If I didn't watch S1 before, this would be a quick drop. I honestly don't even remember what happened in this season with Babi. I just remember the scenes with Woong. Yumi's relationship with Babi feels soo lukewarm, whereas the main selling point in S1 was the FIRE in Yumi's relationship with Woong.
I don't even really blame Babi for what happened. I just want him out of our sight cause he's boring AF and the chemistry in their relationship is non-existent.
If getting attracted to some other girl while being in a relationship is a valid reason for breakup then all of…
I kinda don't know how to feel about it. Like, you'd have to be a saint not to get attracted to anybody other than your partner. But at the same time, it's not sth the partner should know? Like if I learnt that my boyfriend is moved enough by a girl to sell his house and move away from her, I would be secong guessing my relationship as well. It just wouldn't be as comfortable anymore.
Reading this page of comments makes me unsurprised that so many people here are (and probably will forever remain)…
That's a valid point. I try to think if I ever saw such a plot done well (having thoughts about other people while in relationship) in a TV show or drama, but I can't recall it being portrayed as sth normal and not negative. Maybe something like in One Spring Night, where the FL falls for ML while in a relationship? But the 'cheating' side is often excused by their partner being toxic, abusive or else. And the 'new' love interest is often the main lead and the ultimate endgame. Still, the FL in OSN got quite a lot of backlash from some viewers who did not endorse that plot.
In that context, seeing Babi start to think romantically about somebody other than his partner, with almost no backstory, and with somebody other than main female lead, is just unthinkable to some.
(TBH my main reason for disliking on Babi is not his swaying but him being the single most boring ML ever)
I think it was her mistake to leave him alone for a whole year. She has no job, writing can be done anywhere,…
The thing is, we weren't really shown what the 2 of them feel about long-distance relationship. If it was presented that way - that Babi was really lonely, and Yumi prioritized becoming a writer rather than being together - then I guess there would at least be some build up to the situation with intern. But they didn't show any reasoning behind his falling for intern, so we can't be sure that it wouldn't happen if Babi was still in Seoul with Yumi. What I'm trying to say is, it is justified to feel lonely and even abandoned in long-distance relationship, but in this situation we didn't see any of that, so I can't blame Yumi for not coming to Jeju if she felt that their relationship is fine.

(I know that he's just a side character in webtoon, but after reading some negative comments about him I could not sit quiet - like what did he ever do?)
Unpopular opinion - some of yall don't want to admit if, but if the chief editor was played by Park Bo Gum or somebody just as handsome as him, you'd be on this ship faster than Babi falling for the intern. Because other than his looks, what makes his approach to Yumi that much different from Babi? Babi could be also strict and demanding as a team leader, and in the beginning he used Yumi's favourite things to get a date with her and win her over. But no, chief editor is bad but Babi is perfect. At least chief editor doesn't make a move when he learns that Yumi's taken. I guess looks are more important than actual character traits these days...
At this point, I actually don't see much reason to even portray Yumi's relationship with Babi. Maybe in webtoon it was longer and more developed, no idea, but here it just seems very rushed, but at the same time draggy and superficial from my perspective. Yumi didn't learn a lot during the relationship as of now, cause nothing happens. Not that she has to, but it's a TV show about her development, so it would be nice to see. And we didn't get deep into Yumi and Babi's feelings yet, apart from a bit of jealousy here and there. Like, every relationship has its ups and downs, better and worse moments. Here we even have long distance relationship, but it's not portrayed as a problem for them? Wasted potential.
So most of this season kinda feels like a filler to me, at least so far. Not only is Babi super boring, but their relationship is as well. Maybe apart from that moment when she touched his butt, that was sth new haha. But most things were done better and with waaay more chemistry in S1.
I definitely don't mind Yumi changing boyfriends, but it seems as if she's still in her 1st month of dating Babi, not past her 1st anniversary... if their relationship is doomed anyway I just hope they will break up ASAP, short and sweet.
Damn, I'm 30mins in ep 8 and the new chef editor character has already way more character than Babi...
I read already that he was just a side character in webtoon, BUT I WANT TO SEE THEM DEVELOP SO MUCH GIVE ME THAT ENEMIES TO LOVERS PLOT NOT THAT BLANDNESS WITH BABI
i don't want to suspect gyehoon's father in all of this, but based on the absolute mystery that surrounds him…
Yes! I found the "dr. eun's son is back" to be very weird as well. As if nobody remembers the mother. But at the same time, the sister died when EGH's father was with him, so either the father had an accomplice, or she was slowly dying?
I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to do some sort of experiment on EGY due to the supernatural connection between the kids and it failed.
Seeing how this show has the same writer as Suspicious Partner, main villain there kinda reminds of the stalker…
Damn, never got through SP but that's really dark... But I can definitely see your point, the stalker is getting a lot of screentime recently so they will definitely give him a backstory soon.
Kinda have a feeling that they are gonna somehow redeem the stalker? Like the last scene in ep8 when they turn into their child selves felt weirdly nostalgic and the fight was more like a fight between ex friends rather than a fight with an assumed murderer and stalker. Dunno, just haven't felt the inital horror of the stalker in ep7 and ep8, and while I can get behind portraying him like the pathetic human that he is, he now seems more like a strange guy nobody likes cause he's an asshole. So I'm wandering if they are gonna pull out some shit like that he was broken from an early age, looking for love, and didn't really kill female chef's sister or sth like that, and the real killer being behind him and manipulating him all along. Although I really wish they don't do that. Dunno, just a thought
