Hahaha exactly, really dislike transmigration endings like that! I wished I had waited for it to finish before watching, but unfortunately I watched it while airing and was let down by the ending. Definitely deserves to be on the 'only when I have nothing else better to watch' list.
Anyone here watched Yummy Yummy Yummy yetDid you like it and is it worth starting?
Just my personal opinion, a real let down. SPOILERS AHEAD:
The main couple only get together at like ep 30 (yes they took that long), before they separate halfway through ep 32 again then reunite in the 'real/modern' world again at the very last minute of ep 32. I am fan of the ML and FL actor and actress, I really like them both, but the story was a let down. Started well, was funny and comedic, but then nothing happened. Stayed one dimensional. ML and FL literally were pushing and pulling, liked each other but FL continually pushed ML away over and over, until ep 30, literally 2 episodes before the end, when suddenly they find out the truth, FL accepts ML and they get married immediately. Then FL transported back to real/modern world in ep 32, and we have the typical last minute ending of many transmigration cdramas where ML and FL gaze at each other from a distance in the real/modern world.
This is just my opinion, maybe I went into it expecting more romance, but overall I was let down. Don't get me wrong, there were entertaining moments, it was comedic, the family dynamic of FL, with her brother, mother, father and niece was great. But overall, nothing really happened and romance was a huge let down, literally only like less than 2 episodes of them actually being together and I felt like nothing really progressed in the story. Just my opinion though again, I'm sure there are others that liked it, and maybe I expected more because I enjoyed the start and really enjoyed the cast, the actors did a great job, great performance all round but the story didn't land for me. one single misunderstanding led to FL continually rejecting ML the whole time until ep 30 even though they liked each other.
For those interested, preview of ep 7-8, no subs for the preview but looks amazing, the revenge arc begins. We see JCW going after the scummy lawyer first it seems!
The ending reminds me very much like Demon Hunter ending, which won’t be preferred by a lot of viewers, but…
Hey sorry watched final ep but with bad subs, could you just explain quickly about XFT sacrifice. Did she kill herself to stop GMD? Not sure exactly but thats kind of what I saw from her actions, was that like her ultimate freedom?
Yea there are so many dramas movies with the same concept. I’m personally not a fan of this but reading the…
Yeh I have no problem if someone is not a fan of the concept or the episodes that’s fine after all kdramas are subjective, but like you said, the concept has been around for ages so no point in calling it a rip off. But yeh rhe arc lasts ep 5 and 6, cliffhanger end of ep 6 but seems to be just about over by end of ep 6.
For people saying its a copy off Squid games, by that logic, squid games is a copy of death race, or Alice in borderland, or even hunger games, Battle royal the movie, As the gods will another movie. All came before squid game, all with very similar concepts. The creator of squid games himself said he drew inspiration from a manga called Kaiji which is extremely similar to Squid games. So guess what, there were many shows like squid game that came before squid game, and many shows that will be similar after. Does not mean it's a rip off.
Also if two episodes of a show, ruin the entire series for you, thats ok, leave your review and rating and comments and move on. Why watch something you don't enjoy. Anyway, seems like the death game arc is over pretty much anyway. Next come the revenge, very excited.
yo , i'm new to mdl but been following this thread for a while . and I want to suggest the korean drama "Our…
Hey, welcome to MDL officially! I commented Our movie below like you mentioned, but because its Happy ending only, didn't make the list. But definitely worth a comment and a watch for people that browse the comment section as well!
Not sure about historical, Dilraba's drama should be next big drama for Tencent, and I think with that going and strange tales dominating ratings so far, I think Tencent historical will likely be a filler/lower budget historical drama until next month (likely Flying up without disturb). Also they released a list of their dramas airing in November. If interested, I'll list below Tencent's announcement of dramas to be broadcast in November:
•Those Days •Love on the Turquoise Land •Blemish Flaw •Why is He Still Single? •All Rise •The Miracles •Flying up without Disturb •Yue Long Yan Xi Gui
This is just what's been announced so far, looking like next big historical drama will have to wait till next month, but Flying up without disturb seems to be the next historical cdrama from tencent. Flying Up without disturb was also filmed in like 2022, ages ago so finally releasing.
Glad to see you as well! Hahaha yeh the comments been a bit crazy, not much talk about the plot at all haha, so I haven't checked the page frequently either but as long as we enjoy the drama thats all that matters!
