Yeh I have no problem if someone is not a fan of the concept or the episodes that’s fine after all kdramas are subjective, but like you said, the concept has been around for ages so no point in calling it a rip off. But yeh rhe arc lasts ep 5 and 6, cliffhanger end of ep 6 but seems to be just about over by end of ep 6.

For people saying its a copy off Squid games, by that logic, squid games is a copy of death race, or Alice in borderland, or even hunger games, Battle royal the movie, As the gods will another movie. All came before squid game, all with very similar concepts. The creator of squid games himself said he drew inspiration from a manga called Kaiji which is extremely similar to Squid games. So guess what, there were many shows like squid game that came before squid game, and many shows that will be similar after. Does not mean it's a rip off.

Also if two episodes of a show, ruin the entire series for you, thats ok, leave your review and rating and comments and move on. Why watch something you don't enjoy. Anyway, seems like the death game arc is over pretty much anyway. Next come the revenge, very excited.

Not sure about historical, Dilraba's drama should be next big drama for Tencent, and I think with that going and strange tales dominating ratings so far, I think Tencent historical will likely be a filler/lower budget historical drama until next month (likely Flying up without disturb). Also they released a list of their dramas airing in November. If interested, I'll list below Tencent's announcement of dramas to be broadcast in November:

This is just what's been announced so far, looking like next big historical drama will have to wait till next month, but Flying up without disturb seems to be the next historical cdrama from tencent. Flying Up without disturb was also filmed in like 2022, ages ago so finally releasing.

For everyone hoping that we see JCW get some very brutal and satisfying revenge (or worrying we won't see that), I just want to say don’t worry. The same writer that wrote the taxi driver kdrama wrote this, and if anyone has seen those series, you would know each and every villain gets a very satisfying revenge plot. The writer definitely knows how to write satisfying revenge plots and I have no doubt JCW will deliver.

Definitely hitting at something more, I'm sure things aren't so simple!

Seems like it has to do with their masters death, we see more of it in ep 4. Seems like he thinks ML is a monster, as he believes he killed their master. But I'm sure there many twists coming about what actually happened.

Honestly this drama is very captivating. Ep 4 is so good. Theres a scene where ML goes from mourning and admiring the deceased, to reminiscing about the past in a wistful manner, to a joking/sarcastic tone then finally an intimidating, creepy vibe, in one scene. It's insanly captivating. The Screen writing, the ability of LXY to transition into different demeanors so easily, with the music also adding to the atmosphere, all really good.

Also only ep 4 and the little plot twists and ML outsmarting and deducing the truth, as we are slowly revealed to the truth as well, is very engaging.

Strong start, hope it keeps it up. I rarely, rarely purchase subs other than the big 3, but my finger beginning to itch to buy the Huace yt membership for the extra ep.
