OMG, how much more crap are they going to dump on Uea? A horrible abusive homophobic mother, a horrible abusive cheating ex-boyfriend who sexually assauted him at the end of the episode and they ended it like that, and a creepy pedophile uncle (his mother's boyfriend supposedly) who has probably sexually abused him as a kid on top of it all. No wonder he is the way he is and doesn't trust anyone. I hope they are done with doing horrible things to him, it's really hard to watch. The preview for the next episode was scary.
I stopped reading the comments and commenting here after episode 7, which remains my favourite together with episode 9, because the bashing got too much for me and I decided that it was about time to enjoy my favourite gmmtv couple without the hate. It was the best decision for me.
To get it over with: episode 11 and the first half of episode 12 were a trainwreck. I loved the series, but I can admit that. Until episode 10, I had no complains, and the reunion scene (episode 10, part 4) is actually the scene I've rewatched most in the entire series; I think I watched it every day for at least a week, it moved me so much. However, the writing for episodes 11 and 12 (with the exception of the ending) was atrocious, it felt rushed, like the screenwriters were just dying to get it over with, no matter how. There was that much the actors could do with that script. Pond and Phuwin are not to blame. I know I'm biased, because I love them, but I really think it was not their fault.
For me, the love story between Nueng and Palm and Nueng's character (and character development) were the best things about the series, together with the cinematography, and Pond and Phuwin's chemistry carried all of it. I can watch these two stare at each other for hours and not get tired of it. Please give me another series with them with a better writing, something romantic or a romantic comedy would be best.
I don't get the love for Ben and Chopper, they had no development and I see no chemistry. Ben started out as the more interesting character of the two, but at the end, Chopper ended up as the important character, so Ben could have been absent completely and it wouldn't have made any difference.
I admit the last two episodes were disappointing and objectively, Moonlight Chicken was a better series (actually, the best gmmtv BL from 2022), but I have no wish whatsoever to rewatch MC, but I've already started rewatching this. This is why both shows received the same rating from me.
The subs are the best I've found so far and are not auto-generated, but it ends there, the second half of episode 2 is not translated. Hopefully that nice person will continue, because I really like the series.
Ashesinthewind said below in the comments that the production will provide engsub later, so we can try again then!
It would be nice of them to annouce when, not only reply that they are working on it in a comment. If they say when they will release it with subs for once and all, then we'll know and wait without having to check again and again, it's annoying. I know there are many BLs to watch right now, but I really like this one and the one episode I got to watch with proper subs was promising.
Going against the flow here, but I love Uea and I understand him. He's a way more interesting character than King, who right now is underdeveloped, like many love interests in BLs.
Someone posted the first episode with Portuguese subs and they seem to be working better for me than the messy auto-generated English subs. Considering that I don't speak Portuguese, but only Spanish, it works well enough, to my surprise. The BL fandom in Brazil seems very dedicated.
Ai is like the cutest bean ever, I absolutely adore him, he's so charming. No wonder so many guys are after him.
Was that dormitory sorting inspired by Harry Potter?
And he gets blamed for not wanting to talk to King about it and took the blame for what happened voluntarily.…
I honestly hadn't considered it from this angle, so thank you! Maybe I was too hard on King. And I really do understand him to a certain point, because it's obvious he likes Uea and it's not just about sex for him.
And he gets blamed for not wanting to talk to King about it and took the blame for what happened voluntarily.…
The ONS would've never happened with Uea sober. It was established pretty well that Uea dislikes King and was trying everything to avoid any contact with him. Even if we argue that Uea is physically attracted to King and has always been despite disliking his personality, he still wouldn't have slept with him while sober. This is what it comes to.
King behaved like he did nothing wrong. I also didn't like how he locked the door of the printer room when he went to confront Uea. He can't know that Uea's mother used to lock him in the bathroom, of course, but still... not giving Uea the possibility to escape if he still doesn't feel like talking about it didn't bode well with me.
i honestly f-ing hate shows that start with rape. they brush it off and the ml doesn't even think sleeping with…
And he gets blamed for not wanting to talk to King about it and took the blame for what happened voluntarily. It broke my heart when he said to King it was his fault the ONS happened, because he was too reckless. Yes, he was reckless, because he should've known better than drink that much, but he was not to blame for the ONS. King didn't put up much of a fight. I get it, he obviously has liked Uea for a long time, but the ONS is on him, not Uea, and would've liked to hear him say it.
The cuts on YouTube are minimal. There is, however, one cut sentence in a scene that is kinda important to understand…
There's a sentence cut from their first encounter in the bar. In the YouTube version, King sees Uea, goes to him and asks him: "Are you here alone? Can I...?" At that moment, his date arrives and takes him away. He never finishes his question.
In the uncut version, King is given the possibility to end his question: "Are you here alone? Can I have your number?" before his date comes to drag him away from Uea. I watched the YouTube version first and was really confused about what King did exactly to annoy Uea that much. It wasn't before I watched the uncut version until I got it. I think it's a very unfortunate cut that would leave many people confused and some of them would judge Uea, unfairly, because he did have a good reason to be pissed off about a guy who was there with a date and hit on him at the same time.
Is there any difference on iqiyi version and youtube version?? Because I'm planning on spending some cash on iqiyi…
The cuts on YouTube are minimal. There is, however, one cut sentence in a scene that is kinda important to understand why Uea dislikes King so much. No idea why they decided to cut that, it doesn't make sense. The rest is irrelevant for the plot.
Did you miss out on Candy Color Paradox, The New Employee, Old Fashion Cupcake, Roommates of Poongduck and Senpai…
Thank you for the recs! From these shows, I've started only Candy Color Paradox, but it didn't hold my interest and I didn't finish it. I'll check the rest of them out.
I like the main leads and their chemistry, but even if I didn't, I'd watch this for one thing I'm missing in BL - the office romance! There's not enough of it IMO. I rewatched Cherry Magic recently and realised how much I'm craving an office romance, no matter a nice sweet one or a messy one like in this case.
The editing is off, but I love the characters, especially Uea, and rewatched it already, so I'm good. I already know I'll like this way more than Cutie Pie.
Edit: the sex scenes felt disjointed because we're in Uea's POV and he was drunk, so he remembered only fragments. It felt very reaslsitic to me that he won't delve into what happened too much, especially when it's clear he wouldn't have done it if he'd been sober.
I'm really sad this isn't released internationally, at least yet (I hope it will be eventually because they put subtitles to the trailer), because it has everything in a BL I enjoy - an one-sided crush, university setting, humour and lovely mains. I enjoyed the first episdode - the auto-generated subs are not ideal, but they helped. Sadly, no subs, even bad ones, for episode 2.
Please don’t eat me, but is the show actually good from an objective point of view? So far only fans of the…
I'm not a fan of EarthMix and I like it. It's a mature, slower paced and serious show, though, so if you prefer light-hearted shows or such with a lot of action, it might not be for you. I'd recommend to try it.

They'll have to make the series available outside Thailand on WeTV, too, though. Right now I can't watch even without subs.

Gmmtv is releasing an office romance series after MSP, though. I hope it will be a good one.
