This drama could have been a hit... I will never forgive them for ruining such a beautiful series with a compelling…
The success of a drama depends on the attitude of viewers. You could have more positive view about Rebirth and 1.000 more viewer like you would turn the tide. Have a good watch.
Hi, Friend! Well, then, welcome to another heavy drama. 😁 Yes, this drama has complicated plot and story because…
Six supporting characters died till this point. 1. Miss Hong Yu 2. Li Ce 3. The evil empress of Biantang + her lover 4. The usurper of Biantang throne 5. Lingyue Queen + all her loyalists 6. King Ximeng
I totally agreed with Anitfa’s comment on this drama. However if you didn’t watch season 1, then watching…
In my eyes, Rebirth has slightly changed the genre to be less wuxia. They omit typical wuxia elements we saw in PA, like internal force, flying skill, hidden jutsu, and highly choreographed fights. Rebirth leans more on realistic elements such as militerism, palace politics, people struggle, and war. The action sequences are not so elaborated, but the plot progression is good.
For me, this change is acceptable. PA itself is a product of genre adaptability, from transmigration story (the novel) to wuxia.
I just finished all my heavy dramas and I haven’t started this yet but how goes it? It seems pretty complicated…
The complication is not about the amount of character, but its status as the continuation of Princess Agents. If you haven't watched PA before so you don't know the context surrounding the main characters, jumping right into Rebirth would cost you some confusion and sense of disconnection. But if you have watched PA, there is high possibility that you will feel disappointment because of the differences regarding names, settings, casts, etc. So, this drama is really unfortunate. It is aired not long after the super popular POJ, it is object to comparison, and requires some background knowledge to enjoy and appreciate it. The story itself is so good, dark and bloody, realistic with clear grand objective. The production quality is decent, it is fast paced, and efficient. But, people just cannot watch it due to the reasons I stated before.
Ep 1 thoughts- yan comes across as an overall better character and ML compared to the actual ml. He has an intriguing…
Episode 1 is the result of things happened in previous project (PA). No matter you agree or not, this is a PA plotline continuation.
In ep 1, we can understand Yan Xun better because they provided enough flashbacks about him that happened in PA. Unfortunately, no flashback for Zhuge Yue to help us understand his temperament.
Had you ever watched PA and followed his character closely, this is no problem (in my case, I can easily connect his character here and there). For new viewers that treat Rebirth as stand alone, yeah that is the curse. They are losing much context.
Zhuge Yue's character seems archetypal, but a real story reader would move beyond what is apparent. His coldness is his outer clothes. In the interior, there are tons of responsibility as the heir of a spy family office, moral conflict against his own family and the king, desperateness and acceptance when facing Yan Xun (his best friend) and Xing'er (his love) hate toward him, and sacrifices he has to make. This complexities, the internal conflicts, are not easily shown in a flashback, because they are not external event (like what Yan Xun has). But we can understand it if we know the overall story.

I don't care. My own experience is the most important.
However it seems that for you, the failure of a project is more interesting than the story of the drama. Aren't you wasting your time for thing you don't actually enjoy?
The acting is so so so bad. Such an injustice to the first season. I am planning on dropping it. Does it get better?
Time to stop watching for you. Don't torture yourself and waste you time anymore. You may watch other titles with perfect acting and better sense of justice for your goodness.
I've watched till Ep 25 and there's still no chemistry between Zhuge Yue and Xing'er. Their scenes feels forced…
Time to say goodbye to Rebirth then. You may go on and watch other drama with better chemistry and emotion, and without forced scenes between the leads, and with perfect acting from the casts. Have a nice day!
This drama is highly underrated.I love the way it's difficult to predict what's going to happen.
You know what? I'm grateful we don't get any "foundation general" here. Men and women look dusty and tired, matching the setting and context of ongoing war and chaos.
So it is time for you to stop watching. Enjoy whatever drama you like with actresses who can produce much money.…
OMG, if they understand, we'll all get older. Our favorite actresses were all young, but eventually they will reach their 30s, 40s, and 50s. Even Zhao Liying is 38 this year.
You all wish the FL to be older, but I bet you will complain that they are too old for the role, as usual. We should be happy that there is a regeneration of actresses, or nobody would play any role in the future, fearing criticism and all kinds of ill words.
Even if you watch it from PA's perspective, even though they omitted certain wuxia elements, it is a solid story.
1. Miss Hong Yu
2. Li Ce
3. The evil empress of Biantang + her lover
4. The usurper of Biantang throne
5. Lingyue Queen + all her loyalists
6. King Ximeng

I don't what your indicators for a story to be solid are. May you explain? So I can make some analysis.
