why don't the FL just tell her parents that she got cheated on by the SML???
Of course, that’s just my theory! I’m not saying that will always be the case.
It’s just that I’ve watched another drama before with a female lead in her 30’s with a cheating boyfriend. Her parents shrugged the infidelity (“one small mistake”) off because where can she find another perfect man to marry at her age? Again with Asian culture and their views on women and age.
And so far in this drama, we’ve seen how much his father likes the SML and how he is with his two children lol

To be honest, I find it easier said than done.
Like what @Rose Hearts said, her parents already has an established perfect image of her fiancé. And when someone who is the supposedly perfect man cheats, the blame will most likely shift to the woman and her shortcomings. Traditional gender roles are still very much rampant among Asian households after all.
So happy with the female lead’s conversation with her fiancé at episode 9. I know some people did not like…
The overall mood of the drama (as suggested by the opening song) is sexy and dangerous. And the chemistry of the two leads is sizzling.
So, as much as how I want the leads to spend a hot night together asap, I don’t want them to do it while she’s in a relationship. I’m really excited for the upcoming weeks!
So happy with the female lead’s conversation with her fiancé at episode 9. I know some people did not like how she went back to him, but they honestly needed that do-over to realize that broken mirrors cannot be fixed. Like what her friend said, him cheating is just a catalyst; their relationship already had problems long before this incident happened. Not to mention, they have been together for 10 long years — that’s basically her youth — their friends and families have expectations, even society itself have marriage expectations for women in their 30’s. My point is her decision is realistic and understandable. I’m glad the show properly addressed it as early as now (first week of airing).
Binged watched all 6 episodes in one go and my gosh, so much chemistry from their stares and accidental hand holding. Overall mood is sexy and dangerous - which the opening song very much foreshadows!
Great to see a gritty, non-fluffy Cdrama. I wish they had cast someone else as FL! Argh! She didn't fit the fresh-faced…
Someone mentioned before that the female lead is not supposed to be young. The screenwriter explained it in an interview.
"1. They had to cut a lot from the first 8 episodes; apparently they get into a lot more on female lead’s background -how she was an orphan/street thug that was captured by captain cao (which is why he’s biased against her at the start), then cheng ji semi-adopted her and put her on the right path.
2. female lead is supposed to be old. she was originally a street thug and tried for the police academy late. then she failed 3 times. they put her age at 26/27."
I’ve had my fair share of undercover cop dramas but this is a rare case where the key informant is the female lead. And she is one badass woman with an awesome character development. Lin Qiang is smart and brash, but her fearlessness is exactly what she needs to survive in a drug cartel. She always gets the work done while still having her own fun. The captain of the narcotics division said it himself - she only gets better with each day.
Another strong point of the drama is that all characters think and act. There is no throwaway character from the police down to the drug dealers, the higher ups included. The drama is also fast-paced, and the heaviness and lightheartedness of it is well-balanced. Like I mentioned above, the female lead knows how to have fun, especially when the male lead is the sexy, mysterious son of the head of a rival organization. And I just love how the story moves on from one chapter to another since there are different levels to crack down in a drug cartel. Talk about a great story development.
No I SWEAR the leads are so comfortable with each other. The behind the scenes are even fun to watch.
It’s one of the few 24-episode Chinese dramas that has this much skinship (and I’m not only talking about kissing) that feels so natural and not excessive in any way. Their bickering, teasing, or even just annoying the heck out of each other are so cute. They are just so sweet and shameless and clingy??? Without being annoying. Their support and trust are also noteworthy.
The chemistry is what is elevating the whole drama.

If it isn’t available, it must be region blocked. Best scenario is to either use a VPN (I’m from Southeast Asia) or wait for other sites to upload it.
She has always been cute but she grew up extra beautifully!
