I just need a happy ending for the lead. While FSG's close aide and Ningfei also need to stay alive until the…
100% I'm with you, happy ending with everyone is most important for me. Who takes the throne and all that comes second. Most important, they all survive and happy ending. A journey to love ending killed me.
I feel like some people see this as a fight for the throne drama. In my opinion, it's a revenge story, it has always been a revenge driven drama, the throne is just there as an excuse really and a tangible way for them to implement their revenge.
ML wants revenge on the people that killed his mother. Prime minster wants revenge on the emperor for his son. MYR wants revenge on ML and his family for how they treated his father. FL wants revenge on XJS. XJS wants revenge on the emperor of his country for how he was treated. The princess now also wants revenge on XJS. And from previews soon ML will want revenge on the empress and MYR after what happens in the next eps. Even the emperor, ML's father, kind of wants revenge against ML's mother by forcing ML on the throne, to prove he was right, and to win against her. Revenge for going against him. Honestly, only the empress has cared for the throne without revenge really, but now she also seeks revenge against the emperor.
The throne is just a tool for revenge. Thats just how I see it at least, dramas are subjective and this drama is really well written and open to interpretation, so I'm sure some people see it differently. But for me, this has always been a revenge driven drama, not a fight for the throne. The throne was just a way for them to manifest their revenge.
Obviously, I would prefer ML take the throne in the end, he is clearly the most suitable, so that's the ending I prefer, but also for me most important is ML and FL happy ending together. As a viewer, thats what I care about the most, but this just my preference, but others will have others preferences and thats great.
I think he is fighting everyone for the sake of revenge. His main enemy is the Prime minister. Now he destroyed…
Revenge for his mother, he's said it a couple times, he wants revenge on the people that killed his mother, which is the PM. Like in today's ep, he said after he gets revenge for his mother he and FL will leave and live peacefully. But then from previews we see, he will then seek revenge on MYR and empress.
XJS I hate how his back story makes him pitiful when my heart was set on hating him for betraying FL , I don’t…
I agree, although I understand XJS, I really want him defeated by FL as well, same with Murong, he deserves a painful death, especially after the previews. And yeh princess needs a big dose of regret. I hope she does make it up to ML in some way.
👏👏👏✨✨ You said it all~ I love how this drama focuses not only on the main leads, but also on the…
Yeh exactly so true, I like how a lot of the supporting characters are complex and have a backstory to drive them. Their greed is because of something, not just because they're greedy.
The more I watch the more I think Fated Hearts really is the perfect name. All the character are driven by their past, shaped by their past, like it was fate they become who they are. The emperor, shaped by his childhood, father starving to death, having to fight for scraps to eat. So thats how he grew up, believing everything should be fought for and won. That kindness gets you nothing. PM shaped by the loss of his son, seeking revenge. MYR, shaped by his past with ML when they were ambushed, leading him to be jealous of ML and believe his family deserves more.
XJS grew up beaten by his 'brother'/emperor, without backing or support. Making him ruthless in is drive for power, seeing those weaker as disposable. That power is the most important in the world, above love or anything else. Princess, shaped by her sheltered childhood where she was given everything she wanted, believed that whatever she wanted would be hers.
ML is ruthless towards his enemies and a killer, shaped by betrayal and his father, but also is different to XJS because he had the influence of his mother, not only as he grew up with her kindness, but also her death. Allowing him to have more empathy, thus willing to protect the innocent and his loved ones above all.
FL grew up without love, in a harsh environment. Thus, she does not trust easily. But her relationship with her 'brothers' and the kindness she thought XJS initially showed, allowed her to keep her humanity, treasuring bonds and repaying favors. She is willing to do anything for those close to her, but also decisive in cutting off those who betray her.
Whether I like or dislike some characters, I like how many of the support characters are given a backstory. There is a reason for how they act. A reason for their greed or actions, often due to a past event. They aren't greedy just because, they're driven by their past.
Truly a bunch of characters shaped by their past, like it was fate.
Did the princess get to know that her hubby wanted to kill our FL before? I kinda want her to know all the evil…
No, but he slapped princess, then when princess found out her father was sick and wanted to go home o see him, she wouldn't let her, slowly she's seeing his evil side for sure
Novel readers plz tell me how the princess will have an ending? Wil there be a character development for her or…
The novel is quite different from the drama so far just so know, I have potential spoilers from the drama, not 100% confirmed but seem them in a lot of places. She will have character development it looks like.
Glad to see princess get a good wake up call. I understand she was sheltered and all that, I understand that her upbringing shaped her, doesn't change the fact she is super unlikeable. Never thought I would say this, but in Xia Jing Shi's defense he did tell her repeatedly he would never love her, she would never have his heart etc, can only blame herself for being so stubborn and ignoring what her brother told her and what XJS told her.
Hope she gets a solid redemption arc, really good to see a bit of character development starting for her.
Guys whats the popularity of the drama right now?No way Feud (horrible drama) hit the 10K index but a dream within…
The views aren't there for this drama yet. For October 10th on Yunhe, this got 28.8 million daily views, for reference at its peak, Feud got 50+ million daily views (on its 10k day). Don't get me wrong I prefer this drama over feud personally, but views wise this, and a dream within a dream have not hit the same viewership as Feud. Normally to get 10k, you need roughly 50 million views on Yunhe. This definitely deserves it though and numbers are going up every day, so I believe theres hope.
Anyone else realize, the ambush for ML by prime minster was very similar to the plot XJS was going to use to kill him in the first battle (planned with MYR together). Trap him and surround him by a bunch of civilians with enemy soldiers mixed in, so him and his men don't know who are enemies and who are actual civilians.
ikr? The 1st thing I did is to check the preview. Damn everyone is just evil now.
Yeh they do complete each other. I can see FSG coming for revenge but hesitating a bit when it comes to killing MYR of his father, and FL will probably take over. Although I think FSG will be the one to take revenge, it will just be painful for him. So far he's kept up the cold blooded nature when he has to. But FL will be there for him.

Oh thats an interesting take, very possible. We'll know more when he see it, thats really possible. Would be the type of thing FSG does since he owns the after for saving him previously. But yeh I hope his revenge is super cold blooded, I'm sure it will be.
