Ok I was out for work the whole week and haven’t seen the series nor comments here. Starting again to watch as of episode 14. I’m surprised it is still Low rating here and even more surprised about the Douban rating. So far I always had respect for that one, but after this I won’t care anymore and - as many of you here - just watch and make up my own mind and rate (or not) the drama for its own value (yes, personal opinion and valuation). To me it is still very good and should be a platform for furthering the career of many of these young hard working actors (male or female). Anyway, see u later!
Regarding episodes 18 and 19: What kind of episodes were those? Everything happened so suddenly. My Wanning was once again dealing with a painful past. Zhan Zi Yu was truly loyal to the Empress, he loved her... I don't blame Chun Er for her current state at all; she's been through so much, after all, I love her. Also, Prince of luo is a character I'm really curious about; I'm curious about his behavior in the upcoming episodes. He really embraced Chun Er. I have no words for Yan Xun, that schizophrenic guy. I loved the duo of Cheng Yuan and He Lian Lin. Everyone's acting was really good; there weren't any weak performances. The series is going well
I don’t really know what to say, his character in the first 19 episodes is pretty pointless. He doesn’t do…
He did pursue her one more time after the lake incident, but he didn't meet her directly. He sends his army to basically kill all the remnants of her army and the group led by the couple who greatly helped him and the fl before. He then corners the fl and her army and wants to use the citizens' lives to force her to go back to him. After that Zhuge Yue appears for the first time after the lake incident and helps the fl. That's when he stops trying to force the fl back and focus on his ambitions.
I'm also pretty he did grow affection for his empress/one of the concubines that has also been with him from when he was younger. There's an entire chapter about her after her death that I skimmed through.
*These aren't really spoilers for the drama because it has went a completely different direction from the novel
The drama keeps getting better with each episode, and I’m really enjoying every moment of it. The story, action, and emotions are all coming together so well. Chun'er can be incredibly irritating at times, but that just shows how effective the acting is. The portrayal is so convincing that you can really feel that sense of frustration and tension whenever the character appears. At the same time, I actually like the scenes with Li Yan—they have a good dynamic and could make an interesting couple. Each episode delivers something exciting, especially the moments where the male and female leads save each other. Those scenes never get old. Even their small gestures feel meaningful and romantic, especially whenever they meet—it’s subtle, but full of emotion. I also love the lines the female lead says to the male lead, like “Zhuge Yue, stay with me.” It’s simple but very touching. The martial arts scenes are amazing—full of action, intensity, and skill. The mix of politics and battle makes the story even more engaging. Yan Xun’s obsession with Chu Qiao adds another layer to the drama, and his acting is really strong and convincing. The Black Eagle moments were also very memorable—they added a unique and powerful element to the story. And of course, I really love the tandem of the main leads. Zhuge Yue is so handsome, with excellent swordsmanship and impressive martial arts skills. Meanwhile, Chu Qiao is not only beautiful but also incredibly talented. Even as a young actress, she delivers such a strong performance. Her sword fighting and archery skills are truly outstanding. One of the most touching scenes for me was when they showed respect to the fallen warriors of the Xuili Army. It was emotional and beautifully done, especially with the theme song playing in the background—it made the moment even more powerful and unforgettable. Overall, the drama continues to impress me with every episode. I’m really looking forward to what happens next!
Like so many others, Princess Agents was one of my favourite Cdramas, it was SO GOOD, great story, stellar Leads and cast and I loved everything about it, so I lowered my expectations for Rebirth as I didn't want to be unfair in my judgement by comparing it to Princess Agents. I have watched 8 episodes so far and I am enjoying it and appreciating the new Leads and story without comparing them to the original. I am a huge fan of Li Yun Rui and ABSOLUTELY LOVED him in Blossom and was very happy that he was cast in this role so that was added incentive to watch it as I knew he would be great in the role.
I think the female lead is doing a pretty good job as she is so young and has great potential and I really like her. With regards to her age she is a good 10 years younger in this show than the female lead (Zhao Li Ying) was when she starred in Princess Agents, so she had all that experience to bring to the role and she was phenomenal as was Lin Geng Xin as the ML and their pairing in Princess Agents was a match made in heaven and I also ABSOLUTELY LOVED them together in The Legend of Shen Li.
Sequels can be hit and miss, but for me I am enjoying Rebirth without comparing to the original because it would be impossible for any sequel and actors to compare, as Princess Agents and the cast was just so damn good. That said, I really like the ML & FL in Rebirth and they are going a great job with what they have been given and I am looking forward to watching the rest of the show and also following Huangyang Tian Tian's promising career,
The fl huangyang tian tian is absolutely nailing her role. I expected good performance from her but not very good since she is so young and cast with older actors. But she proved me wrong and is acing her role.
This is really not as bad as I was led to believe. Huangyang Tiantian is not Zhao Liying to be sure but the plot is actually decent and the pacing too. I'm enjoying the competing agendas, layered motivations and the political landscape of Yanbei. The corruption of Yan Xun continues and even he can't have everything he wants. It's a zero sum game for him just as it was for Yuwen Yue aka Zhuge Yue.
This is an effin drama played by professional actors. If this is a rated 18 production I would mind it. Respect the work of people behind this specially the actors.
All the necessary ingredients are here make this drama popular, a solid storyline, solid acting, good visual and cinematography.
Just because of Princess Agents? I watched princess agents before but i forget bout it, its long time ago. It doesn't make justice to the prejudice that this drama gets.
This drama have a solid acting from leads to the supports but why the rating is so low? I can also see the effort of the production put in this drama.
That's why season 2 is not a good choice of project, comparing from the fans of previous leads and crying out the difference is destroying the drama appeal in the audience.
Even after watching POJ i can still say this drama is really good. Im looking forward to updates every night. I watched this first then VOS after.
LYR should be getting more screen time after today's episodes. It's because his storyline is starting to converge together with FL. If anyone remembers Princess Agents, towards a good last half of the drama, the ML and FL had very limited and short scenes - they parted more than they were reunited and each reunion led us yearning for more. Up to episode 15 in Rebirth, we see the ice has figurately broken. My main complaint is that the other side stories are just not interesting enough that I am skipping them (which I don't normally do) just to catch up with the leads. As for Li Ce- someone commented he is a new character. He actually isn't. His original character was played by Deng Lung as Zhao Ce - I know it's the same character because they were both referred to as crown princes and both had the outward personality of a womanizer but is actually just masking their real intelligence and both had prior dealings with the FL before the start of Rebirth. Deng Lung's portrayal in his bright red robes and constantly wanting to touch the FL was too funny (it was sexual harassment). Here, his character is watered down to an immature and attention seeker of the most cliches.

Why do they cast 17/18 year olds with older actors in a romance drama. I don't want any romance in this drama…
Because no suitable actress will be able to pull up Chu Qiao's character other than Huang Yang Tian Tian. I'm very particular with the actors and actresses of the dramas that I watch. And so, far I don't have any complains because all of the cast of Rebirth suited all the characters they portray. Also, kudos to Huang Yang Tian Tian because she nailed her portrayal of Chu Qiao.
For those who want to watch this, you don't need to watch Princess Agents; they already show clips where necessary. As for the story, it's really fluid, especially the last episodes went by very quickly. I really liked the acting, especially Li Meng and Li Yunrui.Yan Xun is completely crazy, by the way"If she cant be brought back alive, dead is fine"BROOO☠️☠️☠️
Sceptical at the beginning but as the story grow,s I find it interesting to watch.. Good fight scenes and beautiful cinematography. Despite the age gap between FL and ML, the actings were convincing. Looking forward for new episodes.
I’ve finished watching up to Episode 13 of the rebirth version, and so far, it’s really good—I’m truly enjoying the show. The martial arts scenes are one of the highlights for me; they’re well-executed, intense, and visually impressive. One of the things I love most is how the male lead Zhuge Yue and female lead Chu Qiao save each other. Their dynamic feels balanced and meaningful—it’s not just one protecting the other, but both showing strength, trust, and care in critical moments. Those scenes really stand out and make their connection more special. I’m also hoping to see more moments of them together. Their interactions have a natural charm, and even with the female lead being a younger actress, she delivers her role beautifully. Their chemistry works, and it makes their scenes enjoyable and engaging to watch. Overall, I’m very invested in the story now and excited to see how everything develops. I can’t wait for the next episodes! I also really love the theme songs of the rebirth version. The OSTs are absolutely beautiful and add so much emotion to the drama. The singers’ voices are powerful and soothing at the same time—it’s the kind of music that stays with you even after the episode ends. Every time the theme song plays, it perfectly matches the mood of the scene, making the emotional moments even more impactful. It makes me feel more connected to the characters and their journey. I find myself wanting to listen to the OST again and again—it’s not just background music, it’s part of the story itself. Truly amazing voices and unforgettable songs!
