They have each other contact as co-worker and also as landlord/tenant, but why they don’t know each other? They…
As coworkers, they’re chatting via WeChat which is a super popular texting app that you either add by phone number or QR code. When they’re chatting as landlord/tenant, they’re old school chatting via email! XD

Can I skip the stewardess storyline & still understand the plot? I like the FL/Ml story…
You can skip some of the scenes (especially the training ones) but other times, while the conversation isn’t important, what the stewardess do/don’t do, end up affecting the ML and FL directly.

TSY and RJL’s chemistry was the only thing holding UTP together till the end! The plot at midway to the end was just horrible. The pacing was also bad. If it wasn’t for them two, I would’ve stopped watching too! I rewatched once just for their scenes hehehe

I originally went into the drama thinking it would most definitely be more work focused and that the storyline would place most of the emphasis on CX's journey to being made captain with romance on the sidelines...but here I am rooting more for the romantic scenes bc I find the whole stoic straight-faced ML who gets really flustered when flirted by the snarky and playful FL very, very delightful.

Yeah, one of the biggest reasons I was looking forward to the drama (besides WK and TSY) was also bc of the director. He's got a very realistic touch to his dramas and so far I've been enjoying the way the drama has been directed too. The screenplay...eh, I've got complaints but like you said, it gets a pass bc of the actors.

There's something to be said about the way people are reacting to the FL's arrogance, whether it's the characters…
Classic example of applauding men for having the drive to succeed while labelling women as b*itchy.

Like I said, I really applaud the show for putting this so obviously out there and letting the audience see it. I can only hope that people realize their knee-jerk reaction to Cheng Xiao might actually be casually sexist without intending for it to be so. I don't think CX's "arrogance" is uncalled for either. She's top of her class in technical skills and yes, she struggles with her temper/rashness which she's learning to reign in, but she's rightfully confident in herself and can back her words up.
On Flight to You Dec 29, 2022
I, just like Cheng Xiao, also find Gu Nan Ting just a litttttle bit adorable 8D

(Also want to note that CX's experience at Ground Transport, while harsh, actually has served her well. She's more patient and has learned not be as reactive to provocation. Captain Jiang, eat that! As CX said herself, thanks for the lesson, she's learned a lot and will go even farther now.)

I give CX until the next episode to properly get her act together now that she knows GNT isn’t the enemy she keeps thinking he is! Listen, girl, the line for him is about to wrap around the airport! But seriously would love for her to flirt with him and him being a complete ??!?!? about it lol

Right! Haven't seen him in so long!
Yeah, it’s fine bc I’ve watched the tribute dramas for TSY and his arcs as well but I’ve been looking forward to this drama exactly bc it’s not one he normally does anymore! I can’t wait for the more soft scenes, I can sense them coming xD I passed on his last drama bc I knew it wouldn’t be suited for my tastes but my Mom loved it!

If later on the drama can throw as many CP moments for us as they throw obstacles at Cheng Xiao, I’ll be grateful .

I think the only other drama I saw him in was Nirvana in Fire. I don't think I have watched any of his other dramas.…
I’ve seen a few of his dramas and he always does such a good job; a really good character actor! He’s mighty handsome in When A Snail Falls in Love!

Grrr, there was that one line in a trailer where Ni Zhan says, “It’s her business if she likes you but it’s my business if I like her” so I’m guessing love triangle x.x Hope it won’t be rough as Ni Zhan appears to have been friends with Nan Ting’s ex too. I’m really looking forward to the sparks flying between CX and GNT!

I’ve always liked him as an actor but his last drama wasn’t my fav genre so I didn’t watch. Now I’m staring at his face and listening to his voice dreamily hahaha. Definitely missed him on my screen ;)

After ep 9, I’m wondering if CX’s chip on her shoulder mostly comes from her interaction with her mother…always…
I was thinking the same thing! It might very well be a defensive mechanism for Cheng Xiao. Some people, when engaged in an argument, remain calm and collected while some become defensive and take things personally. I feel like Cheng Xiao is the latter and it sounds like having a mother who is a lawyer (and somewhat combative/harsh) might have resulted in CX putting up her guard a lot of the times.

It doesn't excuse the fact that CX has been rude numerous times to Gu Nan Ting but as someone who has had a similar experience as her, it does explain why CX would be so combative towards Nan Ting whom she thinks is biased against her.

I was thinking of starting this drama. But the ratings keep on going down every time I revisit the page.
I'm not sure why people are already rating the drama when it hasn't even finished airing. Lol, in fact it's not even halfway through the broadcast. I would suggest watching an episode or two yourself to judge instead of basing it solely on ratings as these things are subjective.

This drama has completely renewed my crush on Wang Kai. I somehow forgot how magnetizing this man is, dang it.
On Flight to You Dec 28, 2022
On a lighter note…much thanks to Director Wang for the constant closeups of Wang Kai’s fingers/hands (even though I know it’s a trauma tic)

I agree to an extent that Cheng Xiao is prone to rashness and quite stubborn but as a reminder, she’s a woman…
I think, as with all dramas, if only Gu Nan Ting and Cheng Xiao could sit down and have a proper conversation, they’d realize they actually have a lot in common! They both have the same high standards and have the same goals but they’re not communicating properly, lol. But that never gets solved until the midway point.

I don’t hate on the ML and actually agree that he’s not to blame for a lot of the problems. Cheng Xiao’s taking her anger out on the wrong person which I’m sure she’ll realize in the same vein, I’m sure Nan Ting will realize that there isn’t just one type of pilot. Like I said earlier, Cheng Xiao has growing up to do and I’m looking forward to seeing both theie growths.

Whether Cheng Xiao’s health issues are a result of discrimination or not doesn’t actually matter because at the end, even if it’s directly because she works herself too hard, isn’t she working so hard because as a woman, you HAVE to work at least twice as hard even to be acknowledged? If she could coast through like the others, then she’d have been fired. As it is, she’s top in every category and still at constant risk of being fired. If Cheng Xiao slacked off slightly, she’d have been fired or transferred to a different department. She’s the best pilot in her group and still can’t get to be a first officer. Does she have another option besides working so hard?

Show is currently telling us despite being the obvious best pilot, simply bc she’s a woman, she’s facing obstacles from her direct boss, Jiang. No matter what Gu Nan Ting says in her favor, it doesn’t matter bc it’s Jiang’s department. She’s obviously not helping by lashing out but she’s being held to standards the rest aren’t. The pressure of constantly needing to be on the top and the best, because if not, there are people waiting to get her, is immense.

I think show is making a point to tell us that yes, Cheng Xiao is strong-headed and stubborn but she also learns from her mistakes (ie landing during the storm). For men, it’s ok to aspire to be the best and be competitive but why, when it’s a woman, it comes across as a negative quality? I think that the show is raising good questions!

Only on episode 4 and I don’t see why people are hating on the ML.Everyone wants a strong female lead but CX…
I agree to an extent that Cheng Xiao is prone to rashness and quite stubborn but as a reminder, she’s a woman in a field dominated by men. Director Jiang has not hired a female pilot in at least five years which just goes to show how impossible it is for a female to become an airline pilot. He’s also repeatedly ignored Gu Nan Ting’s proposals to hire more female pilots.

While Cheng Xiao had an understanding teacher in Old Cai, her colleagues have repeatedly mentioned that she’s worked harder than all of them and often at the expense of her own health. Show hasn’t shown us exactly what she went through the last seven years but I doubt it was easy for her just because she had a nice teacher. It’s evident just by the way the board treated her; she’s literally up for captain based off the hours she’s already flown in freight and all she had to do with submit her papers but instead, she was told she would be demoted not just once but twice. She scores first in theory and in practice, puts in so much work that the other men in her group plead with her to let up a bit so they can relax. They’re drinking beer while she’s putting in extra hours in simulation. The whole training period in Australia already shows how a woman has to work that much harder just to be taken seriously.

Cheng Xiao does have a chip on her shoulder and she is defensive but I do not blame her for it at all. I do think she needs to reign in her temper and there’s lots for her to learn from Gu Nan Ting. She needs to learn which battles to fight and which ones to back down from. Neither ML or FL are perfect, both are flawed and that’s great imo because I’m tired of having a perfect ML saving the FL all the time!
