This is a PUBLIC forum meant for discussion and people are going to post what they want even if they don’t agree with you. You seem immature so let me explain that’s how life works, not everyone will like and praise the same things you like.

I find the concept of blind stanning foolish and judge everything by its individual merits. I call out cultish fandom behavior whenever I see it, it doesn’t matter which fandom it is. Offgun fans aren’t special, so don’t worry, I’m not only calling out you guys.

And I criticised MLMU as a cash grab, so not sure why you think I am praising it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Only hardcore offgun couple fans are watching this show, of course they are going to rate it higher lol.

I gave up a couple of episodes back, looks like I’m not missing much 🤷🏽‍♀️ the production value is great though. They poured a lot of the MLMU sponsorship money on this I guess.

Of course I was pointing to the Japanese LA Adachi lol, because that’s the only Adachi I know. This forum is for discussing tv series, movies or animes, not the manga. Any normal person would assume that it were the two live action tv series being compared or discussed, not the source manga because that’s a completely different medium.

And yeah, I stand by my interpretation of the two live action adaptations I have seen, I won’t comment on the source manga because I haven’t read it. I don’t know what the “original Adachi” from the manga is like, but know I get zero passion/desire from the jdrama Adachi. The “art of subtlety” is meaningless when it fails to convey the intent of the storytelling.

I initially thought you seem very confused lol, but given the entire purpose of your account is to rate the Japanese version 10 and rate this show 1.5, I think it’s amply clear what’s really going on here 😂 cope harder I guess

Are you new to the concept of internet forums or something? If you comment publicly about something, you get replies in return, that’s how these things work. People won’t just stop talking when you want them to. You made a comment trying to disparage others’ opinions, I refuted that, and now you keep on crying 🤷🏽‍♀️

And bruised ego for what? I didn’t make this show, why would my ego be bruised personally? Do you understand how that’s illogical?

I have seen the show only, didn’t feel compelled to check out the movie because I was losing interest by the end of the show. Regardless, by the end of the show Adachi and Kurosawa have consummated their relationship and are living together, except the intimacy/desire never came out through the actor’s portrayal.

“Show don’t tell” is an age old adage, and just because something is told through the script doesn’t mean it is adequately conveyed through the actual acting/directing. Nowhere through the 12 episodes did it feel Adachi actually felt genuine attraction/desire for Kurosawa. He spent way too much of the series’ duration panicking and uncomfortable in Kurosawa’s presence. Later, it seemed like he gradually liked the attention and the kindness, and reciprocated out of gratitude. But there was always zero passion on Adachi’s side. Just because the script says “ Adachi initiates” doesn’t mean it comes through to the audience.

The examples you point out about Achis has to do with his character flaw of passiveness, it has nothing to do with how much passion/desire he feels for Karan. I can point to actual instances where it was obvious Achi was attracted to Karan, like when he was staring at him washing his face, while for Adachi, nope nothing.

This is my opinion and my specific reasoning, it’s not bad faith interpretation just because my opinion doesn’t match with yours

It’s good that we are getting different types of bl dramas and I really love a meaty plot, but that doesn’t make up for a weak script.

Sure YT views are not the sole criteria for success what about Viu which is the platform for Thai audiences? This show is lagging in the rankings there too, which indicates it’s definitely not blowing up in Thailand as you seem to think.

The opinion on chemistry is subjective, I don’t feel it at all, you think it’s great. Both our opinions are equally valid.

I started watching the show because the production values are good and the setting seemed interesting, but I am disappointed.

This show is quite simple but so entertaining! It’s classic old school yaoi.

This is an ensemble series. And honestly, the OG story is not very interesting at all. The engagement is being driven by the triangle.

lol the only people who think this is the best production is hardcore OG fans. Most people outside of that circle think it’s pretty mid as a bl, not a lot of people are even watching it.

The main character is uninteresting at best and irritating at worst. I love a slow burn, but the romance here is not compelling at all. Hell, I’m not even sure why Jane even likes Ryan.

They are not doing a final episode fanmeet because they have already announced a concert series for Gm4th. Same as Cherry Magic, if there’s already a concert, there’s no fanmeet.

Fanbases for established couples keep spamming the trends, but if the show is not organically good, just having a lot of tweets is useless. Because it’s not building engagement, it’s the same few people spamming desperately.

I would say neither of the gmmtv BLs airing right now is doing that great, in spite of trends. Gem4th have the bigger fandom right now and their show is relatively better imo, so they are not as bad off. And they have a super hit song.
