Agreed. For me the selfish one in this equation is DH. Calling it all an "acting gig" when it's clearly something way different. I hate how when she rejected the offer, he was still insisting. Like I get that he struggles. But just leave the country and go back to NYC. Why drag your best friend into your messy family? He's exploiting her bad situation, that's it. The show didn't really make me feel any sympathy to him...

What are you trying to prove? Yes, TRS is mediocre too, for me at least. The same with many recent hyped dramas. And if it wasn't, it still wouldn't prove anything. Damn, people just can't state their opinion nowadays.

He's the most paid actor cause he's popular. Not saying that he's not talented. But if talented people were paid the most, believe me, the world of kdramas would be much different.

No, they were dating for less than 3 months and most likely would like to keep it a secret, especially taking into consideration RJY's previous long time relationship.

Also I feel that recently we're too angry at the leads doing stupid/bad/cruel things, especially at the beginning. It makes no sense for everyone to be perfect at the start! Where would the character development go then? One of my favourite stories is a manga about a bully who realises his mistakes years later, and makes up for them, at the same time living with his guilt. Like the ML here is in no way that bad, but let's not be mad at him from the very beginning! Sure, his behaviour is nonsensical and if he truly cared about his brother he wouldn't be behaving that way. We should not condone it, but watching him grow is so fun! He clearly is a good person at heart, give him some time!

This is the humour I want in kdramas. Not some cringey ass side characters shoved in for so-called comedic purposes. This drama's leads are so cool together!

Great overall. I love these Count of Monte Christo-type plots, and this was fantastic. Just wish that we got more satisfying reveal of ML's identity to everyone. We got nothing for Jingrui, his friend and so on. And would love more time and banter between JingYan and MCS 😭 cried a river.

My main problem is that the consorts (princes' mothers) look way too young. They look like they could be their lovers. I checked the actors' age gaps and it's way too small! Even if they became concubines when they were 15ish, it still doesn't look believable at all.
