I'm finally convinced with Kan and Thua. Kan was willing to see Thua with Ayan if that's what they wanted. And that kiss was amazing, nothing like their FUTS kiss. I used to think they had little chemistry, but it seems the directing and how a scene is shot adds a lot to the way we perceive a couple on screen.
As for Akk and Ayan, it's going to be about choosing between love and duty and what everyone expects of you, right? Exactly my kind of story, I live for it, gimme! I'm a little disappointed the amazing kiss from last episode was just an imagination, but it still has a purpose to show how strong Akk's feeling are. Also, the real kiss is coming next week.
Am I the only one who actually likes that Akk calls Ayan by his full name? I think it's cute.
I rewatched all 6 episodes yestersay - am in vacation visiting my parents with nothing better to do - and want to point out a couple of things I'd missed before.
- I don't get how Akk could manipulate the car, run back to the other two prefects as quickly as he apparently did and then run to the street together with them. How far was that car parked? He suspected from the beginning that Ayan had seen him, and Ayan was not that far away when the accident happened. - Akk was ruthless during that investigation inquiery when teacher Sani asked the guy responsible for the car if he'd forgotten to secure it. He was the one to say it was possible. They easily could've put the blame on the innocent man for something Akk did and fired him. - Akk was indeed attracted to Ayan from the beginning, but not Ayan, his feelings kinda developed from episode 2. - I correct my earlier comment on teacher Sani, she seems to be indeed a good person caught in the middle.
I can't help but wonder are they versatile? Or not? They don't follow any stereotypical tropes.
This is one of the many, many things that is so great about this series, the characters are not easy to be stereotyped. I noticed in the YouTube comments many people asking the same thing and can't help but wonder why it matters. To me, Ayan and Akk are versatile, like most gay and lesbian couples in RL.
And I have to give cudos to Gmmtv for giving us not one, but two BL couples this year that are not easy to be put into the "top and bottom" category. I hope they keep it on, I personally love it.
In the first trailer there is a scene very similar to Ayan's nightmare in ep. 6, but the person who jumped from the cliff was not Ayan's uncle, but Akk. If this is going to happen and the nightmare is meant as foreshadowing, I have to prepare to cry a lot. Ayan's already obviously traumatized after what has happened to the uncle. I can't imagine him having to witness the same thing with Akk.😭
This was the best episode for me so far, and seeing that the last couple of episodes were already very good, this is saying something.
Finally we got to understand two things - why Akk was after Ayan since the beginning (because I believe that he at least has suspected Ayan had seen him manipulating the car) and why Akk punched him in the locker room after Ayan threatened to say who was behind the curse. He was protecting himself the whole time. I'm still convinced his motives are mostly selfish. He clearly said he doesn't want the school rules threatened while he is the lead prefect. Of course he doesn't want to disappoint his parents, but it's still mostly about himself and his reputation and future. His huge crush on Ayan is very inconvinient and is probably the only thing standing in his way right now.
Words cannot describe how much I love Ayan. Such a brave, caring, vulnerable and yet strong person. He is there for a revenge, but IMO the difference between him and Akk is that he would never go as far, not even if that teacher is involved. Let's see if I'm right and how far his revenge will go.
Unlike everybody else, I'm suspicious of teacher Sani, she seemed way too interested in the prefects' trio. I wonder why.
The funniest scene was Akk and Ayan with the cat. Akk's explanation about hugging Ayan to protect him from getting scratched got me laughing so hard. Like, really, it was as funny as him thinking teacher Dika was Ayan's boyfriend. I love how every time Ayan confronts him about the absurd things he says. And of course, every time Akk says something like that is somehow connected to his crush on Ayan. A propos, crush. I saw some people complain the kiss was rushed for an enemies-to-lovers SL. I strongly disagree. They've been attracted to each other from the beginning and both were aware of it. Even Akk hasn't been in denial about it (at least to himself) since he found himself sniffing on Ayan's jacket. Then we have to consider everything that happened in this episode and how much more bonding they did. They confronted each other, cried together, made confessions, had dinner, had several close moments, and the touching and staring happened all the time. Them sleeping in the same bed and Ayan's nightmare was the last straw and Akk just couldn't take anymore, which, of course, was the only encouragement Ayan needed.
From the currently airing BL series I'm watching, this is the best one, and it's definitely the best Gmmtv has produced this year.
I'm going to leave a proper review after I've rewatched the episode tomorrow, but just wanted to say that I might've rewinded and seen that kiss several times. ☺
At this point, I've decided to just enjoy what I like and ignore what makes me wince. Thankfully, there's Sky, whom I adore more than anything. He was the reason I started watching this series and this hasn't changed. Catching the wind without realizing it is quite an achievement, after all. 😉I also very much like Noeul's acting - he is so charming and cute that I've upgraded Rain to my second-favourite character.
All in all, I'm waiting for Sky and Prapai to start, because I want more Sky and also to finally find out more about Sky's love interest. The Prapai/ Saifah scene was funny, but I want to see more of him, preferably before the PrapaiSky story starts.
Wait so do they get 7 episodes each? Or they will only give SkyPrapai 5 episodes? Cause on here it says there…
PhayuRain get 7 episodes, PrapaiSky 6 episodes, although I think there will be some of them in ep. 7. There will be a special episode 14 for both couples.
I mean it's a series not porn the fact that we got a love scene is enough they at least showed the condom, they…
Thank you so much for being the voice of reason. Those who want to see lube, proper preparation and taking their time with it, should indeed watch porn. This isn't it. I'm glad we got a sensual NC scene which was detailed enough, but still tasteful. It's clear they can't show every single detail.
So, Puen recognized the hat with the alpaca drawing, absolutely understandable. But why didn't Talay remember he'd drawn a hat like that before and given it, coincidentally, to an actor in his own universe? He seriously didn't remember giving the exactly same hat to someone else and having the same conversation about llamas and alpacas? Am I missing something?
Also: please tell me Fuse and Aou are happening, because I'm totally here for them!
Finally someone agrees with me! I saw people comment that he looked hesitant, but this is not what I saw at all.…
I think so too, he looked determined to do anything. I also love that his motives aren't entirely altruistic like it looked before. I think his main reason to act this way is his scholarship and future, i.e. completely selfish reasons. It makes him more human and real in my eyes, unlike the robot who repeated the same things from the first episodes.
I'm so glad to see so many multi-dimensional characters in this series, it makes it probably the best one airing at the moment.
That was a hell of an episode, and the preview is killing me.
I'm glad we got some background on Akk and his motivations to act the way he does, it finally gives more depth to his character. The most intense moment was when he asked Ayan how Teacher Dika was with that knowing look that left no room for Ayan to lie or try to deny anything. Also, it turns out that he liked Teacher Dika and called him a traitor because he changed schools, not because he disliked him. Talk about a twist.
Him being behind the "curse" is not surprising, I remember making a comment saying that it should be either Namo or any of the prefects themselves, and given their personalities, Akk is indeed the most probable choice. He's skating on thin ice, though, the accidents with the flower pots and the car could've indeed hurt people. I'm wondering if he was behind them or someone else is involved in the curse, too.
I tried very hard to see who was not there during the Judo lesson, but it was hard. Anyway, Namo and Akk were there, and it seems like everybody was in the locker room afterwards. Sneaking out during that lesson seems almost impossible, but I still think it has to be one of the main characters. I think it might be Thua, although I have no explanation how he would do it, only because in the past he asked Ayan to stop and cares about him and probably thinks he's helping. Speaking of Thua, I hope he gets a boyfriend who is not Kan, he deserves better than someone who tells him he could talk to him about everything, but would drop him in public the moment his internalized homophobia kicks in.
On a sidenote, all 4 leads are good-looking, but (for me) there's something about Peat and his eyes that hits…
IA, he is gorgeous, there's something special about him. And yes, he has very expressive and striking eyes. He is also naturally funny, his comments in the reaction videos are hilarious. To me, he is the most attractive of the four.
I can't wait for Sky's story, but I'm enjoying Rain and Payu more than I expected, and Noeul is adorable.
Wow, that NC scene was really well done. In fact, I haven't been that impressed with a NC scene since Tutor and Fighter.
And it's great they put it on YouTube after all, but why without subtitles? I hope they'll add them.
The rest of the episode was a little slow, there were some weird cuts, but I really liked Payu, he's improved a lot, and as always I was happy every time I saw Sky.
This is a great observation. Ayan attracts so much attention with the mystery that surrounds him that I forgot…
Thank you for the detailed and well thought out reply, for me everything you said makes sense indeed. And yes, Akk's behaviour not making much sense is what I was talking about, but given the situation, I think you're right that it's not supposed to make sense and it's supposed to mirror the way Akk's feeling, i.e. confused as hell and in denial about his own feelings. Additionally, I think he is struggling to understand the motivation behind Ayan's flirting with him and how much of it is real, because he knows Ayan does have a hidden agenda to be in this school, but to be honest, I'm not sure even Ayan would be able to say how much of his flirting is because of the attraction he feels for Akk and how much of it is meant to get Akk to back off and leave him get his revenge in peace.
As for Akk and Ayan, it's going to be about choosing between love and duty and what everyone expects of you, right? Exactly my kind of story, I live for it, gimme!
