ML was handsome but that's pretty much it. I felt like the story dragged. 50 eps would have been fine. FL was always rejecting ML like why? He's rich, handsome, and wants you LOL. I only finished this because my sis wanted me to watch it 😄

If you actually watched it all, you’d realize that she wasn’t born evil. She was only prophesied to be evil, but it was her own fox clan's elders and humans that ultimately made this prophecy come true.

Or also, me realizing that this director has like "Love" in his works.

I get it. I don't mind the new addition stuffs; like you said, it's also one of my favorite scenes so I wished it was utilized well in the drama. The leads don't even have to sleep with eachother to deepen their relationship as per the novel, it would have been nice to see them bond/get close for various other reasons and then bam this box comes into play. But, I haven't seen today's ep to see how it concludes the box issue.

I thought the neck grab was too intense. 😆 I would have left too honestly, and even help you pack your bags and be like let's gooo!

As someone who has read the novel, I kind of wish that box scene came later. That box scene was a significant part which shows that no matter how close the leads get, which they kind of did; male lead will always be guarded against her and put her feelings second. This sets the dynamics and how their relationship will constantly be like, and why this makes it hard for them to open up to each other although Wei Shao can't help but be attracted to her.

I'm also surprised that nobody asked about that neck grab yet. 😄

Don't worry. She's always on FL's side. Grandma actually doesn't like SFL. She's smart and wise.

Ah yeah, I recall some memories of it. That was probably the reason. And yes, male lead loves his grandma.

Pretty good. The only thing I disliked most was female lead's excessive makeup and headpiece.

Other than that, I like how female lead was a nice person yet she's strong and smart. Same with male lead who was smart.

I know the ex husband deserved what he did to her, but I kind of feel sad for him at the end.

Ch. 93 – It was the day of the ancestral worship. Male lead seemed fine the morning of, but while drunk at night, he reverted back to himself. **Another sad moment for the female lead.
Ch. 94 – Continuing off of what happened with Ch. 93, this is the first time female lead has spoken against male lead and opened up how she really felt. Male lead decided to use work as a way to run away.
Ch. 96 & Ch. 97 - Haha, after their failed talk, male lead initially planned to leave on his excursion, but the grandmother wanted him to take female lead, and he refused. Now, the grandmother is leaving for the temple with the mom, male lead wants the grandmother to take the female lead, but grandmother refuses. So, male lead ends up delaying the plan to leave. Female lead didn’t care; she went about her own business and caught the eyes of some young scholarly men. Female lead had a spicy dream in her druken state or did she?...***Warning, this part, ahem male lead’s intensity was high, he was naughty here.
Ch. 98 – This chapter was hilarious. Male lead left for 3 days on his excursion but he ends up coming back to get female lead per the grandmother’s order, sure sure LOL. Female lead still angry refuses to leave with him and she learns of who was with her on that drunken night. Male lead kidnaps female lead.
Ch. 101, 102, 103 – So, while male lead did bring the female lead with him, he left her at another city while he went to war. He got injured so a worried female lead gave in and visits him. It’s good to read this chapter as you get a peek at the male lead’s thoughts atm. Plus, wow, female lead really did that LOL.

I don't quite remember. Was it because he thought of his past with her and decided to spare her? Maybe that's why he didn't kill her but instead disfigured her?...I was only able to read towards the ending once so I don't remember much of the details.

LOL! I forgot what she did because I only read the 2nd half of the ending once. I just know that she pissed off ML to the point where he cut up her nose and I'm like daaaaaang 🤣😂

Like someone mentioned earlier, the female lead in the drama is a bit more intelligent than her novel counterpart because in the first few episodes, she's shown scheming to have him marry her. But the novel counterpart female lead fears him as she is a transmigratory soul who has all the memory of the previous her; she knows what he's capable of.

Similar to the novel, female lead makes plans without the male lead’s knowledge to protect herself and her clan. She can be a bit scheming, but it mainly comes from a place of self-preservation and loyalty to her family.

There’s no direct confrontation between the female lead and the male lead, even when she’s hurt and angered by his actions. She holds back for a few reasons: 1) he’s her husband, 2) she’s a Xiao, and 3) her family are considered sinners towards the Wei, and he still harbors a deep hatred that could destroy them, so she needs to tread carefully around him. I mean she does show him that she's angry and pissed off at him, but I don't know what confrontation you're looking for. If I remember correctly, she does defy him twice in the novel, which is a significant moment given their power dynamic.

Despite male lead's cruelty, he does protect her, and one thing I appreciate is how he eventually owns up to his mistakes towards her.

The title aligns perfectly with the story, as it captures the dynamic of her being sent to him as a prisoner bride. Her beauty and presence gradually melt his cold exterior, breaking down his walls over time. If the female lead was truly evil, she would’ve manipulated him into her control long ago, using his feelings against him.

Hopefully, this will entice you to read the whole novel LOL. The drama might not keep these scenes though. Too spicy!

Ch. 31 & ch. 32 - A little spicy. The first of many. Male lead was fed aphrodisiac by his mom. **Her virgin hands no longer.
Ch. 37 - Male lead couldn't hold back his desire. His first attempt.
Ch. 39 & ch. 40 - Their first night. I added ch. 39 because it led to the event in ch. 40.
Ch. 45, 46, 47, 48 - Male lead came back from war and was super thirsty LOL. He did some crazy stuffs to female lead along these chapters. They are quite frequently intimate after these chapters, but it doesn't go into full details so I won't include those.
Ch. 50 & Ch. 51 - Male lead learns to please female lead too so he's not the only one that enjoys it and then a misunderstanding happens.
Ch. 53 - Male lead attempts to sleep with female lead but she was not having it.
Ch. 55 & Ch. 56 - Male lead attempts again to sleep with the female lead, but she was on her menstrual cycle. I included this one because it has a sweet scene even after she's still angry with him or he thinks she's angry haha. **Her virgin feet no longer.
Ch. 57 - Male lead had to ask for it.
Ch. 61 - ***Warning: Male lead attempts to rape female lead because of one big issue relating to his cousin. Issue resolved in Ch. 65 & ch. 66 with a bit of intimacy in Ch. 66 (two of some of my favorite chapters).
Ch. 69 & Ch. 70 - Love these two chapters too, **but it's a sad chapter for the female lead since her feelings are brushed aside. If you want to read the part where male lead knows he's actually wronged the female lead then Ch. 72. Here, he also meets Su E Huang for the first time in a long time.
Ch. 74 - They slept together before male lead departs again for war.
Ch. 87, 88, 89 - Haha, I love all the previous chapters leading up to this event because male lead came back early from the war, but female lead was no where to be seen. Her aunt got sick so she got permission from the male lead's grandma to go home. Male lead was so angry and petty that she didn't stay to wait at home for his return. He misses her, but used his grandma as an excuse to go pick her up and it's funny because he outpaced her LOL but thankfully he didn't miss her. However, I only included the meet and the sweet scenes since you want the spicy part only.

I haven't finished Present, is Present yet, but yes this male lead is good at acting. He's actually one of the rare ones where I watched most of his dramas and realize that he acts each of his character differently. If I didn't know him, I wouldn't even realize that he was playing all of them.

Ah! Yes, someone else was commenting about that. Looks like the drama changed it. In the novel, Huang was actually engaged to ML until his family died and lost power. She chose to marry someone else which basically lost in favor with ML already. I mean, she's also up against FL when she comes back. The drama doesn't emphasize much as of "yet", but I see female lead like Helen of Troy where she's so so beautiful that guys will go to war just for her.

😂 True. It's because of ML's mom scheming that he actually got closer to female lead.
