Ah ok, yeh makes sense, those are pretty rare for historical cdramas, maybe something similar to Kill my sins, which was pretty female centric but still had a ML element, even though there was no romance. But yeh pretty rare in the historical drama genre.
We're almost at the last case but I still cant forget that Envoy princess, they didnt even apologize to our baby…
Last episode the ML was like I'll get the emperor to grant you a house, but the FL said sheactually has a place she wants to live, she said its her uncles house near her old home. So ML bought her old uncle's/her old home for her.
Imperial coroner is great, can't wait for season 2, hopefully it stays just as good
Because of imperial coroner I went on a binge watching similar shows and watched Maiden Holmes which is also really similar to Imperial coroner and was one of Zhang Linghe's first ever dramas.
This is a male centric drama, so expect few to mid chances of GJ to appear in every episodes.
I agree, I think this character will suit her more. In the novel she's kind of like a cold woman that gives of the vibe she's above everyone else, not mean or evil or anything though, if that makes sense. Anyway I think the role suits her more and hopefully she can show her full potential.
When r we gonna get a female centered drama like this... Any recommendations?
Legend of the female general is a drama releasing this year with a really good cast, pretty hyped up and female centric for sure, as you can tell by the name. Hopefully its good, should release soon.
Is this good? I cant wait for this to air. Havent read any adaptation.
The novel and donghua both are really good and both pretty famous for being really well done and having a really good story. So hopefully this drama keeps it up.
In the novel and the donghua there was romance, with Nangong Wan being the romantic Fl, but it was a minor side plot, not the focus. So there will likely be romance but not heavy romance.

Yep in the drama, Shen Yi pretends to be Qin Wan. But in the novel, Shen Yi dies in her real body and the the real Qin Wan dies , then Shen Yi wakes up in Qin wan's body, so its Qin Wan's body, but Shen yi's spirit kind of, she takes over Qin Wan's body. Shen Yi remembers all her memories and some of Qin Wan's memories, but not all.
I would like to know.. Is there a novel abt this drama? And for those who already finish reading it tell me the…
In the novel her identity does not get exposed by the villain but that's because in the novel she dies as Shen Yi and gets reincarnated in Qin Wan's body who was also killed, so there's a fantasy element. Where as in the drama, it's Shen Yi who survives and pretends to be Qin Wan. So in the novel she is actually 'Qin Wan', as Shen Yi reincarnates in her body after she dies. This was changed for the drama because of china's tv regulations, this is not allowed I think that's why. So in the novel she is never exposed but as for the show, I'm not sure if they will follow this.

Definitely agree, it will interesting to see how all the cases so far, or at least some of them, are connected to the overall main case. From the looks of it they will dedicate a good 9-10 episodes on the main case, which I like, as hopefully it gives them time to really go into detail and conclude everything nicely, nothing rushed hopefully. But yeh it will be interesting to see who sides with who, will it be like emperor against everyone else or will there be 3 or even 4 different sides going against each other, it will be interesting. The little kid prince definitely has an important role, I'm so glad they included him. And I also hope by the end they give Yan Li a purpose, as well as a relationship with Yue Ning. Anyway, these last 10 episodes are gonna be really good, I can feel it.

The cult is definitely suspicious, especially since its related to a case the FL's father worked years ago. These last few cases all have some kinds of connection to FL's father or the emperor in the end. You're right about Yan Li, in this episode he was in his feelings about not being loved or cared for, so he was really emotional when he realized Yue Ning was looking for and worried for him, it was quite cute. There was no relationship between those two in the novel so I'm interested to see how it turns out.
Does the emperor easily grant permission for the leads to marry or is there any hinderance as per the novel? Spoilers…
Eventually they are granted permission and marry pretty easily. There is only one hinderance where the crown prince and other prince plot to marry the Fl, but the ML easily outsmarts them and they get married without too much hinderance. But the emperor is evil, and does try to imprison the FL in the palace, but Ml saves her. This is not to stop their marriage but he wants to kill ML. Whole long story why, but the leads marry without too much hinderance in the novel.
Coming from watching Good Boy, the kissing scenes here are so disappointing.(that or im just a perv)
I also feel like even though they never say the age, technically in the novel the Fl is like 17 and ML is like 22, so they're pretty young and new to romance, where as in good boy they're like 30, so that's the difference. But good boy is a great Kdrama, highly reccommend.
