Well if you want to know about what reviews did real psychologist gave to this drama... You can watch it in Youku's…
I wanted to ask here mainly because I wanted insights from those with no affiliation to Youku, but I’m glad to know about the positive feedback. Thanks.
Anyone here who is from the psychology/medical field? Just curious on your thoughts about the drama because I'm no psychologist and I'm kind of impressed over how female lead is actually doing her job.
I really like how He Dun does psychotherapy. There are few Chinese dramas in which one of the leads is a psychologist (ex. Unforgettable Love, My Girl) but that is merely used as backdrop for the main plot. Of course, some scenarios are overly dramatized but there is clearly an objective once the psychologist and the patient are inside the counselling room.
First, the room layout is carefully set up. Factors such as the room color, temperature, lighting, furniture, and seat angle actually influence the mood of a session and this has been explained at the start of the drama. Second, she demonstrates all active listening skills (attending, bracketing, leading, reflecting, probing) systematically. Again, I’m no psychologist but these aspects have been particularly discussed on one of my courses this semester (Family Medicine) and it somehow aligns with her approach. I also like that she also uses different but highly effective activities to help her patients with further understanding/realization.
The best translation is Youku channel on YouTube. I watched the drama on both Netflix and YouTube and found that…
Thank you so much! I usually don't mind translations but it really does make make a difference in a costume drama (ex. translating a title/name vs. romanizing that title/name) whenever I switch platforms.
Hello! I plan to give the series a try before the year ends. In which platform is it best to watch this in terms of translations? Especially for someone who isn’t familiar with this genre?
I just use myasiantv lol. There's no point in paying for youtube premium. Just downlaod the videos from youtube…
The subscription in Youku's YT channel releases episodes in advance (episodes 13-20) and right on schedule with subtitles (8PM). If there's no such thing as VIP membership in Chinese streaming platforms, only 12 episodes would be available right now.
There's nothing wrong with people paying for it if they have the means to watch the drama legally. No need to tell OP that "there's no point in paying for youtube."
This week’s episodes were extremely disappointing considering how much I enjoyed the first ten. Not even the first kiss impressed me - and that was not an accidental nor a forced kiss! It was a completely consensual, two-way kiss. If the actors managed to cover up the writing issues last week, they cannot do anything about it anymore. The bad writing exposed itself.
The chase was so repetitive while the official start of the romance was so anticlimactic. The drama just wasted the intense chemistry from the main couple’s unresolved feelings/sexual tension. All the build up from their push-and-pull game fizzled out and the way they resolved their misunderstanding and arrived at that point felt so out of the blue.
Yey glad to see Chen Xue Ran there! Literally my favorite Chinese OST singer. Each of his song sounds different but they all do the same thing - give me a myriad of emotions.
Guardian's 《We Won't Be Falling》sounds so epic and grand; fitting for a fantasy with strong themes of soulmates/brotherhood, while Go Go Squid's《Nameless Generation》reminds me of dreams, glory, and passion - themes which were very much present in the drama.
Polar Star is not a ballad but it gives me so much emotions, especially when the drum beats come. Long Day is another song that is purely in English; unlike the song title, the story spans for years and may require patience, but it perfectly captures the relationship of the two leads.
So yes, hopefully more international fans would listen to him! Thank you for the article!

This will surely be a visual feast like Helter Skelter and Followers!

But thanks for answering! At least I know I wasn’t hallucinating with the Tue to Thurs schedule!
Please tell me they changed the schedule because I swear, it was Tues to Thurs last week.....

I highly suggest these two other favorite songs of mine for those who are unfamiliar with him. These are on the softer side but are equally impactful as the ones mentioned above:
- My Girl's 《Polar Star》https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d-qAlxymbk
- Our Secret's 《Long Day》https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjp26YxZ6lA

this is one of the moments where i'm missing the Fast Track option in their dramas lol
Fast track option, I miss you.
