Straight to Hell is an interesting watch, and the story is fascinating. The performances are the best part, as is the set design. However, it's far too long and does tend to repeat itself sometimes. Overall, it's fine, but it's challenging without skipping through.
Albeit cliched, If Wishes Could Kill has an interesting concept and is able to hold on to the thrill and tension throughout the runtime. With good performances, this one's a decent watch although it doesn't reinvent the genre by any means.
If Wishes Could Kill is quite cliched and, despite having a rather intriguing undercurrent, feels obvious and underexplored. However, with good performances, great atmosphere, set design and a layered character in the form of Kang Mi-na's Na-ri, this one's a good binge watch.
Enjoyed watching the Taiwanese horror film Mudborn. It had some cool horror visuals, great acting and good gory moments. However, I found the film to be a bit too dark and sometimes things could hardly be seen. Plus, it does use some tropes that dilute the effect of the horror film. Overall, it's an enjoyable watch.
Had a lot of fun watching Bloodhounds Season 2, although there's a lot to be desired this season when it comes to the story. It felt generic, to be as action-packed as possible without thinking about the emotional core that made season 1 so popular. However, the action was fantastic, and the cast was great at how they presented the action to us. Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi are fantastic in their roles and look absolutely great. Overall, a fun, albeit empty, season.
Sins of Kujo would've been more impactful if the series had fewer episodes. I think the storyline is very interesting, and Yagira Yuya & Matsumura Hokuto are fantastic. But the huge runtime makes the series lose steam, and the pacing issues can be quite annoying as a result. Overall, it's enjoyable... but the length can be a hindrance.
Enjoyed watching this series a lot. Although the storyline is quite obvious and might seem repetitive, I enjoyed watching the characters, and the action was great as well. I think the way folklore is made modern and accessible is quite interesting in this show. Loved watching Kai Ko and Wang Po-chieh's chemistry. Overall, quite fun.
Finished watching this action-espionage film, and it's a thrilling look at the murkiness of the intelligence business and what human beings have to go through to keep the general population safe. However, the film focuses more on throwing punches and making the most ruckus instead of delivering a gritty thriller that will leave us devastated by the end. Somehow, Zo In-sung's Cho takes the backseat, and the entire film feels focused on the North Korean side. There's not a lot of emotional connection to anyone, and the film feels surface-level, not giving us a clearer look at anything before things come to a close. It's a rather odd experience.
Enjoyed watching this film as it really paints a vivid picture of the characters and the ordeal that they go through after being scammed. With a bleak portrayal of desperation at its helm, it gives us a tough watch that gets under your skin. The fantastic performances are just a plus.
Enjoyed watching Boyfriend on Demand... to a certain degree. I think this is a lighthearted show that should be treated as such, but even for that, 10 episodes make the storyline repetitive. I also think the series forgets to focus on the character and story arcs while showing us some very attractive virtual boyfriends, leaving us to not see growth. Overall, this was fine, but nothing extraordinary.
Finished watching this a few hours back, and I had fun. It was what it was, but it's obviously not some piece of art that will be remembered. I enjoyed the blood and gore and some of the lore as well, but it's just the same thing with some longing, so it didn't add anything for me.
Finished watching this short series, and I had a really fun time. It's a bit obvious when you get to the end, but the road is quite engaging, and I couldn't help but wonder which of these characters could be the killer. The performances were great, and there were even some humorous moments. Overall, this one's for anyone who enjoys low-stakes thrillers with a good ending.
Can This Love Be Translated? can sometimes be adorable, and it's a butterfly-inducing affair at other times. The series showcases some genuine romance and interesting emotional ups and downs that will make you root for both protagonists. However, it's just so unnecessarily long that it made me impatient, and I lost interest a lot of times as well.
Overall, it's good for the chemistry between Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, but the storyline really needed to be shortened to deliver a memorable impact.
I enjoyed watching Cashero. Lee Jun-ho is great as this perpetually confused guy who suddenly inherits superpowers. The pacing is fast, which results in the characters not getting enough time to make us understand who they are. However, the series also feels repetitive and slow at times, so it's kind of a whiplash for me. I enjoyed the discussions surrounding social issues. Loved Kim Hye-joon as well.
Overall, it's fine. But not really memorable in any way. I wish they were focused more on Sang-ung's powers rather than repetitive action sequences and situations.
