That is the sequel to this. Dark Blue Kiss is before Kiss the series. The problem is that Kiss the Series was aired first.

So, I usually tend to dislike romance dramas, and school romances in particular displease me even more. In addition,…
Fluke is one of the best BL actors I've watched for some years now :) I personally love Rebirth/ Reincarnation stories, so I'm really looking forward to this. Also, Red Thread Theory is such a cute legend to put in a drama, so I can't wait to see how they do it.

For a while NO ONE knew how many episodes would be aired. There were always different sources saying 12, then 15 etc. I don't know if the series is really canceled or if 3 episodes were the initial amount of episodes they were going to air anyways. I hope we get clarity on why 3. Either way, kudos to these actors for taking such roles and doing such a great job acting it out. They invoked so much emotions of many of us that is often hard to do in dramas, specially in BLs. James is always a delight to watch on tv and Oat who plays Keng is actually a good actor and I can see him going far if he takes on challenging roles in the future. Despite how dark the drama was, I appreciate that we got something different from other dramas and I hope ep 3 closes on a very positive note with a clear message and not ambiguous.

Exactly. I dont think these people realize that apologizing and forgiveness is part of the healing process for the "victim" not for the person who committed the offense. People who are healing and dealing with traumas may never see forgiving as part of that healing process and that's okay. Not everything has to be forgiven.

Really enjoying this drama. The acting is so natural. Sun is a hot-headed, hormonal 17 year old whose emotions are all over the place. I've known quite a few bratty hormonal teens like him and I can see how it can be a turn off, but kids like him do exist. I just hope he learns that his crush is nearing obsession which is not healthy. Yu Xi Gu...I love this kid. I want to be his mom!! This has been one of the best written/acted/directed HIStory series so far, at least for me. As I mentioned, the acting is really top notch for me and "you" as the viewer either want to kick some of these kids' as** or cheer them on.

I'm not sure as I have not read the book (s), but some people who have commented that their is a "lighter" version, meaning that probably it was fluffier. Not sure. I like the story even if it's hard to stomach and I knew there was a chance that it would be darker than what we expected, but still difficult for some people.

True! The drama is actually good despite the controversial material and it is good to be able to watch something that can bring about discussions (hopefully in a tasteful and polite way) I never understood those people that always tell others to stop watching something, as if you can't criticize anything or give some points on what they could do better. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You are absolutely correct and it's sad that some people do go on and on about why it isn't assault or rape justifying it. Sadly, it appears that most BL writers (often women in their 30s) and some of the people who watch and read these have some sort of rape fantasy where not only do the fetishistize it, they romanticize it and it makes me wonder if they find this to be okay because it's "men" and not women. Like I have stated in other dramas before, I don't mind a novel or a drama that depicts sexual assault or rape, so long as they don't romanticize it and make it seem like it's the only way for two men to get together. It's a trope that needs to be eliminated! It's completely stupid to me that these writers and directors can't find other ways to get two men to fall for each other that doesn't include drunken sex, assault and rape. There are a few BL dramas that are so good and there was no instance of such scenes. HIStory Right or Wrong comes to mind of a healthy relationship, sadly a lot of people didn't seem to like it. Anyways, sorry for the long rant, but it's good to see that many people do find this drama problematic, not just here but on YT and Twitter, I've seen people questioning it and wondering. Sorry for my long rant too LOL

Exactly! I myself work in the Criminal Justice Field and I am appalled by some of the comments. "He is strong enough to push him away," or "he actually wanted it" God, do people not realize how harmful that is? There are so many BL dramas with such unhealthy views of consent and rape. That it gets excused by some viewers because "it's hot" is kind of sick tbh. Working in my field, I get to be around both victims and perpetrators and it bothers me how some people view consent and rape. I am having such a discussion with the other BL "The Effect" essentially there are some rape apologists there that simply think it's okay to rape someone so long as "love and forgiveness" is there. Can you believe that? Must be a cultural thing.

I know I am in the minority here, but I find Kris' acting to be going downwards recently. Like his acting isn't that great, but he should be improving not regressing, which is what I have found since Mint To be. Seriously hope he gets better roles and he improves.

They still haven't bothered putting English subs on season 2, so I guess there isn't much hope for official subs…
Second Season had about 6 chapters subbed, granted not great subs, but still readable. You can find them online.

There is no doubt that people deserve a second chance, however , forgiving is one thing and being in a relationship with someone who raped you, who took away your ability to consent, who beat you is not what I would call "love" and if Shin and Keng get together it absolutely sends a message that it's okay to rape someone so long as that person forgives you. That's sick. And he recorded the rape? Like what the actual F do you think makes this okay? I am willing to give Keng a chance to atone for what he did if he is properly punished, but I don't think for one second he deserves to be with Shin. Shin was not only violated by this person, he was humiliated. Would you ever consider being in a relationship with someone who raped you? I guess until you are in that position, it's easy to say, "we can forgive and forget if there is love in the way." Sorry, I don't know what more to say, I guess you have your opinion and I have mine.

They didn't come out to everyone. Only two people knew at best. Pete's father and if you want to count Sun, since he was the witnessed to Pete's jealous act. In kiss the series, that's supposed to be after Dark Blue Kiss so technically that's not a pre-quel, it's a sequel to this one.

"Gross mistakes can be forgiven"....Are you implying that forgiving rape and being in a relationship with someone who raped you is okay so long as there is love? I don't want to assume that this is what you mean, because my comment was pretty clear on what I think SHOULD not be done.

Just prepare yourself mentally and remember that it is fiction at the end of the day, not matter how real the act itself is in the real world. At least I have told myself that these boys are brave enough to depict this, then I should be brave enough to handle it.
