I see your point about the slowness - I noticed the same thing negatively in the other couples. What makes it…
1. Sat and Choke is a perfect example of story gone... just wrong. I completely agree there is no character development. And just when we think there is some depth, it is ruined by bad stage direction. Choke, with already low self-esteem, continues to put himself down which is a very typical character trait in individuals with low self-esteem. How does he suddenly get a boyfriend? They almost make him unscrupulous given the intimate moments he shares with Sat. His character was inconsistent and this did not help the storyline.

My favorite storyline is rivals to lovers! I can never get enough regardless of how bad the script is. Tue and Ask's story didn't bother me even with the strange change in their relationship. I still found them to be charming due to their shyness of first love. I even love the awkward sexual innuendos between the two.

Thurs/Pao is cute... I longed for more interactions between the two. I felt they focused more on Thurs' side hustle. (I won't spoil this story for you) I haven't seen the current episode because I am not in the mood for a tearjerker quite yet, and it looks pretty sad. But I do love the actors so I will probably watch in 2 weeks when the series is completed.

On to Sun and Neua... I had to watch their story 3 times to truly make the determination of my feels. I love the storyline and YES I love that Neua was so blatantly obvious of his feelings toward Sun. Especially later when I realized that Neua was part of the Bang Gang. Can I just say that I found it touching that they are constantly helping each other with their love lines. Mon helping Kaeng and Puth helping Neua. What I found most charming about their love story is the courting. How often do we truly see a love story that is non-sexual and just about the courting? It was truly an honor seeing a man fall in love and chase after the object of his affection. Not to mention the shyness Sun exhibited, while at the same time, being incredibly clueless to Neua's heart. I agree with your comments on them 1000 percent! They truly are a dynamic pairing and the costumes of both Neua and Kaeng are phenomenal. I squealed, giggled, choked, and screamed quite a few times myself.

Thanks for sharing all of your thoughts and allowing me to share mine. It is nice to find a kindred spirit as I'm reading and posting comments! Hope to see you one the comment board in the future.

Yes, yes, yes!!!!! So many people are so judgmental of these characters and they forget they are human and teenagers haha You are one of the first posters who has an objective view of the series and tries to understand character and motivations. I find myself falling in love with characters because I am truly fascinated by the human experience.

And yes I completely began feeling empathy for Kaeng because he was truly pathetic. I’m sure I have behaved that way in my dating years too. I am so curious to hear your thoughts on the other couples. I may be in the minority here, but I like Y Destiny. I didn’t watch it expecting a fantastic story or romance, so I was able to look past the poorly written scripts and strange plot jumps. My second favorite story will have to go to Nuea and Sun.

I definitely support you! Puth and Kaeng was my favorite story because of many of the points you listed. I find it interesting that so many people felt so sorry for Kaeng. I completely understand that after sleeping with Puth he was ready to commit. However, both Puth and Kaeng were playboys. This was very clear in earlier episodes. For example, Kaeng was encouraging Team to sleep with Mon for points. Puth told Mon not to get involved with Team because he became a playboy after hanging with Kaeng and the gang. I felt that Kaeng simply received the Karma that was due.

It would have been a more satisfying story had we gotten a chance to see Puth develop feelings for Kaeng. The story did seem a bit one-sided and I had to rewatch several times to see the subtleties of Puth’s feelings. I understand Puth’s rejection of Kaeng given all That we have seen. I also understand that Puth was treated just as Team treated Mon causing Puth to become jaded. I am happy that Puth stopped the relationship with Payu before it got out of hand because that conflict would not fit.

I can completely accept that many of the couples in Y Destiny are childish. Many of the characters are legit unscrupulous minus: Choke, Sun, Tue, Aek, and the final pairing so far. But I am willing to also accept that people tend to be unpredictable with matters of the heart. That’s just being human.

I have never read any of the novels so if you have any recommendations available online, please feel free to share. For some, Nitiman has a cliche story, but I fall in love with characters not stories. I love the characters! They are so honest and likable so I relate with them. Please tell me your thoughts when you do watch it.

Ugh that happened to me with this and Nitiman. I’m glad both shows come out on different days so the “black hole” doesn’t consume me. I swear you have the best description of BL life hahaha I usually only watch shows weekly if they aren’t that serious like Brothers. I can’t believe two shows caught me in the BL trap this week.

Ahhhh I see what you mean. It was weird when Jin left the bar during BBomb’s performance and BBomb chases him like his foot was magically healed. Hahaha didn’t that chase do more damage?

There isn’t a time jump here. During rehearsal, Boss asks Jin when the cast is coming off and Jin replies today. Boss took Jin to the hospital after the rehearsal while Bbomb looks on. Then we see Bbomb in the hospital implying he is getting his cast removed too. His injury was less severe than Jin’s. Then they both run up to the bus castless… the timeline here is clear which can be hard to find in some shows. Like in Stepbrothers when they become a couple…. But we never actually see them agree to be boyfriends hahaha

That's where the acting theme comes in. There are psychological studies explaining why actors have trouble in…
I understand where you are coming from with cheating being cliche. In Together With Me, I felt the cheating was so unnecessary. It was like they couldn’t think of something to add so hey cheating always adds drama. Here, I think it was completely acceptable as part of the story. We have two young men trying to make a relationship work as they attend different schools and have different schedules. All of the emotional struggles Teh depicts are so realistic. It makes sense that he felt close to Jai emotionally. He doesn’t have Oh to support him due to… well.. life. And especially when they are method acting. Even though the troupe is cliche, it is logical and it didn’t feel out of place. As much as I want to Teh bash,I can’t. It’s not so black and white here because I’m sure so many people have this same experience. Some cheat and some don’t. Whether They do or don’t end up together won’t make a difference in the realistic portrayal of their relationship. This truly represents the struggle of building a relationship with factors working against you. These two love each other deeply and will find their way back… if they are meant to be together.

Even without subtitles this episode was hella frustrating! I just hope the drama is minimal in these final episodes. I can’t stand a last minute unnecessary conflict.

Episode 10 did not live up to the standards of episode 9. It was protracted and tedious, with long-drawn out conversation…
OMG yes!!!! I loved this couple the best, however, I had the same impression. Episode 9 pacing was fantastic and then it turned into typical Y Destiny episode 10. The saving grace for the long stares was that Kaeng’s emotional responses were so on point. He did a fantastic job conveying his hurt and struggles with Puth. They also had amazing chemistry. I wanted to SEE more of Puth’s struggles and why he was so against a relationship with Kaeng. I wouldn’t mind seeing a continuation of their story in regard to how they became friends and fell into bed. And what made Kaeng change from playboy to falling head over heels for Puth.

Also, do you think Puth really fell for Payu or was he unintentionally using Payu as a shield because he was confused of his feelings for Kaeng? Not to say he didn’t like Payu, but maybe falling in love is too intense to describe his actual feelings.

Yes I did hear that part too. I am curious of the timeline because Puth and Kaeng started sleeping together only months ago.

Remember in episode 5 Kaeng was encouraging Team to sleep with Mon for the points? Not to mention Puth warned Mon from taking things too far with Team because of his patterns of sleeping and leaving men? Team’s ex did it to him and once Team became friends with Kaeng, Team turned into a heartbreaker.

I completely respect that Kaeng changed himself for Puth and I thought that was the sweetest reason! However, because of his past behavior, Puth was cautious. This was my rationale for my initial comment. Does this make sense?

I find it interesting that many people feel so bad for Kaeng. Puth is doing to Kaeng what Kaeng has been doing to so many men. This is the first time Kaeng has felt anything for the men he sleeps with. Maybe their prior friendship has something to do with his feels. I would have loved to see more of Puth’s internal struggles with Kaeng’s promiscuous behavior because the hurt is portrayed as one sided. Sure Puth is aware that Kaeng is a playboy, but it doesn’t mean it’s easy. I would struggle to commit too. Kaeng did mature hella fast though. He found in Payu what he was wanting/needing from Kaeng.

I agree. They were one of my favorite couples/stories out of the series. I wish they had one more episode for…
Yes! If they cut the long silences and stares by half and added a bit more of Puth’s side of the story. Maybe his internal struggle with Kaeng’s previous playboy ways... we felt a lot of sympathy for Kaeng, but I also felt for Puth. I wouldn’t want to commit to a playboy either.

YES!!!!! I haven’t fully seen ep. 7-8 yet. I plan to watch it eventually, but I love the storyline for Puth and Kaeng. I have never been in that type of relationship before, but I could relate to their feelings. I shall find you after episode 10 and we can fan (boy/girl) together! :)

By far my favorite story and I don’t care much for the intimate scenes. The story is actually moving along at a nicer pace and they don’t spend hours staring each other down.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised (and excited) that they actually show them using a condom! How rare is that in a BL or any drama... regardless of sexual preference, this is a win.
