In China they're not considered that big (no hate to either, I love them both), Cheng Lei only recently started getting main lead roles in bigger dramas, really only this year, before that he was more supporting or lead in smaller dramas. And Song Yi though established, rarely leads big dramas as the first billed star. No hate to either again, love them both, but neither of them are known for carrying dramas by themselves yet. Also just a thing of iqiyi prioritizing other dramas with bigger stars whether right or wrong. They can only do a certain amount of s+ dramas a year. I definitely wish this had a bigger budget as I'm really liking it so far. Not sure if this is an s or a+ budget, maybe someone else will know.

So normally for an extra cost or svip subscribers, they will release the last 5-6 episodes all at the same time. For example prisoner of beauty released episode 32-36 all at the same time for those wiling to pay extra to see the episodes early, thats what express episodes are, releasing all the remaining episode at the same time for those that want to pay to see them early. So the normal schedule on the 2nd we will probably get one or two episodes like normal, but with express they will release all the episodes left at the same time, and you can pay to see them early. Thats means technically he show will end on the 2nd, but for those that don't want to pay, they will keep releasing episodes like normal until its finished.

I normally hate amnesia tropes but this one is done well. It's nice how she questions her memories, she questions her supposed family, she doesn't just blindly believe her 'memories' and what she's been told. She also just doesn't blindly believe ML. It's also nice how she trusts her feelings regarding ML, and it's nice how quickly she discovers the truth. Also nice how ML doesn't try force her to remember or isn't extra pushy, he's just pushy enough without crossing the line. Pretty well done tbh.

Yeh thats the one, from what I heard script originally followed the novel which is happy ending but iqiyi people thought an open/sad ending would perform better so they changed it using ai. Thats just roughly what I read can't remember all the details.

In the novel it's different, he is the son of the new emperor/king of his country, when his father becomes emperor (right at the end of the novel), he becomes the crown prince. So the drama is a bit different with the family set up so not sure what will happen. You'd think if his brother dies, and has no children, then he inherits the throne.

I agree, kind of like Bai Lu, this year she took on northward which was seen as a massive change for her, not an idol related show, more realistic with broader appeal to the older viewers. Not attractive to idol/traffic viewers but having broader appeal to a wider audience. She mentioned this year in an interview she doesn't want to do idol dramas anymore and do dramas more appropriate for her age and more realistic (her words), to try reach a broader audience, and focus on being known for her acting rather then popularity or looks or anything like that. Whether you like her or not, and like northward or not, I think it's really commendable what she's doing. Not to discuss another actors on this drama page but I hope Xu Kai does the same and possibly fire investigator is along those lines.
