I've been debating on weather I should watch this show. Is it any good?
It's really good and has a bit of everything: comedy, slice of life, emotional scenes, a possible love triangle, and really good songs. The main actors are really good and are portraying their characters brilliantly. You should really try it out, but be sure to check the trigger warnings :)
What I think is that maybe, soon after Ki Ho ran away from his father and arrived in Seoul he and his family had an encounter with the psychopath dad and Woo Hak got hurt in the midst of all that. Also, I noticed this a few times, but the Kang brother's mum limps when she walks so this could explain a possible accident where the psycho father was involved when the two brothers were in high school. Or maybe the accident happened when the family was still together and was all getting abused by the father, and that is the reason why Woo Hak and the mother got away, because the after was an abuser, so she ran away with one brother. I always thought that the mother did not abandon Ki Ho, but somehow the father stopped them all from getting away together so Ki Ho stayed behind to protect his mother and brother, the same way he jumped off the boat to protect Mok Ha and stop her father.
They need sometime sub it, compared to Viki or oher sites they are super fast so be patient
I agree, Netflix subs for Korean Dramas are so lacking lately, I can hear the characters say something completely different and the subs are different. I understand that at times foreign languages have different figurative meanings of words and ways of saying than English, but here these are not required in all cases, as they change the whole meaning.
There's no way every shop was able to send back their albums, especially when they all knew she was about to be…
I think it's not about sending the records back, they just 'banned' them from being sold. So any record/album sold from that moment onwards will not be legally counted as album sales, since the rights for it to be sold were withdrawn by the company... But still not sure if they can do this, like they can probably since the artist is under their company but I feel like they will find a way around this or find another way...
I will never get tired of saying that Chae Jong Hyeop is such a great actor. The way he acts with his eyes and his facial expressions are always so on point, and he expresses the character's inner feelings very well. He is always such a pleasure to watch. I still remember seeing him in Sisyphus and he had such a cute way of smiling and I never missed any of his drama afterwards... He really deserves all the praise he is receiving ^^
I'm really worried about the safety of both the brothers and Mok Ha, Ki Ho's father is a way worse psychopath and predator than I had imagined. Ki Ho is still a mystery although now it might look like Woo Hak is him. But at the same time, I can't rule out that Bo Geol also might be him. I honestly don't mind cos I love both brothers so much and they both have the good qualities that Ki Ho had as a kid. I also don't mind the thought of her not ending up with the real Ki Ho, if it gets to that point. They are grown adults now and although Ki Ho is the bestest person, she might end up falling for the other brother, which is realistic too. Or maybe she will indeed end up with Ki Ho, whoever he is and that will be so perfect. I know the best outcome would be a happy ending for Mok Ha and Ki Ho together, but not always that is the case. So I will not hate it. I know it might not be ideal for some viewers but if it's done well, as long as they are all safe and together I will be happy. The focus of the drama is not romance, although we are venturing into love triangle waters now, it might just stay a friendship although I feel this will be highly unlikely. And this is personally just how I see it.
I don't understand the dynamics between Ran Joo and Seo Joon, and honestly so many people around her. We saw glimpses of her old company's CEO in the teaser for next week, and I can't pinpoint what happened 15 years ago... Seo Joon's motives are also confusing, at times it seems like he is not that bad, like today when Ran Joo visited him (also is there a love angle there too!?) but then in a second, he's the bad one again... That move was so disgusting but of course, he will try to stop Ran Joo at all costs, but I am sure the real reason could be much deeper than just stopping her from getting half of the company shares...
The male version of the 'That Night (I'm Still Waiting for You)' song is out!! I love this song so much, I can't wait for the female version to be out and I'm sure Park Eunbin sang this one as well ^^
Ugh, what a crazy psychopath!! What is wrong with that guy for real and how the hell is he still roaming around freely!? I don't think I've hated a character this much in a while... Okay maybe Seo Joon as well, but not as much as I hate the father
Why Netflix is so freakin' slow? In Korea EP4 is already out. I see people on Twitter already spoiling it, and…
The episode is out on Netflix after it finishes airing in Korea. Mind that on TV they have ad breaks so it takes longer to finish airing. Netflix subs the episodes in advance, as they have received all episodes to sub already. So the delay is not because of subs but because of airing time differences. Also viewing ratings matter to the channel so they aren't released at the same time both on TV and Netflix. I hope this helps :)
my theory is that ki ho is woo hak. he lost his memories due to some reason and bo geol acts like ki ho to protect…
I thought about this too, but idk I somehow feel that Woo Hak's personality is way too different from Ki Ho's, but of course, people grow and change, and he has lost his memories so that changes the situation. Another thought I have is that at some point, Ki Ho's father already had an encounter with Ki Ho and his family and Woo Hak got hurt in the midst, either cos he got confused as Ki Ho by the father or to protect Bo Geol or the family.
I honestly don't mind who is who as long as they make it make sense TT
Yoon Ran Joo says that Bo Geol looks familiar, probably because she has seen him already as young Ki Ho when he came to look for her after Mok Ha's disappearance. This could further explain why Bo Geol knew so much about Ran Joo, cos he's been following her career as a way to remember Mok Ha. Ki Ho's father is going to cause some real trouble, and I already hate it. My theory was always that the real Ki Ho is not coming forward to protect Mok Ha as well as himself and his family, and it makes so much sense now since this is exactly what could happen: the father will either approach Mok Ha or mistake Ki Ho for the wrong brother since both work in the same company as well TT I just hope the father gets what he deserves without hurting my favourite trio. Also, it was so nice to see how Mok Ha's school friend and Ki Ho's friend got married and are trying to protect Ki Ho and now even Mok Ha.
I love this drama more and more after every episode I watch. I always loved Park Eun Bin and Chae Jong Hyeop as actors, but this is my first time watching Cha Hak Yeon and he is so good. I love the dynamics between the characters in this drama, but I keep going back to Ki Ho and his story. I love how we see glimpses of young Ki Ho in every episode almost, Moon Woo Jin's acting gave life to Ki Ho's character. He's probably my favourite. I can feel it is going to start getting a bit messy from here, but I am ready for it nonetheless.
The OST of this drama is out of this world. I usually end up liking one or two songs, it's been so long since a drama came and all its songs were this perfect <3
Why didn't it air all episodes at once like daily dose of sunshine..
Daily Dose of Sunshine is a Netflix Original, meaning Netflix produces it and therefore it does not air on TV in South Korea. Castaway Diva is produced for tvN and by Studio Dragon, and Studio Dragon has a deal with Netflix, so many of their Korean Dramas are made available weekly on Netflix as well. So the main difference is the production and how the drama was developed, and Netflix Originals are usually shorter and follow more of an international episode format and give more freedom to directors and writers, as they can discuss heavier topics that at times are not suitable for television for example. Hope this explains :)
