I don’t even think Pat’s behavior is irrational or childish. When someone or something is too good to be true,…
Yes!!! This is why I replied to you because you actually try to understand the characters instead of criticizing everything about them.
Sometimes I wonder if the BL watchers are a bunch of old people who have forgotten how to walk a mile in someone’s shoes or forgotten what it was like to be under similar circumstances. It’s like they forgot Jeng is 1) handsome 2) rich 3) successful in his career and 4) intimidating. Jeng is straightforward and his personality can be a bit abrasive. Did we forget Pat and Jeng’s relationship at the beginning of the show already? For me it’s not about Pat’s age, but everything about his personality. We are witnessing how he navigates his life, and his decisions and reactions are perfect for his character.
I don’t think Pat’s reaction had anything to do with being an only child…. Put yourself in Pat’s shoes for a minute. His first love, Put, ghosted him for 2 years. Only now does Pat know why, but those feelings of rejection still sting. Now his hot boss is not only gay, but also into Pat??? Pat never imagined this to be a possibility, so now he is stuck with emotional turmoil.
Almost every single comment on MDL is discussing how PERFECT Jeng is and criticizing Pat. Pat probably feels he isn’t good enough for Jeng which is why he is reacting this way. Pat has had a lot of struggles entering the work force and he is doing the best he can to navigate this new world. This romance is unexpected and he doesn’t even feel like he is deserving… so he builds a wall rejecting it because he doesn’t want to put himself in a position to be hurt again.
This is how I view Pat, so I can empathize with him a lot.
Will a kind soul care to explain exactly what was Pat's problem in Ep 9 ?I am not talking about his response to…
I think the transition from college life to working life has been a strain for Pat. While working, he has spent countless amounts of hours trying to please the people around him with very little regard to himself. He has had to work 2x as hard because of seniors dumping work on him. He has been yelled at for his incompetence and has been harassed for liking men. He has had to send flowers to himself from a fake lover to dispel dating and favoritism rumors. He was forced to work with his ex, whom he strongly opposed, just so he could get his job done. He has had to deal with a difficult boss and falling for said boss despite his better judgment. All of these situations have forced Pat to act in more assertive ways where he is accommodating others while neglecting his personal feelings and desires. This is part of the reality of working in corporations, and it can feel as if you no longer have an identity.
For Pat, he really was not aware of this type of work environment, and he has no one to understand him nor help him navigate this new world. All of these new feelings for Jeng are not helping him either because it is too good to be true. Once Pat can find a healthy work life balance, he will be able to accept the changes in his personality and find his identity again. It’s scary when you realize that this is the reality of my life, and are unsure how to cope and manage that reality. This was a serious coming of age moment for Pat, and it will definitely help him to realize what he values.
It's true that many viewers are angry with Pat's behavior and his reactions to Jengs confession, people think…
I don’t even think Pat’s behavior is irrational or childish. When someone or something is too good to be true, it usually is! There is nothing thing wrong with Pat being in denial and shock because look what happened with Put…. He ghosted Pat for 2 years and if not for the ad, would Put have ever come back to explain what happened 2 years ago? Pat is being cautious plus I don’t even think Pat realized the depth of care he felt for Jeng until Jeng expressed that 1) he is gay and 2) he likes Pat. Now a door has been opened for Pat that was never possible to begin with.
And yes, Pat’s feelings of inferiority is so realistic. Jeng is so perfect, which is damaging because Pat will be in this constant state of insecurity. I hope he will be convinced that he is worthy of the new implied promotion and the love and affection of his soon to be ex boss.
Why does Jeng have to have a reason to like Pat? Sometimes you just like someone and there is no specific reason and/or you can’t put it into words. You just like them. For the first time, Jeng met someone who was not swayed by all the rumors. They were attracted to each other before they became boss and subordinate.
I love Pat and all his reactions to the morph in his relationship with Jeng. How is it possible the perfect man for him is 1) hot 2) gay and 3) likes him back? I would be caught up in my feelings and stay in the town of denial for an extended period of time. Pat’s reaction to everything is so on point. His realization he is no longer in love with his ex, but started to develop feelings for his boss. So much is happening all at once and it will take him some time to process his feelings and accept that he cares for Jeng. Pat is still new at navigating his adulthood, so give him a break for taking his time to sort through his feelings.
I totally agree with the swooning. Even though Tian's self-flagellation didn't really make sense under the circumstances…
That scene was pretty great. Brotherly love is amazing. No tears, but his face did turn red and he didn’t show a bunch of “Golden Blood” teeth. All I can see are Gun’s teeth… in every scene hahaha
Exactlyyy, I still don't like Nara though. She had no reason to kiss Patts like that lolll
The kiss wasn’t completely unprovoked though. They made out in the car 2 months back, so her taking the initiative made sense. She kissed him in the hopes he still had feelings for her, but was effectively rejected.
NGL, it was refreshing how they handled the conflict. Nara is not a villain, and she handled the rejection like a champ. Phat didn’t have to be a dick and push her away roughly just to prove there are no more feelings between him and his ex. Tai, although hurt by what he witnessed, didn’t just give up his feelings. He expressed his hurt and actually listened to Phat. 3 adults behaving like mature adults under less than desirable circumstances. These three things never happen in a BL at the same time, so a win all around.
Lomfan holding a panicked Tian was on another level of swoon. I’m hoping that Lomfan being a love rival to Phat was only for the pilot trailer and is left back in the mountains. Him making a compete 180 on his views toward soulmates would be hella lame. “La Pluie” is turning out to be much better than I anticipated.
Entertaining.... but massage is such a bad.... If you want female empowerment be better version of yourself...…
Mi Ran sleeping around is not empowerment. Her freedom to choose is what is empowering. She isn’t unaware of her reputation nor the reputation women get from promiscuity. But the fact that she is able to choose her own lifestyle is what makes it empowering. Her main reason for taking martial arts was to be able to protect herself because of the ridiculous “Knight in Shining Armor” myth that women are fed since they are young girls. We as individuals are responsible for our own safety, so Mi Ran trained to protect herself and those weaker than her.
And there are a variety of family structures that don’t rely solely on women either. There are family structures where fathers are single parents, children are reared by grandparents, siblings, etc. Feminism is not “destroying family structures” but rather individuals who make choices. But regardless of what women choose, they are constantly shitted on by men and other women for their choices.
Viewers should be able to separate entertainment from how they choose to live their lives. If people want to live vicariously through Mi Ran because they don’t want that type of lifestyle, then let them.
Really?????? I’m starting this one today hahahaLove the profile picture, too!
I have officially confirmed I have 0 standards. As long as there is a story about two men in a romantic relationship, I am smitten and my heart flutters.
My biggest issue with this series is the anti-climactic ending of Lee Jun’s ex-boyfriend. Water over the head? This man cause Lee Jun such trauma and aversion from future relationships, and all he got was a bath? I was hoping for a bit more drama.
It also would have been nice if their first date didn’t come from the app, but because Lee Jun started to warm up to Ha Ram. That situation wasn’t written as I would have imagined it.
Now that I think about it, I can always find charm in the shows that I watch. I can’t recall ever dropping a show…
Unforgotten Night Ai Long Nhai Oh, My Sunshine Night Check Out Bite Me Physical Therapy
Got through all of them. Loved the first two on the list lol
Tai offering Phats lip service had me covering my face peeking through my fingers… Why is Phat not saying no to Tai’s offer hotter than their make-out session?
i think Tai was so confident against the bitch and Phat didn't push her away immediately, So the bitch kinda ruined…
Did I miss over a scene? She doesn’t know about Tai and Phat nor does Tai know she is the ex. Tai’s confidence comes from him finally embracing his soulmate— figuratively and literally. She is simply there to win back her ex who is now engaging in a relationship with someone else. Maybe wait until she actually does something that warrants calling her a bitch.
Tai probably will run away before any explanation can be given, so a huge misunderstanding will ultimately lead to his suffering. He has a major scar from his parents and was skeptical about his soulmate since the beginning. If he ends up entertaining Lomfan, it is only because Lomfan’s disbelief in soulmates fits well with the narrative. He clearly has strong feelings for Phats and this will be the perfect excuse for Tai to become a recluse again.
So basically you are informing MDL that you did all this research on this show to tell us you know nothing more than the rest of us on MDL? What exactly did you research when there has been one statement about a spin-off? The non-information you know is better than hugo1705’s speculation because they didn’t research the non-existent information from a non-existent Korean news source? The user was simply stating what they thought the spin off would be about, which they have every right to do. Just as you have every right to claim Gongchan’s acting is “terrible.” But we’re all just sharing opinions right?

I felt he was so taken with her because of his boldness with Phat. Nothing like a blowjob to boost your confidence. Especially if you’re the giver.
And about the kiss… they always put the cliffhanger at the end. Next week, after Tai runs away, we’ll see Phat push her away and chase after him.
