The MLs are fine, as the depiction of most men in Song dynasty. This is not a costume drama with modern ideas incorporated. I'll loathe such MLs if they exist in modern dramas.

triangle love is almost nonexistent. in first few episodes FL admires 2ML's guts. but that's it. From the beginning to the end, FL's heart is always attracted to ML, vice versa. in later episodes they realize that they share something in common. thus the slowburn romance begins. i think 2ML is not really love FL as a human being, but as a possession. he can throw her anytime for the sake of his mother's ambition. Also, he keeps FL by his side simply because he doesn't want to see FL be together with ML.

oot - out of topic.....tdhr -- the demon hunter romance. I mean, why should they remade TDHR? It is a complete drama waiting to be aired. Do they change FL? About golden hairpin, I heard they changed ML using AI face swap and additional reshoots.

Finally, I can finish this drama. I think this drama is overhyped. It's better if it was made for less than 40 eps. What's good of this drama : OST, purplish scenic, the setting, and the acting. I don't like that they are stingy for costumes, as well as The Blossoming Love.

even though I wanna them to be together, I still think that Nagao doesn't deserve Rika.

I think as years go by, C idol drama type really took another level. Even when the actors slept, they still had makeup, adornments and fully dressed up. Or were they too lazy to change actor's wardrobe? Japan taiga drama, Korean sageuk, Thai boran still maintain logic when it comes to make up and dressing up. But, not all C costume dramas suck at make up and dressing up logic. I still find drama with actors in pajamas and no-make-up make up.

When General Awa (the nephew) appeared, I thought they surely took a comedic path............
