Title Our Blues Spoiler
Dong Seok's mother is a piece of work. I wish he'd just tell everyone what she did to him. And she's still crapping…
Definitely it seems like DS is not aware at all on what his mother may have done prior to his birth. The amount of abuse from the step brothers during his teen years, and in the trailer clips of ep 18 the anger shown by one of the step brothers and him yelling out that the step dad had died from pent up anger, is going to be interesting as the real relationship between all the brothers and his bio mom.
I'm thinking that DS mom could have been a cheating EX or an AP to the stepdad, and DS being the mistake?

yeah, definitely! The ending sequence makes it comical and conniving of the old ladies - "Coffee?" "Let's have breakfast first." and that death stare from DS. Priceless!
But yeah, imagine if DS just unloads everything while they are having breakfast and says to them "You're on your own!"

Of course there seems to be a reason for DS mom to want him there at the stepfathers death anniversary and from the clips show he is further abused by the step brothers again at the dinner - even as grown up adults. The step brothers are very angry with DS, which seems sort of odd at this stage of their lives. The anger seems not as abuse but as something DS presence had done to their family. I caught the line at the trailer clips that the step father died from pent up anger.

NEW THEORY!Dong Seok's father is not his mother's first husband. Maybe Dong Seok IS actually his step father's…
I'm inclined to think similar. Maybe it's possible she had an affair with the step father who is really DS's bio fathe? I'm even thinking that maybe his father found out later and committed suicide by drowning rather than by accident. I've been wondering that the stepbrothers seem particularly harsh - but maybe that they were told that he is a bastard son (not just adopted stepson) and lashed out at him as that. Seriously all the stepdad needed to do is say to his sons back a bit off the beatings. Or maybe it was just that tactic to pressure DS and his mother to leave the household, but she refused to leave?
I also think DS mom has resented DS as the mistake that causes her husband's death, so her discarding him. And in all these later encounters I don't recall ever seeing her speak with him looking at him, like she doesn't see him as anything but a mistake?
Anyways - anxiously waiting for ep 19, 20!
And at the end of all this, maybe the writer just makes it some huge twist or sumting like dat!
But regardless this series has been quite the rollercoaster ride of emotions.

Dong Seok's mother is a piece of work. I wish he'd just tell everyone what she did to him. And she's still crapping…
She treated stray cats better than how she treated her son. From the recollection of Dong Seok, imagine being basically tossed away, discarded, she was to one telling him never to call his mother ever again, slapping him until his mouth bled. He pleaded and begged, and was prepared to do whatever it takes to take care of her if that was what was needed, and then to be called a filthy thief, allowing him to be beaten regularly.

The sight of Ho Shik and In Gwon holding hand together is one of the sweetest moment in the whole drama 😂😂
Man that was just the most hilarious scene, Eun Hee was so funny "Contractions?" and both fathers bearing the weight of tremendous tragedy. But then so sweet all three holding hands!

Just going to say, I don't like the teen's love story. I don't know why but they annoy me
Same here. I'm not sure if the girl seems to be acting all that entitled, but I don't think she really appreciates that all the men in her life will be putting their lives on hold after she has the baby and she goes off to university. Hyeon has already dropped out of school and working - but likely his income is only barely enough to cover just some essentials, housing is provided by the father in laws, her own father is putting off his dreams of retirement, buying his boat and sailing, and Hyeon's dad keep working at his shop to support financially.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. I don't think Miran is playing the victim here. She might be self-centered…
That's interesting now having seen episode 14, it seemed like Miran was using the word doormat as a terms of endearment? As she was saying it that she felt that Eun Hee was the only constant in her life. I guess Eun Hee should have spoken up if she felt hurt and that because she didn't allowed it to fester to resentment. But it was good to see the friendship endures and they seem to have improved their communication.
I agree with the therapy though as it seems Miran tries to just take it all in stride but she's still hurting deep down.

Episode 13 was so good. I had always wondered with about Myong Bo's marriage and had just thought he seemed terrified of his wife on confrontation just out of him being naughty - since the couples times like he was sneaking back into the Karaoke bar with his reunion party. But the actual physical abuse was quite revealing the pain he hides to all since none of his closest friends likely even suspects. While I was on the fence with Miran at the beginning of the episode and with this episode she is now trying to play the victim - or turning it back on Eun Hee as to her being the pretender? I think that is pretty despicable again that is what some of these manipulative people will do, and I now feel even worse for Eun Hee, since we know she will probably be truly hurt by this. Many of us may been like Eun Hee, who has/had a friend like Miran, and we always try our best to help or maintain that friendship even being unreasonably one sided. But then to have them call you out saying you're the pretender, well that is a new low. That's just a crappy person.

Some of the character arcs are so good. At the beginning I really thought that Park was such the douche and a player. Well he is as said bluntly that he constantly dating, but clarified that he isn't a two timer - he's not a cheater. And although he was the one initially providing advice to KJ, each time he talks to her, he learns more as well making him question himself and his ideas. I really like both guys and honestly if for whatever reason KJ's thing doesn't come through I hope Park will help her with a soft landing.

I am up to episode 10 and I am torn because I kinda ship KJ with the Park guy who she goes to for relationship…
Definitely the Park guy seems to have less baggage - other than he is a player. But he was quite upfront to the last girl that he never two timed. He appears to be blunt and I think he honestly never saw KJ until she confronted him on the lottery tickets. He gave her dating advice and self confidence, and with each scene we can slowly see him falling for her. But I think he won't play his hand as he is probably not going to tempt her since he knows she has eyes for TH. So will be interesting if he might confess his growing affection for her at some point. Regardless who she may ultimately end up with, both guys seem much better than the all over the road stuff like her younger brother, and less dangerous than Gu.

I'm not making excuses for his behaviour - he's a grown ass adult now - but if you were an abused child/teenager…
It would be nice to see what the mom's back story is, but so far it's hard to tell if she was a willing mistress, or she could have been a debt slave from her parents to the wealthy family and taken advantage of by the master. She seemed obviously submissive, and acted like a slave. If her family was in debt, that could limit her ability to just run away with her son.

The way he talks is yes. But I understand the hate. Just because you are old and dying and are 'family', you are…
He was often beaten badly by his stepbrothers, and even showing the bruises all over his body, his mom never showed any reaction nor tried to help. Dong Seok was physically strong and obviously able to easily fend for himself - as he showed by beating up his classmate nearly to a pulp for what he thought at the time taking advantage of Seon Ah. He took the abuse at home explaining to Seon Ah one night that he wanted to see if his mother will be heartbroken seeing him like that, but I guess no reaction from his mom which probably hardened his heart towards her. Honestly his mom was a total victim/slave to that family, and as much as we could say based on today's standards that she should have just up and leave, back in the day was likely next to impossible. But just the indifference she showed when she turned her head away from her son after he showed her all his bruises on his abdomen and chest, that really sealed his hatred. I think though by that age of Dong Seok in those scenes, if his mom had shown him some compassion he would have moved heaven and earth to protect and take care of his mom. But then we'd have a different story.

But her story seems very deep. She answered the Haenyeo's question in the blurred segment, and it looked like it was heartwrenching. I honestly do love her to bits, but she is playing so much of her story close to her chest. I am fingers crossed that they have a good conclusion. Jeong Jun is planning to buy a house to settle down, and even happy enough that he told his brother he may even buy him a house.

Yeah, kind of makes me mad that everyone sort of treats her as a pushover and someone they take advantage of - even though they call her a friend. Eun hie is so forgiving and willing to help even though it seems she had been made fun of and tormented in her school days. And even though she projects a strong bold image, deep down she still has a heart of gold.
I really hope she won't get hurt again as she did when Han Soo came back in town.

It was interesting that Ho Sik blurted out that Eun Hie left him for being poor. Although it sounded like they may have been GF/BF at one time.
But definitely that Miran sounds like trouble however in their school days Miran helped Eun Hie to stay in school and later to get her GED. That is when Eun Hie declared undying loyalty to her. But as fortunes changed, it is interesting to see what Miran's story is about. For the current episode Miran is really an awful manipulative woman.
