Yep same genre, just with more action and the villain also experiences the time loop, so more complicated. A bit deeper mystery, but similar concept and genre.

The whole story is moma based on the trailers. The story goes deeper with FL's missing or dead friend related to moma and MYZ's mentor bring introduced. So deeper mystery than just the two dead executives and death threats, but the whole story is related to moma. I don't think there will be a brand new case.

As for the murders, I think what happened was squid realized it was a loop day then killed them, if that makes sense. He just waited till a loop day came, then killed them, instead of estimating when a loop day would happen, he just waited till one happened and then planned and killed them. But also I like the theory that there may be a way to estimate when a loop day happens, hopefully we find out more about loop days and stuff like that later. MYZ definitely sus for sure.

Oh haha fair enough, seen a bunch of comments saying Janice Man looked like Song Yi so thought you meant that 😂 would be funny if it was actually Song Yi getting married, since she dated or may still be dating BJT, would be a nice cameo.

I don't think it was deja vu though, I thought it might be but he talks to the kid and tells him don't be scared the fifth time is the ending and the kid asks why five times. Just seems so specific that it didn't seem like deja vu like the others. But it might be deja vu, you might be right I just might be thinking too much about it, these type of shows tend to make me other think every little detail 😂

Yeh exactly, only the 5th time is the one that sticks. Doesn't matter what happens in the others. He's not in control of the time loop at all, he just remembers what happens and plans for the 5th one.

He can't trigger them, in ep 2 he says they happen randomly, he doesn't know when until they happen. It's more he keeps his memories when they happen, he doesn't cause them to happen.

I would say today's eps definitely made it more interesting, introduced a new character in Maggie who is pretty interesting and the ending of ep 7 was a very nice twist.

Big difference between rating and promotion. As I said there are some modern dramas that do extremely well, for instance The Knockout was a super, mega hit. So it happens. Just my opinion though.

But since 2023, only 5 dramas have exceeded 100m daily views on solo online streaming platforms per Yunhe, which are the Knockout, lost you forever s1, Story of Kunning palace, joy of life 2 and this thriving land. And thriving land was a dark horse.

Again the discussion was on promotion not rating. In my opinion in China, historical dramas are more heavily promoted and viewed more than modern dramas, for the most part (talking online streaming, not satellite tv/cctv etc). Again there are exceptions, like the knockout, meet yourself, hidden love, first frost etc, there definitely are ones for sure. But we are talking in general. Top 5 highest heat index shows ever on tencent, all historical. Iqiyi, top 5 highest heat index ever, the knockout, thriving land (not technically modern but also not historical), then all 3 others historical. Same with youku, mostly historical with one or two modern.

Again, nothing against modern, I love modern cdramas, my favorite cdramas ever are a couple modern ones, but we weren't talking ratings. Ofcourse many modern cdramas are rated high, but when it comes to promotion, and viewership, I think historical is mostly favored over modern in china. Just look at the yunhe charts, unless theres a dark horse hit like thriving land, at the top of the charts most of the time are historical. Ofcourse if we talk rating, I'm sure it may be different, rating is completely different to promotion and viewership. The original comment was based on promotion. Don't get me wrong, not saying theres a massive, huge difference, and there are many great modern cdramas that get a lot of promotion and viewership for sure, just talking overall. Just my opinion though, all good if you feel different, everyone has their own opinions and that's fine.

It seems the little boy was a time perceiver, same as ML, he remembers past time loops. Never really explained though but thats what I guess. I'm hoping they bring that kid back in some way, I kinda liked him

Yeh 100% agree, modern cdramas in general just don't have the same appeal, especially in china compared to historic and wuxia and xianxia. There are some modern cdramas that do extremely well, but mostly china seems to prefer historical wuxia and xianxia cdramas, epseiclaly when it comes to promotion.

No problem and I agree for sure, so many details and clues with dramas like these. I missed a bunch so rewatched the earlier episodes, like you said so easy to miss stuff.

If you haven't seen it, I would highly recommend twelve letters. One of the best cdramas of 2025 easily, but was not promoted that much sadly, barely promoted at all. Very high douban and MDL score (if you care). Not to promote other dramas here, just thought I would mention it. Also has a fantasy element/time travel ish element, very unique with a great story and acting. Very good, but it's a very heavy, emotional watch.

We see from preview of ep 8/9, and some things she said before, she joined to investigate what happened to her friend previously. Not much explained but her friend either seems to be dead or disappeared, and its connected to Momo tech, so she joined Momo and wants to rise up the ranks so she can investigate what happened to her friend. As for more, not many clues yet regarding if she's squid or a time loop perceiver or any of that.

No I agree, thats why I said no doubt he could pull of the scenes where he needs to be intimidating, he does it so well in into the ring and queen of tears, and the glory, for sure he would. But I just feel like seeing him having a cute crush for FL almost like a teenager would be less believable thats all. No hate against him, he's a great actor.

He got suspicious from the murder of the two executives. They were so well planned and executed, like someone knew exactly where the two executives would be and what they would do. So he got suspicious from that, like how would anyone else know that the guy would be under that sign at that time, and the runner would touch that particular railing. Only a time loop perceiver could have planned and done those murders so well. Also the ML realized murders of both executives happened on time loop dates. Then after that yeh, with the change in the loops, he realized for sure someone was manipulating things like he does.
