For people asking, the song at the end of ep 2 is by Chinese rapper Zao An, same rapper who did the banger song Kylin for I am Nobody cdrama. The song in this drama released in 2025, the names in Chinese and translates roughly to night fury or night fight evil something like that. Should be able to find the song if you search for Zao An 2025 release. I found it on Spotify. The Chinese name is 夜煞·斗!(《定风波》影视剧插曲). If you like the vibe of this song check out his others, they are bangers.

Thats something unique/different about this story, he doesn't have a big driving goal. No like revenge or saving someone or being wronged when young. He just wants to live as long as possible and cultivate to as high a tier as possible. He has small goals along the way, but never one big goal like other MC's you're talking about.

Definitely remind me of the glory, but it's such a silly way to get poisoned. Who accidentally mistakes and gives a deadly poison instead of a paralysis poison.

Not yet, but him and Fl and a couple others are working together. So at least there's no drawn out thing where the FL is totally against him for ages. She's cautious and suspicious of him, but willing to work with him to find the truth.

No it was really, really dumb. FL goes to her friend to get a drug to paralyze him so he can't escape after his return, instead her friend accidentally gives her a deadly poison with no antidote by mistake, and Ml takes it because ML trusts the FL. Now he's poisoned with no antidote and apparently will die from it, we just don't know when. FL's friend is working on the antidote so he'll probs be saved. But overall, I'm liking the drama, find it interesting, but the poison story so unnecessary and lazy writing I think.

Haven't ever seen the VIP forum but this is good to know thanks for the info. Definitely should be implemented. Of course, everyone is welcome to comment their opinion good or bad, but reviews should only be left once a decent amount of the drama has aired. I think those ideas in the VIP forum sound good.

I'm sorry but leaving reviews after watching only 1-6 episodes is crazy. It's fine if you don't like it, nothing wrong with that, not everyone's gonna agree. If you want to leave a comment criticizing it, obviously fine, everyone's free to comment what they want. And if you don't like it, just stop watching it. But to leave a proper review, judging the whole show of 36 episodes after only watching 1-6 episodes makes no sense. At least, wait till it's over or close to over before leaving a review. This is why, I saw news iqiyi and Youku teaming up with douban to implement new rules around reviews where people have to have watched 50% of the drama and have this verified, before being able to leave a review. And btw, I have no issue with negative reviews, but reviews, positive or negative, after only watching 1-6 episodes make no sense.

They would have enough material for movies and multiple seasons. The novel is 2400+ chapters and the donghua from what I have seen and other rumors around 800 episodes by the time it's done, maybe more or maybe less. But even so it has a lot of material if they want to keep making it. But even though I would love that, I doubt its gonna a happen, probs gonna leave it with an open ending.

I've seen some comments saying Julia has a lot of anti's trashing her and this drama, is that true? I watch a tone of cdramas but I don't really follow fandoms or the actors personal lives or fan groups/feuds or whatever. Is there a reason she apparently has a lot of anti's? She done something? Or is it just not true?

I agree, it's fine to have different views, that's what the comments are for. I also agree with the poison/drug stuff I think that was bad writing, so unnecessary for the story, would have been better if it was left out. Probs my one major complaint is the poison. Hope it's resolved quickly.

To be honest, I see your point. But I feel like she was only like that in the first couple episodes. After the time skip she seems more mature. Thats just my opinion though.

It's good, the mystery is intriguing, at least for me it is. But beware (if romance isn't your thing) there will likely be romance. But it doesn't seem romance heavy, at least not so far.
