I took a while to finish this or moreso on pushing myself to finish since I had started it and had less than 10 eps to go.
I liked it, but didn't love it. There were draggy parts or arcs that I feel could be omitted. I agree with some previous comments mentioning how there were too many one dimensional characters that were created only to make issues and give halos to our heroine; it was like one after another and became exhausting.
I finished the last ep without even realizing that it was the last ep π, had to double check myself.
But..I really did like XK's protrayal of YZM - wished I had seen more of him. Also, I did like the mother and daughter relationship protrayed by Yang Zi and He Sai Fei moreso towards the ending where I felt it was more genuine, they really did acted like they were mother and daughter.
Dang! Writer was super cruel to YZM. I was hoping they weren't going to pull a you-know-accident and they did! So mean! It's sad to see YZM break further after what happened in his childhood. I was hoping that the dad would be able to make it up to him and vice versa. Sighs...
Yes MCH should have fired him in the beginning. Instead she gave a salary bump along with other employees and…
From what I know since I'm basing on real life, YZM's company can afford to fire and change staff members however, Xing An Li does not have that luxury as they're not making enough profits to cover the expenses. IDK how it is in China, but in the U.S., you need a legimate reason to fire someone or they can sue you back or file for unemployment, and if the employee wins then they either get a lump sum or gets money through unemployment paid by the so called company that fired them for so-so months or years until the employee finds a new job.
That talk with the mom in ep 28 was much needed because their mother and daughter relationship was honestly getting toxic. It was good, then bad, good and bad, and mom never learns her lessons. Like Chenghuan mentioned, they were only trying to be good on the surface with eachother and treading lightly at the relationship, but that didn't work so a heart to heart talk was much needed. I was even surprised that Chenghuan brought up the slap incident because it meant she was hurt deeply by the mom and just because she forgave the mom doesn't mean she forgot about it. Sighs...life.
He's kept so much in too. I felt like he only released a little bit of it to his mom in trying not to overwhelm…
Yes π’. IDK if it's the actor's acting or as a character Zao is acting tough so others wouldn't worry because during that scene I saw it as him reminiscencing the past but it wasn't until the upcoming eps that I saw it as a pretty scarred childhood.
WY is an over-the-top mom, but don't we all know someone like that? I mean, I have friends who constantly scream…
I've been waiting for that worker to submit his resignation letter since he said last time he wanted to quit. Unfortunately, FL can only fire him when she has a good enough reason to do so like if he becomes lazy and doesn't do a good job or does something to sabotage his work.
Just finished ep 26 - poor zao - his mother NEVER has his back.
He's kept so much in too. I felt like he only released a little bit of it to his mom in trying not to overwhelm her. He definitely felt abandoned, bullied, and not loved, but still grew up to be a good and docile kid; makes me think back to when he told Mao Mao how he didn't used to talk, that should be a sign to be concerned about.
I'm actually surprised this is not directed by Zeng Qing Jie, because everything is so similar to Butterflied…
Saaame! This director did do a beautiful job though in capturing and putting in an effort to all the other details besides the leads that would usually get left out.
