In the novel, he isn't paired with anyone, he's completely different. In the novel, he is a middle aged man that looks homeless, just a supporting character here and there, no big role. He's changed a lot for the drama so really can't tell you what will happen. As for snake, Mei Si has a crush on her (they did not have a marriage agreement in the novel) but there's no resolution as far as I can remember, just stayed as a crush (I think, can't remember the ending that well).

Based on the preview for tomorrow's ep 11, I think we can all look forward to that bath scene, plus why does Xu Kai look so good with his long hair down, suits him so well

HRF you useless villain. Man did nothing except fail to assassinate his sister a couple times, provide late reinforcement on purpose a few times drawing suspicion, then falling right into the trap of ML and FL. Would have liked to see his execution scene. On the other hand, the kisses were very nice between ml and fl.

You would think after the emperor got fooled bu Xu Jingfu for so long, he would have second thoughts about trusting anyone again, let alone his disciple.

He's had it a few times I think, also when he thought he was having impure thoughts about her, and in today's ep when she said she could keep his distance from him if he wanted and he reacted straight away, saying it was his problem not her fault. Also him needed to say his chants, just like the novel is a way to calm himself down. Plus him paving the road in front of his house for her. All minor signs that her presence affects him. All good though, drama's are subjective everyone sees things differently. And Wu Zhen definitely those things you mentioned, except towards ML most of the time, she's protective of ML, defending him and his reputation many times. Defending him from the empress when she was worried about him and that annoying poet dude. She definitely has her hidden agenda's but she also gives away her sincerity and care for the ML at times. Like when she was upset he didn't met her for lunch. Also rushing into that poison mist because she was worried ML would get hurt. But again, it's all good, if you see things differently, thats what's great about dramas, they're subjective.

It may just be on the surface, but thats what it comes across. Like I said, she has hidden agenda's but regardless, still comes across and playful, cute and flirty with the ML. And based on the preview's we'll be getting the bath scene tomorrow which provides more of that As for what happens in the future, thats to be seen. Dyanmics can change, but right now, she has been playful cute and flirty. Also I hope while they do have a serious dynamic when needed, it's nice to see the contrast between being strict and governing the spirit world, while being able to relax around ML. Just the same with ML, those small smiles show she is creeping into his heart.

Wu Zhen definitely has playful and cute flirty chemistry around the ML. Visting his house daily to eat, feeling his waist, having him piggy back her all close and personal, taking him and saying he is her man at their very first meeting (yes she has hidden agenda's but still makes for flirty and playful chemistry). Not to mention when she drew out the poison from him by kissing his lips, my god. She is fearless and feared except around ML. And that slight smile by ML speaks volumes, when he is stoic and cold around everyone else, the smile shows a lot, also how he worries he is having impure thoughts about her. Come on, that shows a lot.

Want to suggest Legend of the female general.
The ML and FL have such cute and perfect chemistry. While they don't get together till late, throughout the drama they have a supportive relationship, helping each other through the trials of war and the plots and schemes of their enemies. They soon fall for each other but keep it a secret from each other until they finally confess get together. A small hiccup when they get together, due to plotting of the 2ml, the 2ml gets decreed to marry her (even though the ML and FL are together and agreed to marry). However, as soon as the decree is given to her, FL marches to the palace and says to the emperor she will only marry ML or stay single forever. ML after discussion with his brother, goes to FL and says the same, she is his wife and no one else. So it's not a break up or misunderstanding, resolved in the same episode. Overall they are so cute together, with arguably the most perfect confession ever in ep 29/30. Plus all this is happening during the backdrop of battles and warfare. The FL is a total badass (when she's not being cute around the ML). This drama has some epic action scenes which the FL carries, with superb fighting choreography. The FL is a total, no mercy badass when she needs to be. the ML himself, is a deadly general, with a heart of stone to all except those close to him. The romance, mixed with great fighting and battles scenes, make for a great mix of romance and action, carried by the chemistry between the ML and FL.

Heyyy, I can return the favor for WDBTD. Should definitely start it. The chemistry between the leads is fantastic. They have such playful cute, flirty chemistry. The world is really interesting and magical with all the different spirits and demons. So far the demon cases have also been interesting and pretty emotional. The story is carried by the leads and the sfl. They all play their parts so well, they are so well suited to their roles. TXW plays her character to perfection, her flirty, playful attitude is perfect. Xu Kai is so good as the stricter, but slightly emotional Daoist cultivator. The cinematography and costume design is wonderful. Everything looks so beautiful, definitely worth a watch. Same director as the double. A very fun and entertaining watch.
However be warned, there are global distribution problems. In some areas, like USA it's not available anywhere at all (besides pirate sites). Meant to be releasing on viki in some areas very soon potentially tomorrow. Otherwise meant to release on Disney plus soon, or it's also the mztv YouTube channel.

I liked it because it was something different. Personally I like slice of life kind of stories, like Meet yourself the cdrama is my type of show. So it suited me I didn't mind that there was no real plot or a lot of action or suspense. I found the start was good, laid a nice foundation, but I can understand if you found the start boring, glad you liked it after.

Damn, didn't realize it was that tall, thats really tall, surprising, I'm now going to have to pay attention to their upcoming scenes together in the drama and see what their heights looking like
