Love it! Although I really enjoyed Part One for its storyline and Li Ke Yi’s poised yet restrained dynamic with the male lead as she navigated a new century, I loved Part Two for the deeper look into their relationship—plus all the steamy kisses and flirty scenes. 💕
Watching them with other people and coming back to rewatch this surprises me how natural their scenes were together like I'm blushing along side them too.
Damn! FL took it all the way. Love it! I love how she wanted revenge and could resort to using herself, yet was still kind hearted enough to not hurt innocent people and smart enough to protect herself. I just wish that the drama could have given us another 10 to 20 eps at the beginning to show how the leads met and the progress of that relationship before jumping on the gun in ep 2. BTW, LSD is such a great actor, that ending scene when he was looking at the picture.
Love the intensity with LSD and LKY'S character in here. The dynamics and their acting in here is different from their 2 other dramas that they starred together in.
This was so good! Just wish we could have gotten a second season because this drama definitely deserves one. I want more! I felt like it just started getting really good and then bam we're done. I love it when vertical dramas just mainly focuses on the leads because they only got so little minutes to work with which this one did; not saying storyline is not needed but if the plot is really good then I don't mind it taking over the romance scene. I watched all six vertical dramas of MQY and LSD together and can say that this one was definitely my favorite. Lu Shan Dong looks extra good in here (2nd to his other one that he played with MQY) might be because of his character and the hair slick. Also, surprisingly they have a real kiss scene together.
Well, if you compare this drama to their other ones that they've play together then this drama is the better one so far; although I've yet to see all the ones they've played together. This drama was hilarious. I just wished there were better subs. This drama does have it's flaws but it wasn't that bad.
On DramaBox, it is called, "Boomerang Love"DB🪙: https://app.dramaocean.com/db_land_page/SHARE1050009.html?bid=41000103248&cid=570615383&cindex=99&uid=f4a94d17fe43678cc02702603feb059b&lan=en&st=98&rf=1&layer=962&group=2483
I don't usually watch Japanese dramas, but after reading your great review, I'll give it a try, even though I…
Aweee, thanks! I hope you can enjoy the Jap version although the K version wasn't that good for you. I hardly watch J-dramas unless it features one of my favorite actor/actress or a storyline that I can vibe with.
This cured my Thai drama slope. I have not finished a Thai drama in about over three to four years now. I love the vibe of this drama. At first, I was about to drop this because the first half of ep 1 was too animated directed or over the top for me, but I'm glad I powered through. I might be in the minority where I actually really liked the slow burn romance for the first half of the show which made it so worthwhile when the leads finally got together. I thought I wouldn't like the girl chasing the guy trope, but here it makes sense and actually the female didn't really do that. She was mainly dropping love hints and was already flirtatious from the get go so all that was natural coming from her. She only started chasing the ML after she knew his really feelings.
At times, the ML was really slow. I'm just like dude, I understand that you didn't get it at first, but you should now right?!...no...lol...Anyways, I was never really a fan of Tor before, but he did an impressive job in here. He came off really charming to me and I've seen him play Hua Jai Sila before but never cared. Here, I do. Like, I get why the FL is head over heels for him. It's the way how he carries himself, his principles and integrity; his selfless love for his family even when it's slowly breaking him apart. Ugh, I need me a Wichai too!
Love the FL's character! She's really well written all around. Even her duo with her brother Prasit had me LMAO whenever they're on my screen scheming. I especially love how FL never once cared about standing up for herself against the ML's mom's slander, but ooooo when the mom went after ML, tsk tsk, FL lost it. Nobody can look down on Wichai in front of her, this girl will protect her man. Having watched most of Yaya's dramas, I can say that one thing I've noticed lately are her awkward facial expressions or her hand gesture moments where they come off not natural to me. It's not an ugly look, but to me it feels like she's trying too hard at those scenes.
Two things that I had an issue with this drama thus it's not getting the 10 rating is I wished ML was a bit more verbal too. I was waiting for him to say I love you to FL. I think he never did unless I missed it somehow. He's always thanking her for her love and understanding, but what about I love you lol...like not even a I love you for who you are and the unconditional love and happiness that you've given me. And then, there were some flaws with writing or editing issues where I'm sure ML knew that FL liked him, but then you get these weird after scenes where he would resort back to not knowing or trying to reaffirm her feelings for him...for example, the rain scene where she finally confessed to him, and then told him again while he was sick in bed, and then through her paper letters. Even with all these confessions from her, he had the audacity to ask her about her secret feelings that she's hiding...lol...I'm confused.
Anyways, point being I still love this drama. I can see myself rewatching it.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. Just wish it was a bit longer during the second half to showcase how the female lead really felt towards the male lead.
Is it mostly rage bait with level of scumminess of ML? 😀
Male lead's not a scum. The romance development was lacking because there was no real development between the leads especially from the female lead. Female lead is also constantly in a repetitive fight with her annoying ex. Story had no real plot so pretty boring.
Having watched both versions, I gotta say this one was way better. I love how the female lead is more independent here. She’s clearly into the male lead, but she knows when to step back. The male lead was still that complex, intriguing type, but at least this time we actually got to see why he is the way he is.
What I really liked was how their relationship wasn’t as toxic or based on lust like the Kdrama. Male lead is still a jerk in here, but at least he has his reasons. You can tell that male lead's feelings for female lead is mutual but it hurts to not see him act on it, which is why I wish there were more scenes between them. And, it would have been nice to get a deeper dive into their struggles while they were creating their art pieces.
The last episode was truly beautiful, though. It wrapped everything up nicely and left me with a warm, satisfied feeling.
Also, I was so captivated by Ryusei. Never realized how gorgeous his eyes were.

But, there's many other great short and vertical dramas so I recommend skipping this one. You won't miss much LOL.

Also, the backstory was really sad, actually had me in tears.
