Really glad this episode wasn't aired on new year's eve it would ruin the mood completely. I can officially now…
Pran's parents already supported him if he was to say he was gay. The whole table conversation about him bringing home a girl OR boy was already covered in an earlier episode. So I am not shocked about his mom not responding to him being gay. Also, the family feud took a center stage here, so they aren't even thinking about the gay thing yet. That's why the next episode, though from the preview looking all sweet and fluff might still be the dreaded Curse episode where shi* might really hit the fan.
We're all complementing Ohm and Nanon acting and it's all deserved but can we just take a moment to appreciate…
I said the same thing episodes ago when she was introduced during the school concert. I was like..."That woman just with her eyes conveyed so much" and you are right that was when she was the villain. I am happy people are seeing how good she is here.
wait a min after so many kisses and intimate scene pat is asking "can i kiss u in ep 11" what the heck with this…
You can still ask for consent from your lover even if you are in a married/committed relationship for years. Just because you get together doesn't mean that automatically the person loses their autonomy. Not everyone wants to be kissed, hugged, touched by the partner all the time, sometimes it depends on how the person is feeling and their partner might be respecting them.
The scholarship thing makes so much more sense in terms of the rivalry between the family. I can’t imagine how…
And that is what gets me! Like he literally stabbed her in the back and then went on to raise his children to hate them, so she, in turn, told her kid the same thing, then he bad-mouthed them and lied about them stealing Chai (the employee) from him when it was Chai himself who left and Pran's parents were more than willing to give him a job during difficult financial times. And then he has the balls to tell his son to compete and be better than Pran in everything. Mind you, I want to know if these parents knew that Pran saved Pa from drowning and still didn't put their differences aside, or if this is something that might be brought up again since Pran has SAVED both Pat and Pa from something horrible. Pat from prison and Pa from death.
Nope, in the novel it's more about the misunderstanding both sides have about each other's businesses though it…
Honestly, I am glad they left off that plot and the homophobic parents. I think there has been enough of that in a lot of BLs and it is quite fresh to have the issue amongst the parents be that someone's dreams/access to a successful future was stolen from them. This could be just as devastating to someone.
Re: ink/Pa
I think they work really well here. Ink is like Pat and from the get-go, her chemistry with Pa was there. But I guess since we all see things differently...it makes sense it may not be up to your cup of tea.
For me, I rarely like second couples, but they work, plus it is nice to see actual GL/wlw relationships depicted in a positive light.
Suggested this before, but here goes again if you want to try something new:Chàng Lọ Lem - Mr. Cinderella from…
I've watched several Viet BLs and Cinderalla is actually the one that has to use the least amount of weird sound effects (when Thai Bls started, they had an abnormal obsession with sound effects, and it has toned down so Viet BLs will follow suit)
My fav Viet Bl/LGBT drama is Monster In law...but they have stopped filming. It wasn't the greatest, but it was hilarious.
I agree, but I still had a big problem with this ep which was that their positions on the roof should have been…
There is no competition on who feels the most or how they feel it (everyone responds to traumas and other things differently) Pran has always been shown to be the type that is sensitive and often hides what he feels in front of others and lets out his sadness alone. He hasn't had anyone to console him until Pat. Pat has always been able to go to his sister (shown multiple times) when in distress, now he has Pran.
for Pran, the blowout with his mother really triggered him because, despite it all, he loves her a lot, and then to top it off, he probably felt scared that Pat and his father's relationship will suffer a lot because of him, so he sent Pat away to deal with it. He was trying to protect Pat's relationship with his father.
The emotional toll on him is doubled. Remember Pran has always tried to keep their relationship secret, while Pat is ready to let the world know. Ep 9 we finally got Pran to be on the same train as Pat.
agree T.Teven Pran was 'flawed' in the sense that he got emotional and spoke harshly to his mother (cant expect…
re:teacher Yeah the teacher should have followed through, but they also had no reason to doubt him. The whole dialogue with Pat/Pran and the teacher proved that the parents were best friends, were super smart and did everything together, so during those times, they probably believed him without going to her for confirmation. We also don't know how he did it. He could have sent a letter rejecting the offer and she found out later and by then it was too late, he had been given the scholarship and left.
I agree with you. When I saw the show from Wai's perspective I kinda felt sorry for him. Pran lying to him time…
In the field I work in, you have to see people beyond one action (I work with individuals who have felonie) so if we just take them at face value, we won't allow ourselves to understand their motivies. I mean we can justify someoen's action, though we may not agree with it or forgive it, but there is always something that drives them to do what they do.
I understand that some people really didn't like Pran's mother's way of dealing with things, but she was a victim too. She put her trust and friendship in someone who stabbed her in the back. Her anger towards him, her hurt...part of me believes that she made Pran "hate them" so he too wouldn't end up hurt like her. She saw their friendship as kids as a mirror of her own friendship with Pat's father...again not that it was right for her to do that, but man she was innocent all along. She only responded to his betrayal.
The same way that Wai too was hurt with Pran's lie. I totally feel for them, despite also being disappointed in the way they handled things.
This drama has given us flawed and realistic characters. I just think some people get caught up in the "black and white" idea of people, but we are all shades of gray/in between. We are more than just black and white and there is so much nuance given to these characters.
That tear that fell down Pat's face in the preview on the bus while petting Pat's hair...My adopted son Ohm...I want to give you a hug! Got to say they just keep improving. I'm so glad that he agreed to do this drama.
