan like me who have waited for the "second season" for years. I cannot complain. I am grateful.
