All in all, I really don't feel like it's only the screenwriter's fault. It may be the director, the producers, the editors, the cencorship, budgetary constraints, time constraits. Especially in the case of a cdrama, the reasons are endless. While I am frustrated as well, I really don't feel that a screenwriter who delivered so many good episodes could end this show in such a mediocre way. Even if they wanted to kill everyone, I seriously doubt that the screenwriter couldn't have done it in a more meaningful way. So let's not send unnecesary hate (criticism is always welcome of course)

Aside from MLC having a satisfying ending, I agree with all you say. I think they were too scared of killing LLH…
Yes, exactly!

It was also unrealistic that he gave up the flower for the emperor instead of healing him with his internal power, like he did for every single other person in the series... I feel like LLHshould have realised that he wants to live in the end, because if he still wants to die after all of that, than the character development doesn't do it for me... I like to imagine that his master's wife comes to him and sacrifices herself and he doesn't have anything to say lol

MLC is nowhere near a completely satisfying ending... But still better than this I guess
As for not rushing it - I agree. But I hate that it's ambiguous personally.

and why some people are saying this is the best drama of this year, atleast Mysterious lotus casebook is far better…

Don't mention Mr Queen ending to me!!!! Hate it so much, horrible and so depressing while painted to be a happy…
Girl, same, even worst of deaths can't beat Mr Queen's ending. Exactly what you said, a terrible ending disguised as a good one, wtf. 3 years passed and I'm still bitter and can't rate the show.

That's why I don't watch ongoing dramas... I have major, MAJOR trauma from Mr Queen's ending, the worst ending ever. I just started to feel butterflies from this drama, and now I'm sick to my stomach from all those bad things happening at the ending. How con they make a drama so funny and lighthearted only to break our hearts in the end? How could you have so many characters and kill all of them? The main leads didn't want to die for their country, they wanted to live on and be happy at last. Why can't you kill off the characters who have lived their share?
I'm only at ep 21, but how can I even enjoy the rest?

I hate a lot of people who write comments. It’s like y’all hype every generic kdrama with stupid plots but…
We are not yet halfway through, praise the drama later.

Don't look in the comments if criticism ruins your experience. It's that simple.

I kinda hate what they did with Hae na's character. Its pretty low hanging fruit and unnecessary. The 2nd ML is…
Agreed. She's just a filler at this point, I believe she'll make a sacrifice to redeem herself at some point, but it will be just meh as we know nothing about her...
Overall, ep 8 just felt so weird. Like they had a list of things to cross out. Breaking up and getting together in one episode is really not character development, it's having no idea how to bring more tension and dynamics to the plot.
Maybe I'm a bit harsh altogether, but the show feels like a combination of every kdrama cliche ever. While it was ok for the first episodes, cute characters with no substantial development can't get you far. I needed it to show sth new, but it fell flat. Just an ok show altogether, a filler to watch when you're washing dishes or doing loundry.
Also Sa Wol's aegyo is a bit too much for me at this point. She was really funny in the first episodes, when she was cute but had to confirm to the Joseon era mannerisms and culture, but after coming to the future it's all aegyo. Too one note for me, waste of actress' potential
Ehh I'm getting kinda frustrated rn. Why are they sleeping on the floor? And it was the ML's wish at that? Can we not make late-20-somethings so pure and innocent? Like I get the fact that the FL would be against it, as she's from the past, but the ML? That's not how men operate. Even if he doesn't want anything more for now, they can just sleep next to each other without going further.

It's not that this drama is anything more frustrating than the rest, but I'm kinda tired at this point. It's not realistic at the slighters. I don't need explicit scenes, but some tension at least would be nice. Even cdramas, with all the censorship deliver more emotions recently. I know we're here for escapism, I just feel like the range of characters in kdamas is just so small.

I'm torn between wanting to binge every episode left all at once and saving this amazing drama for later and delaying my inevitable sadness after finishing it

Woah, this is so good. Just 12 eps in, and I am already more satisfied with the romance than in SOKP (not that it lacked quality, but screentime? Definitely).
I really hope for a happy ending though, parting with this drama will bring enough sadness to my life, don't need an OE/BE to add to that.

Right now I'm most curious about the Chairman.. hmmmAs for the fashion show that first gold piece was BEAUTIFUL.…
So true! They could have easily swapped it for the navy dress, it didn't compare
