Agreed 100%! I'm still watching this series because, regardless of the ridiculousness of the story, I do think…
Exactly. I am trying to keep myself from really going ham here because I do work with victims and perpetrators in my field and I can enjoy a drama that has some serious topics, so long as they don't perpetuate toxic unrealistic and unhealthy relationships. I find it real hard to swallow that some people don't see how making light of these things can send the wrong message, even if this is fiction, it hits close to home for many.
Fyi--this is my personal opinion. If you take offense I can't help you with that.
I have avoided watching the last two episodes until today because I am not as excited about this drama as many seem to be. I could honestly overlook a lot of the problematic topics this show throws at the viewer, but there comes a point where I just can't get behind it. Type is a child (yes 19 is still a child) who was subjected to a very traumatic event that he has never dealt with. Rather he has placed a misguided blame on Gay people when in reality he was assaulted by a pedophile. Pedophiles are statistically identified as heterosexuals who have a preference for children regardless of the child's sex. So Type has made this generalization that all gay people are pedophiles and "evil". We also are led to believe that Type's assault actually happened not more than ten years ago (he was around 8-9 years old) so imagine having to go through this trauma without any help during puberty and hating gay people only to end up in a room with a gay boy? That was a disaster waiting to happen. Nothing about his relationship with Tharn is healthy. Type has to deal with his issues before he can be a healthy functioning individual, but because this is a BL drama we are again asked to suspend reality and just go with the flow. Dont even get me started on how these two got together. That was weird. But many people enjoy it because to them it is "hot". I honestly watch this to support Mew because there is something so adorable about him and it sucked how he was outed in real life.
Type is very immature, manipulative and sometimes selfish. I dont hate the character because I feel for him. He is basically crying for help in a way but everyone of his friends just sees it as "oh that's just Type." He really needs a break from Tharn and figure out himself and get to a place where he is truly happy and not as damaged. He needs to heal from what happened to him.
Tharn has his own flaws and issues, but they are minimal in comparison to Type.
I give these kids props though they are really good actors and I wish them much success in the future. I will finish this drama, but I think I will just wait until it is finished.
Sandee and June was the best part of this episode... everything else was just (facepalm) The anniversary present…
I agree. That kiss was kind of awkward from Kao. Pete always trying to be the best boyfriend and showing so much affection that Kao's frozen state was annoying to me. I was glad to see them at least kiss, but I would have preferred more participation from Kao. Seriously, that was what I was talking about with wasted moments. The minute Pete turned around you could tell he wanted to go in for the kiss but Kao was moving around acting unromantic which was odd since he was the one making the romantic gesture of celebrating their anniversary. I feel Kao is just not the same character as before.
is this series going to be like that story in the 'HIStory' series.. i think it was called 'my hero' where that…
There is a misconception that My hero wasn't a true BL, but in reality it was always BL....The boy was always in love with the other boy despite him having a girlfriend..and the Boy with the girlfriend did fall for the boy even if the girlfriend was inside his body, because there were many clues pointing to him noticing that boy long before his girlfriend died. Also have to keep in mind that in order for her to remain on Earth, her boyfriend needed to fall in love with HER and not the boy, but as we saw, she did not come back...which meant that the boyfriend fell for the boy truly. (sorry I can't remember their names LOL)
I'm sure...I just want to see how they play around with the controversial topic. I haven't read the book/novel but I know their story is quite problematic. I do enjoy a younger guy after an older guy type of story...but was disappointed in the rape part. Ugg...
i am really in love with this drama, and that second part of the 3rd episode killed me!! and the necktie scene…
He has a photo of his father in his apartment, which has been showed twice. IT is meant to be that Pharm believes his father's spirit is always there with him, watching him and taking care of him.
Parm, darling....u used way too much oil for that omelete :D
I think he doesn't know how to make that yet...part of his old life where he was learning to make it. I think it's obvious in his hesitation in making that dish for Dean. It's a cute charming way of still showing that he is the present life of IN.
sigh, there are some wasted moments in this series, that it bugs me a lot. Either way, there was a better progress in this than prior episodes. I love Sandee!
I haven't seen many (if any) people mention the sister. I love her character so much!! What a cutie. She's quirky…
I was hoping that when the father was going ballistic that she would have jumped in and said to him "why are you such a bigot" or something like that. She is so adorable.
Can someone explain what Lu Zhi Gang has on his shoulder in EP 6 ? I didn't get what it was about.
I believe it is a scar probably from abuse by his ex partner or even his parents since he doesnt speak to them and they found out about his sexual preference while with his partner. I cant wait to see why he has that.
It's always a ... pity to encounter bad parts written for female characters in series which have "BL" storylines…
Exactly! I have rarely seen in personal life any mean spirited "evil" women set on destroying a gay relationship. It baffles me that women are always used as the problem, when often gay men and boys have a lot of women support in their lives. I have so many gay and lesbians friends and they have nothing but supportive females around them and even of they didn't, these people have never allowed themselves to be around such toxic people.
Honestly this is rather complicated to explain. There are many people out there who live in their "romance bubble".…
Also Asexuals do masturbate, it's not like we dont experience. It's just for many of us there isn't a gratification that comes from the act. Also we do have sex but mostly for our partners and not our selves.. Which is kind of sad but we do compromise in order to make our partner happy.
