Just a theory of mine, but the pacing could be do to some serious issues coming up later for the characters. The tile of the drama is "Make our days count" also "miracle" so perhaps they are giving us all of this fluff now, because the real pain will start soon. Maybe it's someone getting sick or even dying. That's just one theory. My other theory is that they are trying to portray teenagers in a realistic way. Most Teenagers are impulsive and fast. They do everything nearly without thinking about consequences. A kid has a crush on someone and often they act out impulsively. I don't have an issue with the drama's pacing at all. I think it's quite alright.
I honestly can live without the kissing etc...but I really wish the story had more depth. For what it is (sort of a juvenile/high school cliche)it isn't really doing it for me. I find that with so many BLs that are tackling real life issues, this story just seems overplayed or oversimplified for the viewers. I mean I can live with a fluff of a story, but at least give them nuance and substance to keep us interested. There is very little character or story development and I know that it has only been a few episodes, but given that Pete and Kao are supposed to have been a bit more established in their relationship, I just don't see the grow and development I was hoping for. I'll keep watching to see where they take it, and I hope the prove me wrong with the story.
I really appreciate that there's no, like, gay panic in this (or the HIStory series in general, those that I've…
I find that them not focusing on that sends the message to the viewer that love is love and no matter if it's a man or a woman, if you fall for a person wholeheartedly, then there is nothing wrong with that and you should pursue it. AT least that is how I view, which makes it even better because in the end, we shouldn't' have to label anyone or try to box them into a category.
I'm partial to the "enemies to lovers" trope and also feel that in this pairing the vast distance between "enemy"…
Very well stated both of you. @Pincolino I also find this drama to be soooo much better than some people realize. It's not the fluffly lovey type of BL a lot of people expect , but that is what makes it so enjoyable. There is something endearing and gut wrenching about these characters.
Is it just me or has anyone else notice the other twin, Xia De, keeps glancing/looking at Yu Xi Gu caring/lovingly?
I think he likes him and they are trying to be subtle about showing us that. It's the reason why he is always hesitant when it comes to the others trying to do something to Yu Xi Gu
the new trailer looks more interesting! i’m also sensing an actual romance between taetee in this instead of…
I don't know, I'm getting a misdirect here and it might not be TaeTee or rather, it might be TaeTee who like each other but won't admit it, then you have Bas and Tae kind of being hinted too (weird)...We have to wait and see now. _-_ (that's my head upside down HAHA)
can we get Bright x Pramote spin off in a parallel universe maybe
Usually I don't really care for secondary couples, but Bright and Pramote were goals. This is what I wrote on my review of the drama. "I also loved that the directors and writers highlighted without putting in our face, what a healthy relationship could be...Pramote and Bright were the opposite of Shin and Keng. Though we didn't see their development, there were subtle hints that they cared for each other and Bright's personality and how he put Keng on notice about his sick behavior showed that Bright would always have Pramote's well-being in mind, unlike Keng. We get caught up with the violent and psychotic nature of Keng and Shin's story that we almost missed the point that there are healthy same sex relationships as well."
Fluke is one of the best BL actors I've watched for some years now :) I personally love Rebirth/ Reincarnation…
Haha no worries. yes he is good and took a break for some time, but he is back. I'm really excited to see him in this. If Romance is done right it can be a great pleasure to watch, but I hear you on the cliche stuff. I used to abhor romance, but realized it was due to how bad it was played or written. Reading books from Emily Bronte, Jane Austen etc sort of helped me like Romance and Drama a bit more.
I would suggest these Goblin Chicago Typewriter And I still think that HIStory-Obsessed is reincarnation/Rebirth but that's just my opinion.
There aren't that many sadly (unless you want to see a lot of Chinese Drama, they have tons of reincarnation/rebirth) but for some reason there a lot of time travels ones that are good., which is another genre I love. The time traveler's wife is such a great book and Movie!
I said it since watching ep2: They changed the characters, especially Kao who was always in control in this relationship…
Me too. I'm hoping it will get better, but I'm not so sure. Even the outdated opening song points to them not going in the direction I was hoping...it's more soap-ish. Ehh, I'll watch to see where it goes.
About real life are you talking about the actors? Something happened? Honestly I would totally blame the script…
Apparently New got a girlfriend and he became distant with Tay. Which is why you see Tay hanging out with other actors nowadays and not with New. I don't know if that is true, but it is what the Polca groups have said on twitter. Either way, you can tell they aren't as close as before and it started around the time that they began filming for DBK. Hope that the story gets better.
I was going through my old reviews of dramas I have watched and felt compelled to write a review for. I re-read the review for Kiss Me again and why I liked it. I realized that after reading the review, now I know why it is that I am not really so into DBK (ugg blasphemy I know)... but the essence that was Pete and Kao is somehow lost in this series. I don't know if it was due to what's going on in their real life or just a bad script/story, but this is not the Kao who could stand up to Pete and could put himself and his feelings first, or the Pete from Kiss me again, that was frustrating but at the same time wasn't as bratty as he seems here. I guess what they are trying to do is set up that drama that's about to hit, but it just doesn't feel as organic as I had hoped. I'll watch and see where this goes.
