@aquadrone22 Yeah, they're real people, but they aren't in a real relationship, so what their fictional counterparts fictionally do has jack to do with the actual actors.
Once again, their characters are the same age. They aren't playing a 27 year old and a sixteen year old, so the age gap is completely irrelevant to the discussion. If the story wasn't an extremely adult story, the casting would be perfectly fine.

And yes, the sexual aspects of the story do preclude a minor from acting in it.
The story isn't "my love mix-up" or other bl without any sexual context to it. If you watched "make it right" you wouldn't think teen actors can be in overlty sexual stuff as long as the actors are close in age, as you seem to think.

Fans of the novel want a non-censored version of the story since the other version besides the og Chinese one, which was banned, has been censored.
People who love the novel want a true adaption, not something that has to be changed because some of the actors are too young to make an adaption following the source material.

Also, the second novel takes place when they are full-grown men, so August's casting makes a lot more sense than the teen cast does.

We won't see eye to eye, so I guess this ends the discussion.

Again we know they actors playing fictional characters in a fictional story. And age doesn’t technically matter. And no sexual stories do not preclude minors from acting in them. According to your logic It’s not okay for teens to act in productions about sexual activity, but it is okay to cast a 16yo with a 27yo in a production about sexual activity? If Thailand sticks close to the source material then there will be rape and non-consensual activity—but it’s okay that a 16yo is cast because it’s fiction… choose a side here.

In addition, regardless of what fans want (myself included), the production team can and often do whatever they please. This includes how they adapt the story and how they cast it. But fans can voice their thoughts about whether they like or dislike those choices. Just as professional actors can choose or not choose to be part of productions that fans may or may not like.

At the end of the day facts are facts and opinions will remain as such. We don’t have to agree on everything and it’s perfectly acceptable to share your views on a public platform created for just that.

You do realize that despite this being a “fictional show, real actors are portraying the “fictional characters”? Whether they date in real life or not doesn’t change the fact that there is an 11 year age gap between the leads. It would not be much if an issue if an18 year old is dating a 16 year old who is a minor. It’s like a sophomore dating a senior. So yes, the age gap is problematic, and yes it’s grooming even if the characters are fictional. I don’t blame the actors. We know that August isn’t literally grooming Mac…..

Yes the novel is sexual in nature, but that does not preclude teen minors from being casted. Teenagers have sex too…. This was a really poor casting choice, but that doesn’t mean that both characters have to be adults.

Who approved this???? It wouldn’t be as bad if August was 18 or 19, but an 11 year real life age gap????? Someone needs to be fired! Ugh, with any luck they will recast Pop’s character.

I have noticed, in my clique of Kdrama lovers, that people who saw Kim Se Jeong in “Uncanny Counter” first love her in that, but don’t care for her in this. Likewise people who watched her in this first love her even more when they saw her in “Uncanny Counter.” I happened to watch her in Uncanny Counter first, so I wasn’t a fan of the character. I fell in love with the second couple….. gosh to erase my memory and watch them again would be awesome.

The cast is too young fo such mature themes, the cast doesn’t LOOK like they could pull it off, the story is not like the original blah blah blah…. The US has an entire show dedicated to being 16 and pregnant…. And millions of viewers tuned in and it got more seasons. Whether you agree or disagree with the content, it is your right..it is also your right to skip it and ensure any of your progeny does the same..

I do like that they cast new actors for this remake instead of a current ship. While I understand the complaint of the cast “looking young,” because I don’t find any interest, I do hope they do well in their role if it happens.

It’s crazy to me that this Pavel is the same man who played Forth in “2Moons2.” They look like two different people to me, and I can’t put my finger on why.

Masturbation has to be done right for me to enjoy it too, and I think Yai’s masturbation to Mangkorn’s images, in “Big Dragon”, was done well. I made references to other actors who this Ohm has clearly not been partnered with. They do have the same name, but not the same BL partners. The partners mentioned above are from Bad Buddy, Make it Right, Dew, and He’s Coming to Me. I have never seen that Ohm with the same partner, but theOhm in this is ALWAYS with Fluke.

Agree! There are some actors I love seeing together, but I love the versatility. Ohm has been with Singto, Nanon, Toey, Nont and each pairing has a different level of chemistry between them. I feel like Thailand only pairs the same people for same sex couples….

Hwaiting!!!! I’m reading the webtoon in the hopes it satiates my desire to watch Ming and Ping again. I loved their first series together, and it’s getting harder and harder to wait.

I’m not opposed to NC scenes, but Sky and Vee’s NC scenes are copy & paste. I like that Janus and Bomb have some variety in both location and the crazy kinks. I really hope the guys have fun while filming these scenes.
