And the point I was contradicting is you said after prince jin and Shen Yi died someone should have stopped him. No one knew what the emperor did after he died, who are you talking about when you say someone should have stopped him after they died? As far as everyone knew, the emperor did nothing wrong. Then you too to defend Yan Ze, when he was in charge of a cult that killed innocent people. Thats what I was contradicting.

Also you say did it not occur to anyone after Prince Jin and Shen Yi were murdered. Who are you talking about? After prince jin and Shen Yi were killed there was no one else except maybe the empress dowager who knew the truth. And even she was unsure and didn't know the full facts of what happened. To everyone else Prince jin was a murderer and Shen Yi covered for him. There was no one that knew the truth, no one left to think twice. Who are you talking about? After Shen Yi and prince Jin died, you say did it not occur to anyone, there was literally no one left for it to occur to.

Oh nice, that's good to hear, I feel like a lot of these historical crime cdrama have been really good this hear, so I'm also optimistic about this one as well

Trailers looks pretty good in my opinion, great cast all round, great mix of new and veteran actors. Looks like it's got a blood of youth, fangs of fortune (with a bit more comedy I think in this), group of friends solving crime/working together vibe. Only thing I'm a little worried is the screenwriter and director don't have that great a record of previous dramas. But I am looking forward to this and hoping iqiyi can go back to back with great dramas, with coroner's diary and now this.

Yeh 100% different from most typical xianxias. I'm hoping as he gets stronger and sees more of the cultivation world they will expand on the world building. Thats what I'm hoping at least. I'm liking the fast pace so far also.

Don't worry he kicks ass in ep 10 and if it's anything like the novel, it's satisfying.

Yeh I feel like once you start cultivating, you can't stop you know, no turning back like you said. But yeh quite sad watching him pretty much leave his family and old world behind. As you sad as a poor peasant his life really didn't have that many options but now he's opened up a way larger world and a limitless future really. But looking forward to see where it goes, so far really good start in my opinion.

Hahaha thats the question, I don't think he ever thought about it. Right now cultivating gives him a purpose in life. Getting stronger, living longer, gives his life meaning and a purpose. But what happens when he can't get stronger or live longer. What happens when he's immortal, what purpose will his life have then? Thats the question haha.

Honestly, this cultivation story is different from most. Most cultivation stories have some goal of getting revenge or fighting to get a girl back or something like that. This story is unique because its simply his story of cultivating with no special reason. He wants to get stronger and live longer. I thin in my view cultivating gives his life a purpose. As a mortal, he had no real purpose in life, cultivating gives him a goal to reach and a purpose to live. But thats just my opinion from the novel really.

Yeh I do agree, it's kind of sad watching him become so distant from his family. But at the same time he doesn't have much attachments really I think cultivating kind of gives his life a purpose, but thats just my guess really

Yeh I agree, I think it was just on impulse, she was overcome with emotion, with anger or surprise etc. But definitely, to live in such privilege, you have a duty to care for the people and the country in return. Definitely was unwise and reckless to confront him like that, honestly Yan Ze had the right idea in poisoning him, except for the whole trying to expose him and take the throne part haha. But ML and Fl made the right decision in the end, letting the fake emperor die as the real one, and continuing on with Yan Sui.

Yeh exactly, may sound cruel, but at the end of the day they prioritized the bigger picture/the safety of the kingdom and its people, over the death of consort jin and few others. Not ideal of course, but the best decision that could have been made for the bigger picture. Like we've all said neither prince jin or Shen Yi, knew he was an imposter. And even after his death in episode 38, they did not reveal he was an imposter, and willingly passed the throne to Yan Sui to keep up appearances. Because even after his death, if the public found out the truth, would have been chaos, let alone if he was still alive.
